Work Text:
After burying his wife Mira, his parents, and finally his hopes for Czechoslovakia returning to what it was within his lifetime, Jiří Svoboda got on a ship to Cuba, then Colombia, met Luisa who filled the hole in his soul, and had learned a lot of new words over the past few years.
Among them: esposo, tío, cuñado, padrino.
But some words remained the same: "Tomás Pedro Madrigal Rojas, ego te baptizo in nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus sancti," the priest said over Jiří's godson, pouring water the same three times as he had seen done back in Brno.
