Oneshot based on a tumblr post: Snape's survival and return to Hogwarts to teach potions causes the most feral school rumours you've ever seen.
"the snape rumours change every day. there's five variations on each one. there's snape lore in the school that you have to brush up on as a first-year. the kids are DESPERATE to get a scathing snape burn in class. when he's cruel and demeaning, the kids' faces LIGHT UP and he's furious that that doesn't work any more so most of the time he gives the class the silent treatmentharry's shouted out everywhere that Sev did it all for Lily, and so the girls and single mums (and some not single mums) think he's the god of romance. suddenly sev finds himself the new Lockhart, and he LOATHES IT"
Proper description: Staffroom banter and Snape being a little shit to the students. Embraced by media as either a war hero or a sexy Darcy-esque character from a spy novel, school rumors abound. Each day brings a new tale about Snape, from tales of his resurrection to secret lovers. Of course, Snape hates it.
Until he doesn't.
