Chapter Text
Three years. It had been three years since the incident. The incident that caused Sunny to lose everything he once had. Since then, he has found solace in drugs, getting his products off some sketchy websites. He is thankful his mother hasn’t caught on just yet. He enjoyed the dreams and thoughts he gets from the substances. When he was high.. Or stoned.. He just felt at peace, as though his worries melted away. He didn’t have to worry about the outside world. He didn’t have to think about Mari. He didn’t have to feel bad. It was bliss.
His mom is home for once, but she says she can only stay for an hour, due to having to go to work soon. She wants to spend as much time as she can with him. So, Sunny was forced out of his room to have some ‘bonding’ time with her… in the kitchen.
“Isn’t this wonderful, Sunny? We haven’t gotten to be together this long in person in a while!” His mother says, “I’m sorry about that… I just want to make sure we have enough money for food and supplies…” Sunny nods, hugging her, as if to tell her it’s alright. He wasn’t one for words, especially after his sister’s passing. “Do you… not want to eat?” She asks, a concerned tone in her voice. Sunny shakes his head, as hungry as he was, he can’t bring himself to eat just yet. His mom doesn’t want to press on further, in fear of gaining his hatred, so she leaves it be.
Once the time comes for her departure, she gives him a quick kiss on the forehead and heads out the door. Sunny watches as it closes, staring at it for a couple seconds. Loneliness again. Why did it always have to be like this..? He sighed and headed up the stairs, trying to keep his mind away from the torturous thoughts that often arise on these dangerous steps. He took some deep breaths, hoping it would help, but the stairs felt… taller than usual. He tried to push through anyways, beginning to slowly hyperventilate, he panicked and rushed up the steps as fast as he could… that worked. Before he knew it, he was at the top.
A sigh of relief escaped the black haired teen. He managed to avoid something traumatic… but that felt easier than it should have. Something wasn’t right. He decided to try and brush off the feeling, it wasn’t anything he wished to dwell on anyways. He turned the knob to his bedroom, entering it and closing the door behind him. Sunny knew that what he was about to do would probably fuck him up in the long run, but he’s already done it so many times, that it doesn’t bother him anymore. He slid a box out from under his bed, opening it to various drugs, namely marijuana and cocaine. He took a second to decide which he wanted to use tonight, and decided on cocaine.
He grabbed the small bag filled with it, pouring some out onto the desk. He hesitated before grabbing the small tube and inhaled it deeply into his nose. He let out a deep breath after, but this… wasn’t feeling as it usually did. He felt… unstable. This didn’t feel great at all. This wasn’t like the other times. What was happening..? He tried to calm down, but his lungs fought to breathe. He stumbled back, bumping his nightstand, he felt too dizzy to comprehend anything. A box cutter fell from it. He grabbed it, but ended up passing out soon after. Sunny groaned softly as he woke up on the cold, hard floor. He looked outside, night time. He was unconscious the whole day..? He shook his head, slowly getting up. He didn't feel like sleeping right now... not after this whole... fiasco. He decides to try and freshen up in the bathroom. However... When he opened the door to his bedroom and stepped through, he wasn't where he expected to be..
