Summary
Six years after Sunny's admission of the truth and his big move to the city, Sunny has accidentally become a best-selling children's author. He'd began writing his old stories down as a therapy exercise, and discovered he may have had more of a knack for story telling than he'd thought.
But with loose ends still untied, Basil's return back from Germany with his parents, and the tenth anniversary of Mari's death coming up - Sunny starts feeling an uncomfortably familiar sense of guilt hovering over his shoulder. With his book gaining more and more popularity, he's finding it harder and harder to keep hiding away from his old life.
And, maybe more importantly, his old friends.

Summary
Sunny risked his life to escape his dreams. When he moved, he left it all behind. His friends, Headspace, the piano, and the broken violin... Mari. All of it is behind him now. Kel still calls on occasion, inviting him to spend the summer with them, but despite how much he wants to visit, he can’t bring himself to go back to faraway.
...Until one day, the landline to his new home gets a call from the new folks who moved in to their old house. Ever since they found the broken violin, strange things have been happening in the house. A figure with long, black hair in the mirrors, the piano playing itself late at night, and a haunting eye, staring at into the house from the backyard. Sunny doesn’t need to question them further. He knows who it is.
And so, with nothing but a suitcase full of clothes, some cash, and a ticket to faraway, Sunny embarks on a quest to find out that his dreams may have more power of the real world then he might have realized, and to answer the call for help, or blood, that he knows his sister calls him to.
---12-14-25 Update: Alongside the new chapter, Chapters 1-9 have received touch-ups to improve the reading experience.---

“What exactly is behind the door?”
“…”
“M-Maybe if we see what’s behind it, It’ll stop being so scary.” Basil suggested. Sunny nodded.

Summary
It is a day like any other for twelve-year-old sunny. Other than the fact that he and Mari have their recital tonight. And he's not planning on going through with it.
Or;
An absurd and kind of lighthearted retelling of events if things went... insanely different? You'll just have to read to know what I mean.

Summary
Attending a new school in the city should've carried no surprises. Everything should have been okay by that point. All those preconceptions come crashing down, however, when Sunny realizes he's not the only boy from Faraway who enrolled.
So he has to find the most optimal way of reconnecting with someone he tormented for four years. He does have to repay for all the horrible mistakes he's made, after all. Forgiveness won't come easily. It shouldn't.
He just has to ignore the strange thoughts and feelings bubbling up in the back of his mind and the way his lungs tense up when he tries reconnecting. All that matters much less than making his former best friend happy.
TL;DR Sunny manages to get into a school in the new city, however another surprise comes when Basil appears there as well. Sunny now feels a need to try his best to reconnect with his former best friend, all while a crush on him keeps getting stronger than Sunny can handle. This autistic boyfailure doesn't know gay people exist (yet).

Summary
“Look, all I’m trying to say is that I understand it was an accident,” she replied as softly as she could muster, folding her arms over her chest, before a thought suddenly occurred to her. “I’m… I’m sure Mari would understand that. She’d even forgive you, I’d reckon.”
“She would,” Sunny said wistfully in response. “Doesn’t mean I still don't feel guilty about it.”
“I hear you,” Aubrey whispered, looking away from him and out towards the town below them, recalling what Sunny had said about the accident. “It was just something stupid you did in a rush of emotions. I can relate.” She added on with a bit of a somber tone.
“You didn’t kill anyone.”
“I almost did. If Hero hadn’t been there, both you and Basil would’ve more than likely drowned.”
-
After Sunny reveals the truth to all of them, Aubrey goes up to the roof to think about it. She's soon joined by Sunny.

Summary
August fifteenth. The date was circled on Kel’s calendar in annoyingly bright red marker, surrounded by exclamation points, stars, and smiles. Finally, after almost a year of failed plans and haphazard preparations, Kel was going to head into the city for the first time, and see Sunny again. Sometimes, he hated how much he loved Sunny. It drove him crazy.
Or,
Kel has been head over heels for Sunny for a long time. But, over the course of the year after the truth was revealed, his feelings somehow managed to get even bigger. Now, heading into the city, Kel is going to spend time with Sunny for the first time since then. He's terrified, but hopeful. Little does he know that Sunny feels just the same.
