Rosie's summer holidays had finally started, granted she had already had a ton of time off to deal with her ordeal earlier in the year but this was different, summer was supposed to be the most fun carefree time of the year but this time it just didn't feel right.
Rosie was beginning to understand the extent to which her mental health had been harmed during the events of earlier in the year. Her medical records told her she had a minor mood disorder, she didn't know which one, that's public health care for you I guess. Rosie felt trapped, she wanted to go out but she didn't know where. Even when she planned something she just couldn't bring herself to go and do it, it was like she couldn't enjoy anything and she hated it.
Sherlock and John had started picking up on Rosie's frustration, how could they not? They had started to keep a discreet but very close eye on their daughter.
"I wish Rosie would go out more, she obviously isn't happy staying in the flat all day but it's like she can't bring herself to leave, she wanders around the flat like she's trapped " Sherlock mused
"Yeah, we should send a text to Jen" agreed John. Jen had been Rosie's therapist for a few months now and Rosie was doing so much better but she still struggled sometimes.
"Well Rosie always says she feels better once she just has to get stuck in and do something, maybe we should start taking her out more" suggested Sherlock.
"Yeah but where's Watson going to want to go with us? Surely she'd get bored"
"John are we talking about the same Watson who saves up coins she finds on the floor to spend in a launderette as suppose to the perfectly usable washing machine we have here simply because she likes the energy of launderettes " pointed out Sherlock "She may have some complex tastes in fashion, music etc but you have to admit it's well balanced with her love of doing the most random things "
John chuckled at that, "yeah I suppose so, maybe an activity where Watson doesn't feel pressured to have fun would be good for her, we can make the suggestion to her at dinner tonight.
Sherlock switched on his phone , he had an excel sheet for all of Rosie's favourite things including her favourite activities which he sorted in various ways including low and high energy activities, he reads some out to Sherlock as he reads.
"Posting handwritten letters, going to the launderette, finding the weirdest vending machine in the area, catching public transport, taxis... Going to the archives or large libraries and using the encyclopedia, planning activities etc
