Agatha Gillman was in a bad mute, some might ask why ? Was there trouble at work, some sort of disagreement with her husband ? Did her Children not do well in school ?

No ! It was none of the above, in fact she had just blown away her quta for the entire year in just this week, she and her husband celebrated their Seventeenth anniversary and her Kids were at the top in school, so what was the problem?
The answer was Agatha's daughter Ruby....
Ruby had wanted to introduce Agatha to a new friend of hers,Agatha had been shocked that said friend happened to be a Mermaid, it gone even worse for her when Ruby had introduced her to that "friend" of hers.
Ruby had clearly believed that this Mermaid was the Daughter of Agatha's worst enemy Nerissa, but Agatha had known better....
That shiny red hair, the sly knowing smirk, the absolute confidence, everything... this wasn't any Daughter of Nerissa, this was the Mermaid Queen herself!
Agatha had known that Mermaids didn't age once reaching adolescents but she never had really thought about what exactly it meant that they stayed teenagers forever, the idea that Nerissa would ever return never even crossed Agathas mind....
When Agatha had allowed the defeated Mermaid Queen to retreat without killing her and had fleet to the Surface herself the Kraken Warrior had believed she would never have to see Nerissa, how wrong she had been !
And the worst part ? The way Ruby looks at Nerissa...
The way Agatha's daughter looked at the Mermaid Queen or "Chelsea" how Nerissa had renamed herself wasn't really a "friend" look.....
No Ruby had clearly fallen head over heels for the immortal hundred year old Mermaid who had almost destroyed her family and not even Nerissa seemed to be aware of it! Which atleast meant that she atleast hadn't seduced Ruby on purpose, make of that what you will...
No Nerissa was obviously only going to pretending that she was Ruby's best friend with no eye on romance, not that Agatha had any doubt that Nerissa would take that opening if she ware to become aware of Ruby's feelings, she would clearly do "anything" to get the Trident back and when she did she would instantly stabbing Ruby in the back, the only question was when?
Agatha started to have Nightmares about the situation, in one of which she could already see Nerissa in a white dress being lead to the Altair by a blushing Ruby while she smirked gleefully at Agatha "your little Girl is now mine Agatha" the Mermaid Queens smile seemed to say and she could hear the Mermaid Queens obnoxious laughing in her ears as she woke up gasping for air.
Agatha was ashamed to admit it but when that betrayal had come way sooner than expected and the fight between Nerissa and the three Kraken had began the Knowledge that she wouldn't have had to have Nerissa as a Daughter-in-law had been feelt as if a heavy weight had been lifted from Agatha's Heart.
When Ruby had asked them to spare the Mermaid after her defeat Agatha had known that even though she would probably have done the same even without her feelings for.... "Chelsea" after all Ruby was still a kind hearted Girl and wouldn't go for revenge, even after such a betrayl but.... the worry and desperation Ruby kept hidden behind her eyes as her Grandmother suggested to make "fried fish" their was still some love left in her gaze...
That was why Agatha knew that Ruby's feelings for the Mermaid were different to what she felt for Connor, what Ruby felt for Connor was just a crush and really nothing more than that, but Ruby herself didn't even realize that and Agatha preferred that her daughter wouldn't realize it.No there was no reason for Ruby to become aware that her Mother's great Rival was her first love.
Maybe Agatha had been too alighted about it all because writing a diary was a terrible idea in hindsight, especially when she had written a very detailed description of the Mermaid Genocide committed by her Mother Queen Emerald, and how this had been going on for five entire years before Nerissa had found the Trident and how it had continued after Agatha had taken the Trident even though Agatha hadn't seen much of it. Agatha should have known that somthing was wrong when Ruby's behavior had begun to change and she looked more angry...
One day Ruby had asked Agatha about the war again and the War was even able to begin when her Grandmother had said herself that a Mermaid could do nothing to a Giant Kraken and it would take four Mermaids to take down even a regular Kraken so how could the war even begin five years before Nerissa who Ruby still refers to as Chelsea had found that Trident?
Agatha unable to bring herself to tell her Daughter that the Old Kraken Queen just literally had just had a bad day and had decided that Genocide would make her day! So Agatha broke her promise and lied to Ruby, but after that Agatha had to promise to Ruby to ask Nerissa who again Ruby still called Chelsea what exactly had let to the war, Ruby even gave Agatha a necklace she had been given by a friend who had claimed it was a magic object that could force people to tell the truth.
Agatha had laughed and promised to use it, even though she had been feeling like crying knowing that her Daughter had started to doubt Nerissa's guilt despite the betrayal of the Mermaid which meant Agatha had to come up with a good sufficient excuse that would let no doubt on how wicked Nerissa was, unless Ruby were to fall victim to her feelings again.
So Agatha went to the little cabinet that Gordon had put up to interrogate her old enemy, honestly Agatha wished she had just finished off the Mermaid Queen the day she took the Trident from her but how was she supposed to know that Nerissa would steal her little Girls heart ?
When Agatha entered the room in which the Cage stood in where Nerissa was held captive Agatha couldn't help bad to have a very bad feeling, it was as if someone or something was watching her...
When Nerissa noticed her presence she starred at Agatha with a hateful expression "Oh! Agatha it's you! How lovely to see you, are you here to finish the job now that I'm completely helpless and can't even defend myself ? Brave.. really brave of you Agatha..."
"No I'm not here to kill you..." Agatha said in a firm voice "and I don't think Ruby would ever forgive me if I did that..." she added mumbling to herself
"Ruby....?"The Mermaid Queen "how is she ?"
Agatha hated how genuinely concerned Nerissa's voice sounded when she asked this "and what do you mean she wouldn't forgive you...?" The Mermaid seems to be confused by that claim
"I'm the One asking questions here Nerissa!" Agatha stated furious but than calmed herself a bit "how do you think she is after you betrayed her like that ? You broke her heart!"
"What ?" Nerissa asked confused
Agatha couldn't hold back any longer "you may not have noticed it because you were so busy playing her for a fool but stoll my poor little girls heart! You devious, rotten, excuse for a Mermaid!"
It seems even Nerissa was taken aback by this revelation at least she didn't seem to have any answer for Agatha's words
So Agatha presses further "and than you tried to kill her and forced her to realize that she meant nothing to you!" She rants
"Oh! Shut the Crab up Agatha! That's a lie and you know it!" The Caged Mermaid Queen answered "if she really meant nothing to me... if I really wanted to kill her... than she would be six feet under right now and I wouldn't be in this Cage! You know dam well that I was deliberately going non-lethal on her when I got the Trident! You know my fighting still better than anyone else! A stab at the Arm when I could have gone directly for her Heart or Head!? And Bolders instead of making sure she was absolutely dead with my own hands ? So don't pretend you didn't know I was going easy on her!"
Agatha had no response for that.
Finally Agatha decided to take out the Necklace
"Oh is that for me?" Nerissa said suddenly very excited "this would like fit so well with my eyes, I mean... did you see them" Nerissa pointed at her eyes while clearly having a vanity attack again, Agatha didn't want do deal with that and just tossed the Necklace to her.
The Mermaid eagerly put the Necklace on without thinking twice "whoo! I need a Mirror right!" The Mermaid giggled still very much excited.
Agatha ignored that and asked Nerissa straight up about the war.
The Mermaid Queen actually seemed to be angry at that Question "don't pretend you didn't know Agatha! You were there when it happened! You eradicated us for five whole years with no explanation whatsoever, so when I found the Trident wasn't it only Natural that we Mermaids started to fight back!?" The Redhead said angryly
Agatha flinched, she was very aware of the injustice the War had originally started with, her Mother still refused to explain to her why she had given the command that day, but she still insisted to push trough "so you want me to believe you're reasons were pure selfless?"Agatha asked her voice dripping with sarcasm
"Ye...."suddenly Nerissa was electrocuted by green lightning as she was about to give her answer "Au! What was that? The Mermaid demanded to know.
"So it works?" Agatha asked in disbelief, than she focused on Nerissa again "that Necklace is from one of friends, it's a magical device who exposes lies ! So don't even think about lying to me!" She told her
"Argh! That's mean trick! How dare you!" The Mermaid spat out and tried to get the Necklace off her neck to no success, "fine! I did want to become the ruler of the Ocean and reveled in that idea, but am I not the better Queen compared to that old Hag who just suddenly decides to comit Genocide on a whim ?" Nerissa said finally as she realized she couldn't get Necklace of
"My Mother is not the one being interrogated right now Nerissa !"Agatha counters harshly
"Did you ever really care about me ?"
"Ruby!?"
"Ruby!?"
Both Agatha and the Mermaid Queen were quite shocked as the young Girl suddenly appeared in the Room
"Ruby why are you....?" The Kraken ignored her Mother and concentrated on the Mermaid "I asked you a question Chelsea..." Ruby voice sounded almost pleadingly as she spoke out the Mermaids alias when she questioned her.
"Sorry I'm not such a fan of sub stories Guppie Girl..."The Mermaid answered evasive
Agatha wanted to intervene but didn't know how,
"Chelsea please..." Ruby begged as if the Mermaid wasn't the one held in a Cage.
Chelsea sighed" Okay Okay Guppie Girl, just stop it with the Guppie eyes! I'm sorry for everything I did Ahhhhhh!" The Mermaid got another taste of the green lightning from the Necklace" Okay Okay! I don't regret trying to kill you Grandma who basically holocausted my entire pepole for half a decade or your Mom who took away the only defense I had! but I am sorry for betraying you Ruby...." this time there wasn't any lightning.
Ruby looked at the floor "to think I felt bad for giving you the Trident....."
Agatha tried to approach her Daughter "Ruby you...."
"Stop right there!" Ruby for the first time In her life really yelled at her Mom
"Ruby..." Agatha was speechless
"No more secrets!.... you promised no more secrets!!!!!" Ruby might wake up the entire town if she continued in this tone of voice
"You promised not to keep things from me anymore!!!!" The young Kraken accused her Mother furiously "and yet... not only did you recognize my feelings for...."Ruby looks at the blushes "... and you tried to keep me from getting aware of them! No! You let me believe that Chelsea is just a manipulative! Evil!.....!!!!"
"Nerissa is manipulative and evil!!!! You know that now better than anyone!!!!!" Agatha defended
"Because you and Grandmama basically pulled a holocaust on her people without any justification!!! What did you expect of her? Just sit back and watch you annihilate her entire species!? Yeah she tricked me but what other choice did you even give her !?" Ruby asked
"I didn't want to take part in that, that's why I fleet the Ocean!" Agatha yelled back
"Only after you took Chelsea's only means to defend her people from being slaughtered!" Ruby screamed in anger
"Ruby did you read my diary....?" Agatha asked
"What exactly did she even do wrong!?" Ruby asked beginning to walk up to her Mother
"You read my diary!" Agatha exclaimed in horror
"No I don't, Bliss did, we played at home he stumbled over it and began to read on loud thinking it was a new thriller, by the time we noticed what it actually was my..." she looked at the Mermaid ".. my change of heart had already been exposed, can you imagen how embarrassing that was !? To have that readout by a friend infronte of my other friends before I was even aware of it myself!?" Ruby asked
"Ruby..." Agatha began
But the young Kraken continued "so we decided to continue since the damage was already done.... and that's how i got whole story...."Ruby explains
"Ruby listen to me...."Agatha tried again.
Ruby looked to the Mermaid Queen and gave her shy smile before glaring at Agatha defiantly meeting her Mother's gaze without any reluctance and said
"Chelsea dose not deserve to be in this Cage! She doesn't even really deserve a punishmen!"
"Ruby..." Agatha tried to clear the situation again
But Ruby ignored her openes the Cage and realeses the Mermaid, who easily turned her fin in to legs thanked Ruby who continued to stand between the Mermaid and her Mother with a stern gaze at the later as if to protect the the Redhead from Agatha.
The Mermaid finally managed to get the Necklace of her neck and left fleeing who knows where...
The drive back home was.... Quite..... to say the least.
Ruby had taken Agatha's breaking of their promis quite badly, and Agatha had not really a good excuse, (since it's quite difficult to excuse a Genocide)
It took Agatha 3 months to get things to work out with her Daughter again and she worked hard for it, but five weeks later she got another hard impact on her life when she came back home late one day and found a certain Mermaid sleeping on her Couch.
"What's the meaning of this Nerissa!?!!?" Agatha brutally ripped the Mermaid out of her dreams
"Oh! It's just you..." the Mermaid shrugged when she realized who had woken her without any of the fear she used to have towards Agatha after she had been beaten by her the first time.
"You will leave MY home right now or I make fried fish out of you!" Agatha threatened her old enemy
The Mermaid Queen just laughed
"Ahahahaha hahaha hahaha ! Oh really? You would kill own Daughter's Girlfriend Agatha? I don't think Ruby-boo will like that very much, in fact she might even hate you for that" the Mermaid smiled deviously
"What did you just say ?" Agatha asked in disbelief
"Oh ! And before I forget, don't call me Nerissa anymore, I'm going by Chelsea now..." she says already walking away from the conversation towards the stairs
"....Mom" she added with a sly smirk as she disappeared from sight.
Agatha started after her old enemy in horror, her worst fears might become true after all.....
