Work Text:
Terrin and Adette ate their dinner about an hour ago, and now they’re seated on the couch in Adettes chambers. They’re chatting about their day, but when Adette sighs and her eyes wander for the third time in the past ten minutes, Terrins expression grows worried.
“My lady, are you alright?” he asks her, as he places his hand over hers. She looks at it, and leans back into the couch.
“My apologies Terrin, I know we’ve been planning this evening for some time, but I’ve been feeling quite tired the past few days.”
“Are you unwell?” He’s stroking his thumb over her hand now.
“Not quite,” she hums. “It’s just been a while since… uh..” She ponders for a moment. “My iron levels have been lower than usual lately.”
Terrins mind immediately goes to known scenarios. He experienced low iron levels himself after an accident on an excursion, a cut in his leg gave him minor blood loss. The Lady isn’t wounded however, so his mind goes further to the more probable scenario. Heavy periods can lead to low iron levels, some of his friends have talked to him about they’re struggles with it.
He’s content with his conclusion for about five seconds, before a third alternative takes over his mind.
Lady Adette didn’t keep her vampire identity a secret from him for long after they met, but it’s not a part of herself she talks about a lot. Still, it’s hard to ignore her pale skin paired with her bright red eyes, and the fangs he can’t seem to keep his eyes off whenever she smiles. Low iron levels would, for most people, probably be the cause of a heavy period or a wound, but for a vampire like her…
“Oh…” Terrin says when he realizes. Her eyes have a concern in them, but she gives him a light smile.
He looks closer at her, and he notices that her eyes have a duller color than usual.
“I don’t, uhm..” Terrin continues. “Apologies if I overstep too much, my lady, but how exactly do vampires get their nutrition? I can make assumptions based on rumors of course, but I wouldn’t want to staple those as true without an actual statement from one of your kind..”
His concern for her boundaries makes her chuckle quietly, and she concludes that she trusts him enough to talk of these matters.
“Vampires get most of their strength and nutrition from blood, as I assume have been said in these rumors and stories you talk of,” she begins, keeping her attention on Terrins hand on hers.
“ Not drinking that blood for a longer period of time will cause fatigue and dizziness for most. I-I haven’t really had a chance lately, and these past few days those symptoms have really caught up with me.”
She glances up at him to look for a reaction, and is met with compassion in his eyes.
“Does drinking blood require the death of another person?” he asks carefully, and her eyebrows shoot up.
“Not at all! If there are still vampires that kill for blood, I don’t know anything about them. I would never wish the death of another for the sake of my own relief.”
She pauses for a moment, a bit of shame and embarrassment in her eyes.
“There are many different ways of acquiring blood of course, but the most efficient is obviously to extract it directly from someone. It’s mostly harmless, it will rarely result in any remarkable damage.”
The more she speaks, the more tired she sounds. Sharing her thoughts also allows her to relax, but no longer keeping the facade makes her exhaustion more prominent.
Terrin can feel the worry in his chest, and a guilt that there’s not anything he can do to help. Unless…
“Could…” He hesitates for a moment. “Could I be of help?”
She blinks once, twice, a confused expression on her face.
“What?”
“Could I, perhaps, uh-, you could…” He doesn’t have to complete his proposition before she answers.
“I can’t ask that of you, Terrin!” Her eyes are wide, her eyebrows lowered with concern.
“You just said it’s a fairly harmless process.”
“But it’s still a painful one!”
“Is it?”
She stays quiet, and he continues.
“I can’t imagine it hurts more than wounds I’ve gotten in training or during excursions. And I want to help.”
His expression is earnest, his hand gripping hers. She stares at him for another moment, before she sighs and lowers her gaze.
“Are you certain?”
“I am. It pains me to see you like this.”
This earns him a smile and a quiet laugh.
“Goodness,” she huffs as she shifts closer to him. “What did I do to deserve someone like you?”
That’s the last thing she says before her lips are on his.
The kiss is tender at first, her hand moving to rest around his face, she can feel his face fluster against her palm. She sighs quietly, and he reaches his arms around her to pull her closer. The kiss grows more prominent, her lips move carefully against his. He can feel the outline of her fangs through her lips, they stick out slightly more than the rest of her teeth, their points mere millimeters away from him..
Does that excite him???
Adette backs away a bit.
“Still certain?” she asks.
Terrin places a kiss on her cheek.
“Mhm,” he hums against her skin.
“Please let me know at once if you change your mind. Tell me ‘stop’ or tap me or pinch me or anything. Is that understood?” Her eyes are firm on him.
“Yes, my lady,” he replies, a trusting smile on his face.
“I’ll try my best to ease you into it,” she mumbles as she leans in again, the kiss quickly gaining its passion from earlier. One of her hands is still on his face, the other moves to his shoulder, running gently over it. Terrin tries to keep a steady breath as their lips move, but it hitches when Adettes tongue makes its way past her lips to meet his own.
Warmth is filling his face, moving to his ears and neck. He leans away slightly and tries to catch his breath, and Adette immediately moves on to place kisses along his jaw.
Her lips linger for a moment at a time, and her hands move to the collar of Terrins shirt. She unbuttons the first, second, third button, and he lets out a shaky breath. As her kisses lowers down to his neck, she shifts the shirt aside, exposing the skin there.
Terrin has now leaned back into the couch behind him, eyes closed, focusing on her lips and nothing else. The kisses against his neck sends a gentle shiver down his spine, warmth building in his chest. Then Adettes tongue carefully makes its way over his skin, and he lets out a strained hum. He can feel her smile against his neck at that, and she takes it as an invitation to continue.
Terrin takes deep breaths as her kisses and licks meet his neck, his face a deep red. Adettes hand is still on his shoulder, now partially under his shirt to keep it out of the way. He’s starting to relax, but then Adette hums against his skin as she places yet another kiss, and a whimper escapes him. He raises his hand to cover his mouth at that, embarrassed of his lack of control to keep quiet, but she gently takes his hand and moves it away from his face, returning it to its place on her waist.
Adettes kisses grow deeper, his skin tingles as she gently sucks, likely leaving a mark for later. He doesn’t care. He makes an effort to keep his lips shut, but she can undoubtedly hear the whimpers that make their way up his throat.
Adette pauses for a moment, and retracts just enough to take some breaths herself. She considers checking in on him one more time, but concludes against it. He seems to be enjoying himself.
She opens her mouth, and sets her fangs into his skin.
The pain is sudden and sharp, and the moan Terrin lets out is mostly from the shock, although it would be a lie to say it wasn’t caused by pleasure as well. The pain quickly lessens however, and he lets out a shaky breath. Her hand is running soothingly over his shoulder, and he tries to focus on that, rather than the feeling of his blood seeping in through her teeth.
It doesn’t take more than a minute, but time moves slowly for them both. Terrin had worried if the pain would be overwhelming, but it bothers him even less than he had expected. She’d said she would ease him into it, and either she did a good job at that, or Terrin has a bigger thing for her teeth than he thought.
Adette backs away, Terrin feels the fangs retreat from his skin. She sighs heavily, and glances down at his neck. The two circular bite marks are quite visual, as are the red markings from her earlier kisses. A drop of blood trickles down from one of the bite marks, and she gently licks it away. She places a soft kiss against the sore skin, in an effort to soothe it. Then she leans back and looks at him.
His face is a bright red, but a content smile greets her. He lifts his hand to brush away some blood from the corner of her mouth. She holds his hand in place as she licks that away as well, and he chuckles quietly.
“Are you doing alright?” she asks him, still wanting his thoughts on the whole ordeal despite his relaxed body language.
“I am,” he says, and presses a quick kiss to her lips. “Are you alright?”
Adette takes a moment to reflect over her wellbeing, she’s already feeling less exhausted.
“I’m feeling much better,” she says. “Like I’ve just had a refreshing glass of water after a day out in the sun. Thank you Terrin”
He gives her hand a gentle squeeze, and Adettes leans away from him and back into the couch cushions.
“Oh…” Terrin says, a bit of disappointment in his voice. She glances over at him.
“Oh what?”
“No, it's alright… we don't- we don't have to..” He's keeping his gaze away from hers, a hint of embarrassment in his eyes.
“Don’t have to what?” Adette pushes, a slight tease in her tone.
“...continue,” he mumbles, and carefully looks up at her. She's already close to him when he does, and her lips find their now familiar place on his.
