   ”Touya-nii,” Shoto’s mouth felt dry but sticky at the same time. “Did you adopt me?”

   Touya fell silent. He worried his piercings with his teeth. Then, after a moment, he nodded. Shoto felt his heart spasm in his chest.

   ”Couldn’t leave you in that house,” Touya shrugged, casual though he was still chewing the piercings. “Not after what mum did to you and what dad did to her. Turns out, a bunch of court members agreed with me, and dad wasn’t dumb enough to cause a scandal by refusing to sign the papers.”
