Work Text:
Law was grocery shopping when he saw his crush across the store. He walked to another aisle, the bread one. He shrugged internally, he supposed he needed bread.
He was browsing through the different kinds of bread, when he heard a familiar voice coming from behind him.
“Hey, Law. Is that you?” Law was speechless as he turned around, seeing Ace standing in front of him. As soon as he saw his face, Ace smiled and said, “It is you. Hey. Nice to see you.”
Law couldn’t help but smile too. Ace always seemed to bring a smile to his face, even when he himself couldn’t.
That smile fell when he saw Ace looking up. He alway had to look up a bit while talking to Law, due to their height difference and all, but that was too much. He looked up too and saw mistletoe hanging from the ceiling. He cursed under his breath as he looked back to Ace, who was looking at him with a smile that had reached his ears.
“Well, it’s rude to break tradition, don’t you think?” He said with a smile never leaving his face. Law nodded without thinking, then widened his eyes as Ace stepped closer to him.
He finally put the pieces together as Ace placed a hand on his face. He was so gentle with it that if he wasn’t already in love with his best friend, he would probably just fall all over again.
“Can I kiss you?” He asked with a hair of space between them, Law nodded and, before he knew it, their lips were meeting.
Ace’s lips against his felt like heaven, like everything would be okay, and it probably would be, since Ace was the one to have started this. He sighed into the kiss, feeling Ace’s laugh against his lips and feeling relieved.
They would be fine, more than fine. They finally had each other.
