Let Me In: Aftershow Remastered

March 1983, The exact day is unknown, even to Owen. But he didn’t really care much. After the day he had, he’s just happy to be out of Los Amos. It went to shit so fast, but then it turned up so fast too. But now what? He was on a train with his soulmate, going to Santa Fe to at least get away for the time being. But then what? It felt like he’s been on this train forever. He got on around 11am, and it departed around 11:30, but still, it's been taking forever. He got up a few times to go to the bathroom or stretch his legs, but he mostly stayed seated to avoid any suspicion from anyone who could get a good look at him. He tried to get up again before, but he heard tapping on the trunk. It was from Abby, his girlfriend. Just to get it out of the way: Abby is indeed a vampire. Just getting it out there. She sensed him leave and got a bit distressed, so he had to come back to reassure her that he wasn’t going anywhere. He checked his watch. “6:45 PM.” Only a bit longer. Owen stared out the window before he began to feel drowsy. Before he knew it, he was asleep.

“NOW ENTERING: SANTA FE STATION.”

Owen woke up with a start, the PA system scared him. He collected himself and checked the time. 7:15PM. He looked out the window and saw the train slowing down, it got dark, not too dark, but the sun was gone. He sighed in relief as he looked up at the sign above him. “ENTERING SANTA FE STATION”.  He heard tapping, coming from inside the case. It was Abby. “O-U-T, I-W-A-N-T-T-O-S-E-E-Y-O-U”. Owen didn’t hesitate. He opened the trunk, and the second it was unlocked Abby leaped out and hugged Owen, clinging onto him, not wanting to let go. “Hey..” Owen started. Abby looked at him, her eyes glowing blue as she smiled. “I missed you in there, you know that?” Abby asked. Owen chuckled a bit. “I was right here you know..” Owen stated. Abby playfully pouted. “I know.. But still, I don’t like being away from you, I missed you. I missed seeing your face…” Abby smiled. She caressed his cheek and kissed his nose. “Your adorable face….” Owen blushed and was about to kiss her when Abby’s ears perked up. “Are we here?” Abby asked. Owen snapped out of his daze and nodded. “Yeah, we’re here, we’ve been on the train for a while,” Owen remarked. Abby smiled and closed her trunk, before picking it up. It still amazed Owen that she could pick it up with ease. She could probably pick him up with ease too. She motioned for him to follow.

When they got off the train, the train station seemed busier than usual, A man shouted angrily on the phone, and conductors called trains. Owen placed a hood over his head, to avoid being noticed, or even worse, recognized. “So, where are we going?” Owen asked with curiosity. Abby didn’t respond at first, just still walking. “...Abby?” Owen asked.  Abby perked up, seemingly snapping out of her daze. “Huh?” Abby asked. “I asked where are we going..” Owen said with some concern. Abby smiled, seemingly happy that Owen was interested. “Well, we’re gonna find a place, ok? I don’t really want to spend the night in a motel again, so we’ll just find a place…” Abby said, but she seemed to be trailing off a bit, her mood changing just as fast. She seemed sheepish. “And then..well…we’ll take it from there…” Owen gave a weak smile. He was a little uncertain, but he trusted Abby, but what more concerned him was her change in demeanor. “Are you alright?” Owen asked. Abby looked back at Owen and smiled. “Y-Yeah! I’m fine, perfectly fine Honey!” Abby reassured. It took Owen a second to process what Abby said. Once he did, he turned 3 shades of red. “H-H-Honey?” Owen asked. Abby turned red when she realized too, and giggled. “...Y-Yeah! Honey!” Abby giggled. Abby sped up her pace as Owen followed.

They looked at a few houses, but none seemed to fit them before they eventually found one, a black one with a few windows. Going to be a bit of a problem for Abby, but that’s not a problem right now. “Follow my lead, my love..” Abby assured. Abby Knocked on the door and glanced a smile at Owen. A man in his late 70s opened the door. He was in his pajamas as if he were getting ready for bed. “What do you lot want?” He asked. “Hi, me and my brother want to know if we could use your phone. We got lost and we want to let our mom know that we’re ok.” Abby lied. The man stared for a bit, processing the request before nodding. “Yeah, sure.” The man replied. “Can we come in?” Abby asked. The man looked puzzled, before nodding. “Yeah, you can come in.” He said, not understanding. He walked in as Abby and Owen followed.

Inside the house was a brown couch, a kitchen, and a TV. There were a few windows and a hallway, possibly leading to other rooms in the apartment. The man turned the TV on, and a commercial was about to play, but it was interrupted by a breaking news report. “Breaking News, Police are on the search for 12-year-old Owen Mason, who went missing last night in the Los Amos swimming pool, the sight of a brutal murder of teenage youths. The Bodies were recovered but Owen Mason was not found at the scene of the crime. His mother, Samantha Mason was not available for comment at the moment.” The News Report stated. A photo of Owen was shown on the screen. It was an older photo, but it still looked like him. The man stared at the photo before his eyes went wide. He looked at Owen as Owen stared back, his eyes wide with fear. Abby looked at the man, her eyes becoming yellow. “... You're not gonna take him away from me,” Abby stated. Before the man could say anything, Abby leaped onto him, biting down on his neck. He didn’t stand a chance. It was quick, but it sure as hell wasn’t painless. The man hit the ground with a thud as blood pooled everywhere, his neck was being destroyed and maimed by Abby. The Man screamed, but it was quickly muffled when Owen ran up and covered his mouth. It was all hell for him, but all heaven for Abby. She was almost under a spell ravaging the old man. All she really cared about was Owen’s safety. Soon it was done, and she snapped his neck. “...There, it's done…Did I go a bit too far?” Abby asked. Owen uncovered the man’s mouth and shut his eyes. He seemed a bit shaken up. “A-A bit. What happened?” Owen asked. “I got scared when he saw your face on the TV. I thought he was gonna try to take you away from me. I couldn’t let that happen. You understand that, right?” Abby asked, hopeful. Owen nodded. “Yeah, I’d probably do the same thing if I were you..” Owen joked. Abby snickered. “Don’t joke about that!” Abby said with mock disgust. Abby smiled before she noticed that Owen seemed a bit shaken up. She got up and hugged him. “You're ok.. We’ll be ok..alright?” Abby assured. Owen smiled and hugged her back. “Y-Yeah..” Owen replied. Abby looked back at the dead man. “..We’re gonna need to take care of this.” Abby stated. Owen sighed. “I’ll dispose of it,” Owen remarked. “Wait, let me break it up for you, it should make the whole process easier. I’m gonna put it in multiple bags ok?” Abby asked. “Yeah, that’ll work,” Owen said. “Step out of the room, I don’t wanna scar you even more..” Abby joked.

After Abby dismembered the body and placed it in three separate bags, she helped Owen take them to the front door. “I'm gonna go shower, ok?” Abby mentioned. Owen nodded and picked up the first two bags with ease. Abby covered her mouth in shock and turned red. “...What?” Owen asked. “N-Nothing, I just didn't realize how strong you were…” Abby blushed. Owen chuckled. “I guess that weight class really helped..” Owen suggested. Abby smiled at her lover and kissed his nose. “If you're in danger, just call me and I'll be there, ok?” Abby asked. Owen nodded. “Alright, Abby..”

The first two bags weren't really a struggle, probably not having much in them, but the third one was slightly heavier than the other two. Probably having more of the heavier body parts. It wasn't too much of a problem, he just had to avoid being seen. He saw stray cats, some rats running about, and the occasional dog here or there. Soon, he finally got to the dumpster and dumped the body in. He was done at last. Looking inside, he could see a few things, like a broken chair, a sign saying M&A Harmony Toys, a Ripped poster from the Rat & Cat Theatre, a few garbage bags and…huh? What's that? Owen reached down and pulled out a toy rabbit. It was golden, with a red vest and gloves. It had a speaker on its chest, it seemed to be missing something. It was a bit dirty but other than that it smelt fine. “What are you?” Owen asked, not expecting to get an answer. Seemingly in response, The toy shot to life, its eyes and jaw moving rapidly. “H-Hi! I-I wanna be y-your friend!” The toy spoke, before quickly shutting down. Owen gasped and almost dropped the toy out of surprise. “Jesus that scared me!” Owen thought to himself. He looked around….no one was nearby. “Maybe Abby would like this…” Owen thought to himself. He took the toy with him and left the dumpster.

When he returned, he found Abby sitting on the couch watching TV. When she saw him, all her attention became focused on him. Almost like lightning, Abby pounced on Owen, nuzzling and hugging him. “Your back!!” Abby cheered. It was kind of cute, almost like a puppy with their owner. Owen was turning bright red, which Abby was absolutely relishing in. She got off of him, smiling, before she noticed he was holding something. “What’s that?” Abby asked. Owen pulled the toy Rabbit from behind his back, which surprisingly wasn’t damaged from under his weight. “Here...I found it while I was throwing the body away and I thought you’d like it…” Owen replied sheepishly. Abby’s face became one of Awe's as she quickly ran up to Owen and took the golden rabbit, filled with glee. “Oh Owen, thank you!” Abby cheered. She put the rabbit down and kissed Owen. It made Owen turn red. “N-No Problem Abby..” Owen said sheepishly. Abby picked up the toy and turned it on. “F-F-F-Freddy Fazbear’s is the greatest place in the world!” The Plush toy said. “It's so cute! I was actually watching something with this little guy in it too!” Abby exclaimed. Owen tilted his head. “You were?” He asked. Abby nodded and pointed at the TV, which had a video of Fredbear, Barnaby Bunny, Rosie Porkchop, and Sparky the Hounddog on it. “...I wanna go there someday, you know when I’m not hiding…” Abby sighed. “Maybe we can go in a few months… Like…a date..?” Owen suggested. Abby grinned. “That sounds amazing..” Abby said with wonder. Owen’s stomach grumbled. He hasn’t eaten in a few hours.. Abby’s eyes grew wide. “Oh my lord, I forgot you need to eat!” Abby shouted. Owen chuckled. “It's fine, there's gotta be something around here..” Owen said.

After Abby got Owen something to eat, Owen began to get tired. It was a long 2 days after all. Abby understood this so they found a place to stay for the night, an attic without windows. There were two old Mattresses up there and some blankets on them. Abby and Owen lay down next to eachother and just talked to eachother, the golden toy rabbit leaning against a box. Soon, Owen fell asleep.

Around 3:39AM, Owen woke up to the sound of Abby breathing heavily as if she was nervous about something. Owen turned towards her and touched her head softly. This made Abby squeal in fear for a minute, jolting back to realize it was just Owen. To be honest, it was quite funny hearing Abby Squeal. “Oh god, Owen you scared me,” Abby gasped. “...Are you alright?” Owen asked with concern. “Yeah...I’m fine.” Abby said. “Can’t sleep..you know?” Owen stared at her. “...No, that's not it. You were like this earlier.” Owen stated. Abby’s mood changed to defeat as she sighed and faced away from Owen. “...I’m scared,” Abby admitted. “Scared of what?” Owen asked. “Scared of dragging you into my life. Don’t get me wrong, I love you to death, but I’m scared of what's gonna happen, I’m scared that you’re just gonna grow old and rot away…Like Thomas, or worse…” Abby sighed. Owen hugged Abby from behind. “I’m not, you wanna know why?” Owen asked. “...Why?” Abby asked. “Cause..I wanna be like you.” Owen said. Abby’s eyes widen. “What..?” Abby asked, turning around to face Owen. “I wanna..be a vampire like you, so we can stay together forever…” Owen said. “O-Owen..do you know what you're saying…?” Abby asked with fear. “Yeah… but is there really any other option?” Owen asked. Abby sighed. “No... there isn’t… Owen…?” Abby asked. “Yeah?” Abby looked at Owen before tears began to well up in her eyes. She kissed Owen before giving him a big hug. “...Thank you..” Abby greeted. “No problem,” Owen replied. Abby stopped hugging Owen and looked at him. “There is something before I turn you.” Abby began. “What is it?” Owen asked. “...I wanna let you grow up a bit, not too much, just by a year, March 1984, I’ll turn you… how about that? I just want you to enjoy being a human a bit longer before we can’t turn back. Ok?” Abby suggested. Owen seemed a bit sad, but she was right. “Alright, Honey.. We can do that..” Owen admitted. Abby smiled in delight, hearing Owen call her honey, and hugged him. “I love you Owen..my sweet Owen..” Abby declared. “I love you too…

“My sweet Abby…”

         January 25th, 1984

It was a snowy January 25th, 1984, the months before were amazing and full of wonder. Granted, they had to flee their last house due to the Police getting involved, but it was ok, they found a new one anyway. Owen was writing something on a desk when Abby entered the apartment through the window. She immediately rocketed towards him and kissed his cheek. “Hi Owen…” Abby said, her voice filled with love. Owen turned red. “H-H-Hi Honey… how was it? Owen asked. Abby sighed. “Not good… Didn’t find anything…” Abby admitted. Owen kissed her back. “Sorry… Maybe you’ll find something next round?” Owen suggested. Abby smiled and walked away, loving her boyfriend’s enthusiasm. But that’s when she stopped. She could feel herself losing herself. Going feral. Her mind slowly began to grow fuzzy as she tried to fight it. ”No..No..Not NOW! NOT NOW PLEASE!” She thought to herself. But she couldn’t fight it. She tried to leave the apartment, to get as far away from Owen as possible… but she couldn’t. Soon… it took over. Her Feral side.

Owen just finished writing when he heard something. He turned around and saw Abby standing in the doorway. “Oh hi, Honey!” Owen waved. But then he stopped. His heart sank as he noticed his lover’s eyes. They were glowing yellow, she bared her fangs and growled. She hadn’t eaten in a while, she had gone feral. “Abby, no, its me, Owen!” Owen begged. But Abby was unresponsive. With a swift Motion, Abby leaped at Owen, but he quickly dogged it, rolling across the bed. She slammed into the wall, but she bounced back and shook herself off. Owen darted out of the room. “Shit, Shit, Shit!” Owen thought to himself. This WASN’T good. Abby would be like this for a while until she got something to eat.. And HE was on the menu. Abby sprinted on the walls, barking like a rabid wolf. Owen grabbed a fire extinguisher and when Abby leaped at him, he slammed it against her head. It wasn’t enough to kill her, but it put her down. It bent the fire extinguisher a bit too. Owen made a sigh of relief and walked out of the kitchen. But Abby wasn’t going down that easily. She leaped up and sprinted towards Owen, crashing him through the front door of the apartment. They were at a high level of the apartment complex and they fell all the way down to the ground level, with Abby Bit into Owen’s neck on the way down. When they hit the ground, there was a loud thud, which snapped Abby out of her trance. She looked down and screamed in anguish. Owen wasn’t too injured, but his neck had a huge hole in it, but he was still alive, but clearly in a lot of pain. “NOOOOO! NOOOO! OWEN!!! MY BABY NOO!!!” Abby screamed over and over. “A–A-Abby…” Owen tried to say. Abby picked up Owen and flew back into their apartment before anyone could see them. She quickly grabbed the mandatory first aid kit and covered up Owen’s wounds. “A-Abby..” Owen tried to speak, but Abby silenced him. “Shh..Shh.. no..don’t speak Owen..Please… for me… Just close your eyes and fall asleep…” Abby begged. “It..Hurts…” Owen gasped. Abby’s eyes welled with tears. “I’m so sorry, Owen. I’m so sorry.” She stroked his hair gently. “I’m going to fix this. I promise.” Owen's breathing grew shallow as his eyes fluttered closed. Abby knew she had no time to waste. She had promised to turn him in March, but it couldn’t wait any longer. She had to save him now. With trembling hands, she bared her fangs and bit down gently on his neck, letting her venom seep into his bloodstream. Abby whispered softly, “I love you, Owen. You’re going to be okay. You’re going to be like me.” The process was quick but excruciating. Owen’s body convulsed, and his eyes shot open, glowing with a new intensity. Abby held him tightly, whispering soothing words as he transformed.

Hours passed, but to Abby, it felt like an eternity. It even became daylight at some point, so Abby had to take the now passed-out Owen with her to her room. When Night fell, Owen woke up, gasping. He looked around, trying to adjust to his new sight. “A-A-Abby…?” He asked. Abby’s eyes shot awake and she immediately hugged him. “OWEN! YOUR ALRIGHT!!” Abby squealed with glee. He felt his neck. It was almost like nothing happened. “...Did you..?” Owen began to say, but Abby cut him off with a kiss. “Yeah..I didn’t have a choice. I didn’t want to lose you.. I love you…I love you so f**king much…” Abby confessed.  Owen smiled. “Thank you for saving me..” Owen said, hugging her. Tears welled up in Abby’s eyes. “No problem…” Abby replied.

A few days later, around 1:23AM, a Man was walking down the road smoking a cigar. It was cold as all hell, but he didn’t care. He wasn’t paying attention so he bumped into a little girl, It was Abby. She turned around and stared up at him. “Hello,” Abby started. The Man looked around. “Uh..Hi. What do you want?” The man asked. “Do you have anything to eat? I haven’t eaten anything in a while…” Abby lied. Her stomach growled. “What are you, homeless? Here.” The man said, pulling out a Snickers and giving it to Abby. “Thank you, you know, you deserve something. Close your eyes.” Abby commanded..  The man rolled his eyes and closed them. “Now,” Abby Whispered. Owen jumped down from a railing and tackled the man, making him fall to the ground. “HEY WHAT THE F**K?! WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA-” The man began to say. Owen growled and bit into his neck, making the man scream in pain. He tried to call for help, but he couldn’t when Abby covered his mouth. Owen snapped the man’s neck, killing him. “Want some?” Owen asked. “Oh, don’t mind if I do!” Abby agreed, giggling. She crawled over and bit into the man, enjoying the feast.
