"Do you think we'll stay by each others side forever?" Asked Vega. That was not a question Stella expected to hear from someone like Vega. Confused, she replied with the most obvious answer. "Of course we are." A long silence followed through. "That's good, I'm glad that you want us to stay close even after graduation." Oh. So that's what got her to ask such questions. Stella merely chuckled at the thought, "Where else would I be if not by your side?" Said Stella as a soft smile graced her tanned face. Vega could only wonder how such a gorgeous girl like Stella could smile at her that way. After that, no one else spoke a single word, both of them basking in comfortable silence as they watched the shooting star grace the dark sky with its shining light.

As years went by, Vega and Stella went to the same university but in different courses. Even then, both of them still kept in contact and were as close as one can be. Nothing can separate them, even with their day and night personalities. Some people even thought they were dating.
Stella's pov
That's just ridiculous. How can they think that? Two girls can't be in love with each other. At least, that's what Stella was taught as a young child. It won't look pleasing to the eyes of others. Stella values her familys opinions, just like how she values Vega's approval. In a way, it could be seen as if Stella is worshipping Vega in every way she can. If others had a more morally correct way of thinking, but Vega doesn't, she would choose Vega and stay with her. Well, she did say that she would always stay by her side no matter what, right? Vega was her saving grace. Her eve. Nobody sees Vega the way Stella does, her alluring eyes that always find her way to Stellas' very own eyes. Her elegant aura that she exudes. Vega is truly a sculpture sculpted by god.
How can one be so effortlessly magnificent without even trying??? Ah. Stella thought, two girls could fall in love with each other. It's just whether society accepts it or not.
Vega's pov
Vega had always thought Stella was someone too good to be true. For Vega, it wasn't love at first sight. It was actually love at the second sight. When she had finally gotten to know Stella better. For all her worth, Stella was truly an angel in disguise. How could someone so kind exist? Vega thought those types of people only existed in fairytales and movies. No one in this ugly world can be that kind, but it seems Stella is an exception to that flaw. Maybe it's due to her upbringing in a religious household or if she truly was born to be that kind. Vega, for one, wasn't a believer of having an overseer, but she did know some stuff about it. Stella did sometimes go on a tangent about what she was taught as a child. That is exactly why Vega blocked away those feelings for her. In Stella's mind, two genders of the same sex can not be in love with each other. That was the very moment Vega kept those feelings of hers for 4 years. Never to be seen or heard. The feelings that she no longer has or so she thinks no longer has will never be able to reach out to the precious person that Stella is. Their friendship is too precious for her. Plus, Stella would be disgusted with Vega.
Vega wasn't a man, after all.
Third person pov
"Vega! I have something to tell you." Said Stella. Curious Vega only raised an eyebrow. Seeing this, Stella took it as a sign to continue, "I am in love with you!" Stella exclaimed loudly. Shock was written all over Vega's face. This can't be happening. All those years of burning those feelings away just for this to happen?
No
no
NO!
"You're lying." That was the only thing Vega could utter. What else was she supposed to say? Stella merely smiled sweetly. "No silly! I'm saying the truth!" Vega stared at her with a horrified expression. She took a deep breath before releasing a shaky breath. "Stella... Are you forgetting what your family told you about this.. kind of relationship?" Stella's smile dropped slightly, a nervous laugh escaped her mouth "haha..Well I'm sure it'll be fine.. I mean, they won't need to find out, right?" An exasperated sigh came out of Vega. Honestly, what was she expecting, Stella could be quite the airhead sometimes. "Stella, I don't want us to hide our relationship, I want us to be able to express our love openly, and I don't want you to walk on eggshells around your family." Vega gives Stella a sad smile,"which is why I can't accept your confession as much as I want to. I just can't bear with the thought of you doing something you know you're not supposed to."

Tears start to fall down like a waterfall on Stella's face. She hates it. She hates how correct Vega is. As much as she loved her, Stella knew she couldn't stand the thought of her family not wanting her. Stella cried and cried. Meanwhile, Vega could only look at her with an unreadable expression, and so she stood in front of Stella silently. Vega put her hand on Stella's shoulder, making Stella look up to her.
"I'm sorry it had to be like this," said Vega as she left a sobbing Stella behind.
