Chapter Text
“Wait no- I’m straight!”
———
The White Society. Long story short, they’re a group of people who get around worlds to control order.
When stories and manga get too complicated or have been running for a period of time, the characters get too out of the authors control, sometimes going off script. That’s when the White Society steps in, adding people into the stories to act as a new character, guiding the other characters back to the desired path of the authors.
Sometimes they may act like a new character and leave after an arc, but if it was a one time thing, some would just straight up tell them. Example, to skip certain enemies and throw them towards bosses for plot purposes. While the society members try to get the job done, authors are asked to add a chapter of another character to buy time.
Then there was Tsukasa, long time member of the White Society.
He was guaranteed to be a popular character in every story he needs to be in. Sometimes he just needs to throw characters around, but he would definitely steal the spotlight for even a split moment.
He’s a good choice if you’d want your story to stay stable. He could stay in stories long enough and play as a an actual character while receiving commands, making him a very popular figure among authors who plan on writing long stories.
“I heard your previous story finally ended, good job Tsukasa.”
“Mm, you too Nene, thanks for the update on the last boss fights.”
Kusanagi Nene, another member of the White Society, direct messenger to Tsukasa. She is in charge of giving commands to Tsukasa from authors, also his therapist.
“No time for breaks, here’s your next commission.”
Handing Tsukasa a clipboard for info, Nene started clicking on documents again.
“Most of the information are still unknown, are you sure? The only thing I know is um-“
Flipping through the clipboard, everything was nearly blank. Everything was vague and even the basic setting was nothing more than simple instructions.
“Male lead, purple hair, green highlights… Rui Kamishiro?”
“Can’t help it, this is the authors’s fifth work. Always have been top seller. We can’t exactly deny her requests again.”
Sighing, Nene spun in her chair, hoping that Tsukasa won’t cause a fuss.
“But- How do I do this?! This is impossi-“
Ah, there it is. Tsukasa’s doubtful personality. But luckily, Nene has been immune to this long enough.
“But you’re Tenma Tsukasa right?”
Flashing a grin to Tsukasa, the blonde’s eyes widen, immediately turning into a blushing mess to the compliment.
“Heheh……”
Nene sipped on her tea and gave herself a pat on the back.
Another day, another Tsukasa.
———
With almost no information about the story, Tsukasa took his basic weapons just in case.
Checking his bullets and his connection with Nene on his earpiece, he reckoned if the story was really a story about magic or weapons, the world would have more than he needed anyways.
“Hello? Can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear Tsukasa~”
He chuckled then stepped in the portal in full gear, ready to fight (if any) enemy waiting for him on the other side.
———
“Eh wait-“
Imagining a person in full weapon gear, yet in now in a common teenage boys room.
Manga, magazines, some sort of textbooks and figures, all scattered on the floor.
The curtains were closed shut, leaving just a small amount of sunlight leaking through the cracks.
“Tsukasa what’s your current situation?”
“Wait- I’ll send you the pictures, it seems like a normal room.”
Sending the pictures, Tsukasa further looked around the room, tidying it along the way.
Flipping through notebooks, it seemed like the boy wasn’t good at maths yet had a great passion for Japanese. Enrolled in Kamizaki High School, about to start his new high school life. For convenience, his character was also called “Tenma Tsukasa”.
“I’ve sent the pictures to Mizuki for further research, but just from our current situation, it seems like either the story hasn’t hit the point of “bombing the world”, or maybe you’re just lucky and you’ve actually been commissioned to a normal story.”
Opening the curtains, Tsukasa coughed at the wavering dust from the wind. If he actually landed in a normal world, he’s for sure going to wash the curtains.
“I’ll bring my gun just in case. To blend in, I’ll just wear whatever is in the boys close-“
“Tsukasa, I made dinner toda- That outfit…?”
Another blonde suddenly entered the room, a girl with two side ponytails. Her eyes widen at Tsukasa’s attire, visibly shocked.
“Ah, I was um- cosplaying as a new character. I’ll come down in a bit.”
Lucky~ Tsukasa chanted to himself. Remembering the boy reads manga, he reckoned it would work as an excuse.
The girl skips down the stairs with a smile after a nod, leaving Tsukasa in his room to figure out the rest.
“I think this will be more tiring than the stories with actions….”
———
Tsukasa Tenma. 1st year of High school. Has a sister named Saki Tenma. Knows how to make costumes.
That’s the best he could make out of his room while organising. After eating dinner, he used a random excuse to leave then house for a small walk.
Nothing special, just like Nene said.
“A normal story.”
Wandering the streets, he wondered and mentally prepared for what was waiting for him while silently cursing at the author for giving him a mental breakdown.
He wasn’t the male lead, nor has he met the “Rui Kamishiro” guy, so he can guarantee that he hasn’t made his debut in the story yet.
Walking in the convenience store, he scrambled for a pack of milk until a soft male voice rang behind him.
“I don’t want to bother but, you’re kinda in the way.”
“Ah sorry-“
Wanting to pay, Tsukasa turned to pay, meeting eyes with the man.
Purple hair, green highlights. He also had cat eyes, flashing a soft smile.
“Rui Kamishir-“
———
Was that his debut? Was it not? Was it just a random coincidence?
Tsukasa rolled in his bed, mumbling incoherent insults while stuffing the pillow into his face.
If that was his first impression to the audience…
Well fuck that, the author didn’t give him a specific character to act, he should be free to be what he wants to be.
It was until his phone had a slight ring, a message notification popping up.
[ Hello, I’m Rui Kamishiro! Can you marry me? ♡ ]
———
The moment Rui met eyes with Tsukasa, it felt like the world stopped.
His breathe was still, yet it felt like everything stopped.
The setting was so simple yet… enchanting.
Rui was so close to buying the whole box of milk on spot just to catch Tsukasa off guard and get more time with him.
As he walked home, his brain only kept replying the scene. He didn’t even remember his purpose of going to the store.
As if he was a robot, he arrived home and started typing away. Blonde, yellow eyes, pink ends, lives nearby.
He found it. Tenma Tsukasa. Facebook and Instagram.
Honestly he was a little scared of himself at this point. He could only hear a slight whirring in his ears, Tsukasa’s voice echoing in his mind.
Stuck in his dark room, his cursor stayed on the follow and message request for more than three minutes, staring into the screen.
Not exaggerating, he at least spent 10 minutes typing his first message, to which he even went online to see how you open conversations with your crush.
Of course, the thought that this was just a misunderstanding and his heart malfunctioning has seeped through thousands of times, but once the gaze of Tsukasa’s eyes appear in his head again, his brain goes dead again.
Concluding what he’s learnt from the internet, he’s left with three points. Be polite, state your name, your purpose.
To which he frantically types his words, forcing a grin as he did.
[ Hello, I’m Rui Kamishiro! Can you marry me? ♡ ]
———
“So the female lead is Yuki…”
“Can I bet she’s some cold council president and her cool demeanour attracts the attention of the male lead and-“
Finishing his tie to his uniform, Tsukasa had his final call with Nene to confirm what he and the society knew so far from the author.
If he was right, Rui would be in the same school as him, him as a side character.
According to the author, it also didn’t seems to be a story with twist and turns, a plain love story. Tsukasa could finally have a break from all the action themed games and maybe also hope for another side character to be written, to be paired with him.
What a time to fall in love~
Of course, he didn’t forget he had to basically push Rui and Yuki around to get them together as the story goes along, but he reckons he’s had enough experience from other stories.
The walk to school wasn’t far but it was a calm walk, and even though it was getting slightly windy, the cardigan was more than enough.
“Wait I think I have a message I haven’t replied from yesterd-“
To which he was met with a purple haired man pouncing on him. Despite his strength, he was very much caught off guard, close to tripping.
Yet, the man wrapped his arms around the blonde’s neck so naturally, leaning forward and close to Tsukasa’s face, flashing a bright smile.
“Tsukasa! Marry me!”
“Wait no- I’m straight!”
