Chapter Text
“Okay but why exactly a Catholic school?” Remus asked looking at his parents. He’d just found out that he would be switching schools for the start of high school. Apparently his grandmother had offered to pay for it. “Because she wants you to learn her faith” his mother said looking displeased with the situation.
“It’s a good school Academically” his father said sounding like he was trying to convince himself of this.
Remus’s father had never been to found of his mother in law. She, as he would put it, was a crotchety old woman who hated evolution. His distaste only worsened when Remus was diagnosed with epilepsy. She would try to pray the disease out of him.
It took a while but they found medication that significantly reduced his seizures.
“You’re very lucky not many people get in.” His mom said the next day as they began to pack his bags. “Yeah I know” he said closing his suit case. His mother kissed him on the head before leaving the room.
Remus was excited about the new school but was also quite nervous. He was going to a Catholic school and he was not catholic. He fell asleep easily that night deciding he could be a worry wort tomorrow.

“You will go to this school and you will stop with all of this anti-God shenanigans you have going on here.” Sirius heard his mother state as she drove him to the train station. “Then you will return and once you graduate you will marry a nice girl from our church.”
Sirius sighted resigning himself to his fate of a bunch of Catholic prats who think some man in the sky created them. “Ew mom. I’m fourteen. I’m not worried about marriage.” Sirius says. It was a lie he was interested in marriage in fact he really wanted to get married one day just not to a girl.
As they pulled up to the train station he saw a few other children saying goodbye to their parents. “Okay bye mum” Sirius said getting out of the car. She said nothing before driving off.
Sirius let out another sigh before entering the train station. His ticket said platform 9 so he had to walk about 3/4 of the way through the station to find it.
The train was a large scarlet engine. He boarded and found a seat in an empty compartment.

“Mum! Dad! I got in!” James said running down the stairs of his parents house excitedly “I got into St.Patricks!” He said finding his parents in the sitting room.
“That’s wonderful Sweetheart!” His mother said getting up to hug him “I knew you would.” His dad said from the couch. His mother kissed his head. “Now go pack.” She said ushering him away. “Ok love you!” James chirped before running off tripping in the process.
James barely slept that night. Excitement and anxiety running through his head. His old school was fine and he’d miss the Prewett twins but his father went to school here so that’s where he wanted to go to school.
He’d be in the same dorm building as him. James maybe idolized his father a bit but who wouldn’t? He was kind, thoughtful, and successful.
James was going to be just like him one day.

Lily sat on her bed scrolling through TikTok when her mother called her downstairs. “Yeah mum?” She said coming down the stairs. “Your letter’s here” her mom said handing it to her. Lily looked at the envelope in her hands. Before hurrying out the door to find Severus.
She saw the boy sitting by their tree. She couldn’t wait they surely both got in so that means they would be going to high school together.
“Sev! Did you get your letter from St.Patricks back yet?” Lily asked excitedly as she approached the boy . “Yeah I did.” He said in a more nonchalant way. “Are you ready?” Lily asked “3…2..1!” They both opened their letters. Lily let out an excited squeal and Severus had a pleased smile on his face.
Lily hugged him “I can’t wait this is going to be awesome.” She said before turning to go tell her parents. Severus couldn’t help but agree.

“PETER!” He groaned as he was called. He didn’t think he did anything but you never know. He got up and walked down the stairs. “Yeah mum?” He said reaching the dining room where she was standing “St.Patricks letter is here” she said handing him the envelope.
Peter turned it over in his hands a few times before opening it “I got in.” He breathed “wow I-I didn’t think they’d accept me.” He reread the letter a few times.
“Of course they would.” His mother chastised rolling her eyes “Now go get packed” She said shooing her son away.
He walked up the stairs to his room and put whatever he could into his tattered suitcase.
Mostly the essentials but he also added a few comics hoping is dorm mates would share his interest.
