Work Text:
Yumemi had cried several different times in her life.
When she was 8 it was because of her favorite films. When she was 12 it was due to acting lessons. At 16 it was because she won against her idol. Finally now at 21 she was crying at her final show as Yumemi Yumemite the Yourtube J-pop idol.
The most popular solo Japanese singer in the whole world. Her music videos stayed 1 on Yourtube for weeks and her concerts sold out in seconds. The school auditorium felt tiny compared to stages she performed on world wide. She was at the peak of her career, everyone wanted her.
This was it, the perfect moment the right time to finally get into Hollywood. Saori already picked out film roles that she could easily fill. Her English was as impeccable as her career. Yumemi found time in-between her hectic schedule to even go back into acting lessons. She couldn't fail, even if she tried.
Her academy award was so close she could taste it.
So why did she feel like crying? Why did she feel like she was losing a part of herself? She was winning, no had won. She just had to let go and grasp it. Yet, she felt lost and alone.
Yumemi had learned to love and adore all of her fans, she may not be able to memorize all of their names and faces anymore. Far, far too many, but she'd never forget the first a hundred. It felt odd to clutch the paper and cry into it. Her fans love letters, had nearly destroyed her career before it even took flight. The paper gave her comfort somehow. Even after all this time, even though her fan couldn't afford her tickets, couldn't see her in person, he still wrote to her. He had seen what she had done to his love letter all the way back then, yet he still persisted in sending them. Idiot.
An idiot that would follow her, even when she did movies. Not everyone would want her to make such a huge change, in fact she expected to lose tons of fans for it. The majority would stay, at least for curiosity. This idiot, he'd cheer her on like way back then.
Yumemi clutched the letter and let her tears stain the paper. This last show she'd dedicate to the Yumemi fan club of Hyakkaou Private Academy.
