Summary
Kenny was so used to this routine he could do it in his sleep. Sneaking out the window, running through a pathway in the woods that had been used so many times that the dirt under his feet was freshly exposed, and his little sister wrapped tightly around his waist. He didn't dare look back, not until he could see the streetlights peeking between the trees and the lone car passing him on the road.
He just had to get to Kyle's house, where he knew he and his sister would be safe. Even if it was for just the rest of the weekend.
