Crawl into bed

Summary:

"Oh to be sleepy and crawl into bed with someone who’s warm and safe and you know will take care of you in all the right ways."

And as the first light of dawn began to peek through the curtains, Logan stirred, feeling Arthur’s arm still wrapped around him. He smiled, knowing that he had found something truly special: a love that was warm, safe, and unwavering.

Work Text:

Logan let out a deep sigh as he pulled into the driveway of their cozy home, situated on the outskirts of the city. The sun had already dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow across the sky. His day had been long and exhausting, filled with the relentless hustle of work. The only thing that had kept him going was the thought of coming home to his adored boyfriend.

Arthur had always been the epitome of warmth and safety for Logan. They had met a few years ago at a racing event in one of the categories on their way to Formula 1, both drawn together by their shared passion for the sport. Despite their competitive natures on the track, off it they had found a rare and beautiful connection. Arthur’s protective and caring nature had been a balm to Logan’s often shy and reserved demeanor. Over time, their friendship had blossomed into something much deeper, and they had taken the leap to move in together after just a few months into their relationship.

When Logan turned off the engine and stepped out of the car, he felt a wave of exhaustion wash over him. He trudged to the front door, fumbling with the keys for a moment before finally managing to unlock the door. The familiar scent of their home enveloped him as he stepped inside, the soft lighting casting a welcoming glow across the living room.

“Arthur? I’m home,” Logan called out, his voice tinged with the weariness of the day.

From the kitchen, his boyfriend appeared, a warm smile lighting up his handsome face. “Hey, mon amour. Rough day?”

Logan nodded, his shoulders sagging as he dropped his bag by the door. “You have no idea. I’m so glad to be home.”

Arthur closed the distance between them, wrapping him in a comforting embrace. “I’ve got dinner almost ready. Why don’t you go get into something more comfortable?”

Logan leaned into the embrace for a moment, savoring the feeling of the strong arms around him. He nodded and headed towards their bedroom, grateful for Arthur’s thoughtfulness. As he changed out of his work clothes and into a pair of his softest pajamas, he could hear the Monegasque moving around in the kitchen, the sounds of cooking mingling with the faint hum of the evening.

When Logan returned to the kitchen, Arthur had set the table and was finishing up the last touches on their dinner. Logan couldn’t help but smile at the sight. Arthur had a knack for making even the simplest meals feel special.

“Smells amazing,” he said as he took a seat at the table.

Arthur brought over a steaming plate of pasta, setting it down in front of Logan before taking his own seat. “I hope it tastes as good as it smells.”

They ate together in comfortable silence, the day’s stresses melting away with each bite. Logan found himself feeling more at ease, the familiar rhythm of their evening routine calming him. Arthur’s presence was extremely comforting, a reminder that no matter how tough the day had been, he always had a safe haven to come back to.

After dinner, they cleaned up together, their movements synchronized in a dance that spoke of experience. Logan marveled at how easily they had fallen into this rhythm, their lives entwined in a way that felt both effortless and profound.

With the kitchen clean and the dishes put away, they settled on the couch, Arthur pulling Logan close. They watched a movie, but the American found it hard to focus on the screen. His eyelids grew heavier with each passing minute, the warmth of Arthur’s body lulling him into a state of blissful drowsiness.

Sensing his boyfriend’s fatigue, Arthur gently stroked his hair. “Ready for bed, mon trésor?”

Logan nodded, his eyes half-closed. “Yeah, I’m exhausted.”

Arthur helped Logan to his feet, guiding him towards their bedroom. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of a bedside lamp casting a gentle light across the space. Arthur pulled back the sheets, and Logan crawled into bed, feeling the cool fabric against his skin.

Arthur joined him, pulling the covers up over them both. Logan snuggled into his side, feeling the warmth radiating from his body. It was a feeling he cherished, the sense of safety and protection that came from being in Arthur’s arms.

As they lay there, Arthur continued to stroke Logan’s hair, his touch soothing and gentle. “You’re safe here, Logan. I’ll always take care of you.”

Logan sighed contentedly, feeling his body relax completely. “I know, Arthur. I love you.”

“I love you too,” he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to Logan’s forehead.

They drifted off to sleep together, the comfort of each other’s presence wrapping around them like a warm blanket. Logan’s dreams were filled with the same sense of security and love that he felt in Arthur’s arms, a reminder that no matter what challenges they faced, they would always have each other.

As the night wore on, the house was filled with the soft sounds of their breathing, a testament to the deep connection they shared. In a world that often felt chaotic and unpredictable, they had found a sanctuary in each other, a place where they could be truly themselves.

And as the first light of dawn began to peek through the curtains, Logan stirred, feeling Arthur’s arm still wrapped around him. He smiled, knowing that he had found something truly special: a love that was warm, safe, and unwavering.

With a contented sigh, Logan snuggled closer to Arthur, ready to face a new day with the comforting knowledge that he was never alone. Together, they were stronger, their love a beacon of light that guided them through even the darkest of times.

And in that moment, as they lay entwined in each other’s arms, Logan knew that he had found his forever home: a place where he was loved, protected, and cherished. Living in the arms of Arthur.
