Chapter 1: The introduction

Chapter Text

“Me? An exchange student? “ you had asked out loud. Michael had told you that you were going down to the devildom to be an exchange student at RAD. It was a bit nerve wracking to say the least, but at least you should have Simeon and Luke with you. Knowing from them the times have changed a lot.

“Yes, you'll be staying with Simeon and Luke. Since it's not their first time being at RAD, they'll make sure you can be as comfortable as you can be.” Michael smiled at you as you had a softer expression when he said you'll be staying with your favorite angels. At least that was something positive. Well, at least after the celestial war, they are your favorites.

Which also meant..

“You’ll be seeing them again, yes. So, prepare yourself for that, mentally. Knowing how much they meant to you, it’ll be tough to see them after so long.” Michael spoke. You looked up with a bit of a surprised face, but then again you had been Michael’s left hand after the war, so he could read your face like it was nothing.

You sighed and nodded, knowing you’d have to start packing soon. It was going to.. hard.. to see them again. Whenever Simeon and Luke came up for a visit, hearing them talk about the others it made your heart ache. You just couldn’t hear it. You just had to avoid and walk away from the conversations all the time. And now you’re going there, basically coming face to face with what you’ve been wanting to avoid. Was this karma?

Taking a deep breath, you looked at Michael as if you weren’t having an internal struggle at this moment. “Shall I get packing then? Knowing you, they’ll be here in a bit to pick me up.” Michael laughed at your statement, nodding his head. “You do know me well. But yes, they will be here in a bit. I expect you to be done in an hour. Meet us here again.” Michael said before leaving you to your thoughts.

What were you going to do when you saw them? How were they going to react when they saw you? Every thought possible went through your head as you walked back to your room the start packing. Your bond with the brothers was.. interesting, to say the least. They were always very special to you, and when they became fallen angels, and Lilith dying.. your whole world had flipped upside down. It was because of Lilith you even knew the brothers. Yes, Simeon and Raphael all were there, but it didn't feel the same anymore. You’d lost your best friend that let you know the other people you grew close with.

As you finished packing while in your thoughts, you went over to the nightstand and saw the picture you had on your bedside since the war. A picture of you with everyone, including Lilith. You felt tears prickle your eyes, but you shook your head and just took the picture, putting it in your suitcase. You closed the zipper of the suitcase and gave your room one last look, having to take it all in. And little did you know, this moment would change your life forever.

Walking out the room, you took a mental image of the celestial palace in your memory one last time. You enjoyed the short but silent walk so you could give your thoughts a little rest, before going to the room Michael ordered you to come to after you had finished. As you came in the room, you already saw Simeon and Luke waiting for you, a demon at their side. They had noticed you walking in the room and Simeon smiled at you.

“There you are! Barbatos, we are ready to go.” You nodded at the demon named Barbatos, introducing yourself with a smile and a slight bow, making the demon smile and bow back at you. “Nice to meet you too, it's nice to finally see a face behind all the stories I have heard.” You raised an eyebrow at Simeon, getting a small smile back while he shrugged. As Barbatos opened a portal to what seemed to be the devildom, you turned to face Michael.

“You don't have to update me everyday, I have faith in you.” With a smile, you nodded at him. Simeon saw the nerves on your face, intertwining his arm with yours. You looked at him with a smile, grabbing your suitcase and saying goodbye to Michael.

As you stepped through the portal and entered the devildom, you were relieved to see none of the brothers so far. You looked around in awe, what was this place? Barbatos noticed your facial expression, giving it a slight chuckle.

“We’re at the young master’s castle. He wanted to meet with you privately before you can go with Simeon and Luke to your destined room.” You looked back at him, a little bit surprised. The son of the demon lord wanted to greet you personally? As you were about to say something, you heard the doors open behind you. You turned around to see said demon stand behind you suddenly.

“Ah Barbatos, great timing! I assume you're our newest exchange student and the left hand of Michael?”

he said with the biggest smile you could've ever imagined a demon could have. You knew the times had changed after the celestial war, but it still all felt a little surreal. You looked at Simeon for a little reassurance. “Uhm.. Yes I am, you must be the son of the demon lord. It's an honor meeting you.” You said as you bowed your head at him, earning a laugh in the process. Was he laughing at you? You looked up at him with a slight annoyed and confused face. When he saw your face he immediately stopped laughing, waving his hands.

“I'm sorry if that offended you in any way..! I was just laughing at the formal introduction of yourself. You can just call me Diavolo.” Again, was said with a smile. Had the time really changed this much? You nodded a little with a small smile. “It might take me a while to adjust to that, but I'll definitely try, Diavolo.” You said, getting a laugh back from him before his face turned a little more serious.

“Is it okay if we could talk just the two of us?”

Ah, there it was. You nodded lightly and gave your stuff to Simeon. Luke who waited in the castle, looked at you as if he was about to faint and Simeon had to console him slightly, you gave him a thumbs up before walking in the room with Diavolo. You closed the door behind you, keeping an eye out for him. He turned around to face you, his face.. you couldn't really read on it what he was about to say, making you worry a bit.

“So, I'll be direct about this and why I wanted to see you private. I haven't told the brothers that you were the new exchange student. I.. am being honest when I say I have had no idea how I could do it. With all the stories I've heard from them, Simeon and Luke.. I've had a tough time.” You saw he was the slightest bit embarrassed that he hasn't told them. You nodded, you understood why. “So, my plan was to invite them over for dinner. After dinner you could come in the room after I told them that we have another exchange student.” He was uncertain of his own choice.
You thought about it, before shaking your head. “That's not a good idea. Knowing Lucifer, he wouldn't appreciate that. Just, we should just rip the bandage off. Bring me to them and I’ll see what happens.” You said, Diavolo looking at you with a bit of a shock. “Are you-“ “I’m sure. There isn't a ‘good way’ to do this. Let's just get it over with so everyone can get accustomed.” You sighed, not ready for this interaction but it wasn't going to be another way. Diavolo nodded and led you out of the room. You looked at Simeon with a pained expression, he wanted to ask if you were okay but Diavolo had spoken to Barbatos before he could ask the question.

“Barbatos, make a portal to the house of lamentation. We're dropping her off.”

You didn't lie in everyone was looking at you in an instant, and you avoided their gaze. Barbatos not asking any questions, did so. You sighed as the portal opened, looking at the front doors of the house. You looked at Diavolo with a small smile, him smiling back at you kind of gave you some reassurance. “Barbatos will be there to pick you up in an hour. Simeon and Luke will take your stuff to your stay, everything will be cared for.” You nodded, turning back at the portal. It was starting at your soul, shaking you to the core. But.. this had to be done. You took one last deep breath before going in the portal.
You stood there for a bit before it closed behind you. You gulped and had to contain your emotions. You don't know what you were feeling, excitement? Nervous? Angry? Happy? You groaned and balled your hands into a fist and closed your eyes, taking a deep breath before you knocked on the door. As you waited, you kept feeling more anxious. Should you leave? Should you even be doing this? Before you could ask yourself another question, the door opened. Your heart in your throat, who would open..? Who was going to see you first-

“Can I help you?” huh..? Who was this? A blond haired man peeked from the door, looking at you in confusion. You blinked a few times before you regained the ability to talk. “Uhm, I'm here for Lucifer. Is he home?” you saw the man raise an eye at you, looking you up and down with squinted eyes. You felt a little uncomfortable as he looked you up and down. Before he could say anything, you froze as you heard a familiar voice behind him.

“Satan! Is that akuzon? I've ordered a limited edition of a Ruri-chan figurine and it said to arrive soon but I didn't think it would..!” and there it was, number one. As Levi had thrown the door open, he froze at the sight of you. When Satan saw Levi's face, he knew his thoughts were right. You did look a lot like the pictures. You felt your anxiety rise as Levi just stood there, staring at you. Sadness, anger, confusion and anxiety flushed away as he rushed over and hugged you in an instant. You even saw Satan's face had a surprised expression. You let out a sigh of relief, hugging him back as tight as you could. “I.. I missed you so much..” you heard Levi whisper in the hug, making you smile. “I did too, believe me..” you whispered back.

“Oi! What's all this commotion at the door!? The great Mammon has to go through!” you looked up and you locked eyes with the second oldest. At first he had to look at who Levi, out of all people, was hugging. And when it clicked, you saw his jaw drop, basically pushing Satan aside and trying to pry Levi off of you. “Oi Levi! Let go of her..! I want a hug too!” he said as you felt Levi hugging you tighter. How you missed this dynamic between them. You heard Levi and Mammon grumble to each other, letting go of Levi with one arm to pull Mammon in an embrace as well. “I’ve missed you too Mammon. A lot, even.” You smiled and he hid his face in your neck, holding onto you as tight as possible. What felt like an eternity standing there hugging the two brothers, you heard another clear his throat.

“We can either go inside or you three stay outside in the cold. Come on.” Satan had said, making Levi and Mammon let go of you and pull you inside with them. As Satan closed the door Levi was the first one to speak. “What even are you doing here? How did you even get here?? When-“ “Let's just go to the common room. I'm guessing she isn't here for just you two.” Satan had interrupted Levi, making you chuckle lightly, looking at him. “Thank you. But, he's right. I'm here for.. another reason, actually.” You had said as they led you to their common room. You looked around you as you took in their house. It looked so much different from their rooms they had up in the celestial realm. A dark and mysterious vibe to it, you couldn't say you didn't like it. You hadn’t noticed that Mammon was frantically texting behind your back as you entered the so called common room.

Before you could even sit down, you heard running in the halls and things falling over. You whipped your head around as you saw Asmodeus, Beelzebub and Belphegor, the three youngest of the brothers, storm into the room through the doorway. Beel’s face dropped seeing you, Belphie had to hold onto Beel and Asmo gasped as loud as he could. “So it wasn't a joke! Oh dear.. you look stunning!” Asmo ran up to you, embracing you in a tight hug making you smile while hugging him back. As you turned your head to the twins, they were already in you face embracing you in a triple hug. Beel had a strong grip on the three of you, making you grunt slightly as you were quite literally squeezed to death as it felt like.

“You are choking her in that hug, calm down a little.”

As the grip had lessened, you finally let out a breath you didn’t know you were even holding. As you faced the door again to look at the person who said that, there he was, the eldest. Lucifer. As he was just staring at you, you didn’t know what he was thinking. Everyone stepped away from you as Lucifer walked towards you. You gave him a shy smile, before you were pulled into his arms, a little surprised by his action. You embraced him back as you hear commotion coming from behind you from Mammon, chuckling softly. “It’s great to see you again. Can’t say I haven’t missed that face.” Lucifer said, letting you go after one small squeeze he gave you. You flushed lightly at his comment and brushed it off with a small smile. “What can I say, it’s the least you could do.” It earned you a smile from Lucifer.

In the end seeing them again, it felt like nothing had changed between you and the brothers. Well, counting out Satan because he was the newest edition to the family. They all still looked the same beside their outfits. They even acted the same around you, so far. Maybe the hard part was to come..? It made you a bit uneasy thinking about it, how did their demon forms even look? Was it going to be much different from their angel forms? You shook the thought out of your head, thinking it was going to be a problem for later. For now, you were just enjoying their company again after so long. You really had missed these loveable idiots.

“So, what brings you here to the devildom as another angel?”
