“Join me for watch tonight,” Zoro simply states, following behind Robin as she prepares to take a bath after dinner.
“I’d love to,” Robin responds with a smile, sneaking Zoro’s hand into her own and giving him a gentle squeeze. “You have the midnight shift?” she questions, grinning widely as Zoro grabs her by the hips and sets her on the railing of the Thousand Sunny.
“That’s right,” Zoro devilishly grins, one of his calloused hands cupping Robin’s cheek while his other protectively encircles her waist. “I switched with Usopp to give him a better shift and he was all too happy to oblige,” the swordsman chuckles against Robin’s neck, pressing his lips to her carotid artery and kissing the side of the archaeologist’s neck.
Robin sighs, letting her head fall backwards, her raven-black hair cascading down her back.
“I see. Changing your watch to ensure we’d be alone and undisturbed for four hours. Someone must have plans,” Robin continues to smile, a sensual tone overtaking her voice as she trails her fingers over Zoro’s toned chest and forearms.
“I might,” Zoro winks, capturing Robin’s lips with his own, a pleasurable moan escaping both their lips. “Guess you’ll just have to join me on the main deck at midnight, then.”
“And I suppose I won’t be getting any hints, hmm?”
“No, you’ll just have to wait and find out.”
Zoro sweeps Robin back into his arms before setting her safely on the deck of the Sunny.
“Enjoy your bath, sweetheart.”
“Oh, it might be a bit lonely,” Robin suggestively smiles.
“You absolute devil of a woman. How dare you tease me with such an idea with the crew on board?” Zoro whispers, his voice husky as his Adam’s apple bobs reflexively.
Midnight comes and Robin exits her and Nami’s cabin, softly speaking to the fiery navigator.
“Nami, I’m just going to get a tangerine,” Robin winks, using the code word they devised, as Nami is the only one who has expressed knowledge of the archaeologist's relationship with the swordsman.
“Take your time,” Nami winks back, a wide smile overtaking her lips. “Any idea when you’ll be back?”
“Well, I have the two o’clock watch, so I might just read on the main deck until my shift. But I’ll be gone until 4:00 at the earliest,” the archeologist admits, preparing to exit their cabin. “Heading to sleep, navigator?”
“No, I do believe I’ll stay up and do some work in bed or at the desk,” the navigator softly says, and Robin catches her meaning quickly.
“Then I think you should go and check if Sanji needs help cleaning up after Luffy in the kitchen,” Robin winks.
Nami flushes immediately, her entire face crimson as she pulls the sheet over her head.
“Don’t tease.”
“Nami, you two make a beautiful couple. Why would I tease?”
“For what it’s worth, so are you and Zoro.”
Somehow, despite six months of Robin and Zoro sneaking around and about one month of Sanji and Nami beginning to do the same, the two women are the only ones who know the other’s secret.
When she steps onto the main deck, Robin does not immediately see Zoro, so she begins to search for the swordsman. It’s then that Robin spies a light shining, which could possibly be a lantern the crew sometimes uses for night watch. Yet, once she turns the corner, the archaeologist’s breath catches in her throat. She places one hand over her heart, her blue eyes softening at the sight before her.
“There you are,” Zoro softly murmurs, appearing behind Robin and wrapping his strong arms around his lover’s upper chest, pulling her back flush to his own chest. “I’m so glad to get to spend some uninterrupted time with you, sweetheart,” the swordsman says, nuzzling his face into Robin’s raven hair.
“I am, too. Everything’s beautiful, my love,” Robin praises, the smile never leaving her face as Zoro leads her towards the blanket he has set up on the deck.
Multiple soft blankets, a dozen scented candles, a bottle of red wine, strawberries, and other snacks decorate the main deck with the newest book Robin has had her eye on within arm’s reach.
“Zoro…” Robin breaths, tears beginning to collect in her eyes. “This is so sweet,” she whispers, spinning to kiss her green-haired swordsman on the lips.
“Happy six month anniversary, Robin,” Zoro whispers, guiding Robin down to sit on the deck, a wide grin appearing on his face and his brown eye shining with happiness. “It’s been quite the adventure so far and I can’t wait for many more.”
Robin is absolutely flabbergasted, herself not truly knowing that today is their six-month anniversary since they never agreed on a date and never expecting Roronoa Zoro to be this incredibly sentimental…
“That’s why I asked you a few nights ago if we were officially together because I knew our first date was almost six months ago on the night I asked. Now, sit with me?”
They pass the hours together, Zoro pouring them both glasses of wine before he begins to feed Robin strawberries, occasionally allowing Robin to feed him some as well. The night passes by with the two of them cuddled together, Zoro holding Robin tightly to his own chest, stroking a hand through her raven hair. Robin lies with her head on Zoro’s chest, his heart rhythmically beating and almost lulling the archaeologist to sleep. With his height advantage on Robin, Zoro is able to have her head resting on his chest and still is able to kiss her with regularity. He takes definite advantage, kissing Robin’s lips, cheeks, and forehead as often as he likes. They both softly sigh, perfectly content and secure in one another’s arms and embrace.
“I could never find a safer place even if I tried,” Robin genuinely explains to Zoro, breaking out of Zoro’s embrace before she moves to sit atop her swordsman, her legs straddling Zoro’s waist and hips.
“Well, good, because I’m here to stay,” Zoro vows, swallowing thickly as he gazes upwards at the woman he loves, such love, devotion, and affection obvious in his brown eye and on his face. “Nothing can separate us. I’d fight alongside you in Hell itself if it means keeping you safe, Robin,” he promises, shuddering slightly as Robin ghosts her fingertips down his muscular chest, circling the cross-body scar he received all those years ago from Mihawk.
“I think you already have many times over, love. Between fighting Enel, in Enies Lobby, and then fighting alongside me at Fishman Island and Dressrosa, we’ve done our fair share of protecting one another,” Robin reminds, gasping as Zoro suddenly flips them, grasping Robin’s wrists in his own as he hovers above her on his hands and knees. “I love you,” Zoro softly says, quickly dropping down to press a kiss, long, slow, and sensual to his lover’s lips, delighting in the way that she now tastes like wine, strawberries, and pineapple while smelling distinctly like her perfume and the swordsman himself.
“I love you, too,” Robin breathlessly replies, arousal evident in her tone of voice and on her face.
“Wanna take this up to the crow’s nest?” Zoro suggests, his voice turning husky as he rotates his hips in a circle above Robin, the archaeologist’s body still very much pinned beneath him.
Robin shakily exhales as Zoro drags one hand from Robin’s face all the way down to her waist, the swordsman pulling suggestively at the waistband of Robin’s shorts.
“Zoro, but what if---”
“We won’t get caught. Brook isn’t due to relieve you for another hour and a half.”
The couple soon are scrambling up the ladder to Zoro’s secondary room in the crow’s nest, both of them grinning ear to ear like lovesick teenagers.
They return back to the main deck with five minutes to spare, Zoro leaving Robin with one parting kiss to last her until sunrise.
“See you later, beautiful.”
“Thank you for a wonderful six-month anniversary, my handsome swordsman.”
Zoro heads back to the men’s quarters right as Brook appears in front of Robin.
“Relaxing watch, Robin?” Brook inquires, noticing the book on top of the blanket.
“The best. See you at sunrise, Brook,” Robin smiles.
She enters the room she shares with Nami, using their secret knock to alert the navigator of her presence.
“Goodnight, Nami. Sanji, nice of you to join us,” Robin chuckles softly, earning a thud from the other side of the room as Sanji falls out of bed.
“How did she know?” Sanji whispers.
“Sanji, when will you learn that the two of us women know everything that happens on this ship?” Nami teases, pulling her cook back into bed beside her.
