Chapter Text
“Shoot I’m going to be late!” Yagi yells while rushing through the street, dodging people left and right.
This morning, there is a meeting for the UA staff before school starts. Trying to be nice, the mighty Yagi decided to grab a breakfast treat for everyone. Sadly, the bakery shop he ordered from canceled on him so he quickly ordered a dozen donuts from a shop nearby.
Yagi crashes through the donut shop door. He looks up at the startled cashier. “Are you Yagi-“ Yagi rushes to the cashier and swipes the box. “Yes, thank you,” he quickly says before dashing out.
He runs through the streets, only a couple of blocks away from UA now. He wonders if it was impolite of him to just rush in and startle the poor cashier. He decides he’ll make it up to him later, maybe the young man is an Allmight fan!
He swipes his ID card and dashes through the gates. He runs in and up the stairs, finally making it to the meeting room. He pushes open the door. “I am… here!” He huffs, out of breath. Everyone looks back at him. “Well hello Yagi-San! We just started and I see that you bought treats for everyone!” Nezu called from across the room. Yagi smiles sheepishly and places the box in the middle of the table.
“Ooo and what did you bring Yagi?” Midnight asks while opening the box.
“Just some donuts,” Yagi sheepishly says.
The rest of the staff picked up a donut each and started eating them.
“Mmh these are good!” Yamada cheers from beside him. “Thanks,” Yagi nods at him, glad that they like the backup treat.
Suddenly, All Might's voice blares out through the room. Everyone looks around and finds that sound coming from Yagi. He frantically looks for his phone and pulls it up to see that Young Midoriya is calling him. “Ah sorry I got to take this,” he says before getting up and running out the door.
-
‘Why does he never silence his phone,’ Aizawa thinks to himself while eating his reluctant donut, thanks to Nemuri. ‘Or atleast lower the volume.’
“Well, even with Toshinori gone, I might as well get started on the meeting,” Nezu enthusiastically said. “I-“ The principal suddenly starts coughing.
Aizawa tenses. This isn’t usual for Nezu. He puts his hand on the back of Nezu since he’s on his shoulder. “Are you okay s-“ he also gets cut off by an attack of coughs. He sets Nezu on the table and bends over. He hears voices near him, calling out to someone. He looks up and sees Nemuri and Kan next to them. He also sees a couple of the others bent over, coughing.
His eyes start to blacken and his head gets fuzzy. He feels himself fall but blacks out before he hits the ground.
-
Shota opens his eyes. He rubs them and sits up with a yawn. He looks out and freezes.
Where is he?
He sees a very tall chair and high table. He looks around and sees a bunch of other kids with him, sleeping. He feels something around his neck and looks down to thick, white bandages wrapping around him. He also sees that he’s in some very big shirt and pants. He can’t even see his hands, it’s so big! Shota tries to untangle the bandages around him but just makes a bigger mess of them. He feels something soft and pulls it out from the bandages.
It’s a very big mouse, he thinks. His face scrunches up, trying to wake it. It stays still. He gets up and looks around for somewhere to put the pet. He sees some paper under a desk and shuffles over there, laying the small animal on the paper and wrapping it inside like a burrito.
After deciding that his work is done, Shota looks back at the other kids with him. He doesn’t seem to recognize anyone. Where’s the adults? Where’s mommy and daddy?
He sees a girl with short black hair like him still sleeping. He decides to walk over to her, kicking away the pants after a bit of struggling. The shirt is dragging on the floor anyways. He crouches next to her and pokes her. She doesn’t move at all. He does it again and starts to shake her, getting annoyed now.
She finally starts to stir and she opens her eyes. The girl blinks and starts to get up with a yawn. She looks at him and scrunches her face. “Who are you?” She asks him. “I’m Shota,” he says.
The girl smiles at him. “I’m Nemuri!” She exclaims. She looks around and scrunches her face again. “Where are we?” She asks. Shota shrugs, “I was hoping you would know.”
Nemuri puts her hand to her mouth and strokes her imaginary beard like the people do on the TV. “I don’t remember mommy taking me to daycare… and I don't remember these clothes,” she says while looking down at the humongous jumpsuit she’s in. She spins around, looking at the room.
Shota watches her and copies her movements, almost tripping over his shirt. Nemuri suddenly stops and snaps her fingers. “I think I figured it out!” She turns to him.
“We’ve been kidnapped!”
Shota tilts his head at her and thinks over the possibility. “Hmm that makes sense…” he mutters. “But I don’t remember any bad men or following anyone with candy,” Shota exclaims. Nemuri lowers her head again thinking. “Maybe we got memory loss like Dory from Finding Nemo,” she says. Shota questions this possibility. His memory is pretty fuzzy right now. He doesn’t remember what happened yesterday or what day it actually is. He thinks he knows Nemuri though but he doesn’t remember meeting her.
“This is weird,” he mumbles. Nemuri nods, looking back out at the room. “Yeah, buuuuut this is a cool adventure!” Shota looks at her funny. “How?” He asks. Nemuri smiles at him. “It’s like in the TV shows! Like when the hero would get kidnapped and have to break free from some bad guys! We can be like heroes!”
“Okay, that seems log-i-cal,” Shota agrees, getting excited to be heroes. “So how do we escape?” He asks her. “Hmmmm,” she thinks.
Shota decides to look back around the room. He sees that some of the other kids have woken up and have grouped up together in groups. He sees one kid who seems to have a gun and another who reminds him of a wolf. He also sees a big device across from him. He shuffles over and looks at the big, square thing. He kicks it and he hears the device groan. He yelps and jumps back. The thing starts to go back and forth before going up. He sees that the thing has a body and hears noises coming from the device. He then hears a loud voice coming through.
“Mmmhh huh… HUH! WHERE AM I!” He hears the thing create an ear splitting scream. All the kids jump and cover their ears while the ones still asleep get startled awake. One of the kids fires a gun while another one creates a tiny black hole.
Shota pushes his hands against his ears and kicks the thing again. The object drops and reveals a kid’s head. The kid has short blonde hair and bright green eyes. The kid spins his head around. “WHERE-“ Shota activates his quirk on instinct and the kid gets cut off. He coughs and looks at him. The kid gawks at him. He tries to speak but nothing comes out. Shota releases his quirk and rubs his eyes.
“Wow, that’s so cool!” He hears the other kid say. Shota opens his eyes and looks back at the kid. “Oh and sorry about my quirk! I still don’t have great control over it. What’s your quirk? It’s so cool!” The kid asks enthusiastically. Shota lowers his head. “It’s not a good quirk. People don’t really like it.” The kid gives him a confused look. “How? You look so cool when you use it!” He exclaims. Shota is still uncertain about the kid’s support but decides to tell him. “It’s called erasure. I can erase any quirk that isn’t like the physical ones,” he shyly says. The kid gasps. “That’s so cool! And you look so cool when using it!” He gushes over him. Shota’s eyes widen and he begins to blush. He’s never had someone say that his quirk was cool. “Thanks,” he mumbles.
The kid nods at him and smiles, “I’m Hizashi!” The kid exclaims and holds out his hand. Shota shakes it. “Shota,” he replies.
“That was loud!” Nemuri complains loudly, finally coming over to them after recovering from all the screaming. Hizashi's face falls and grimaces. “Sorry! I’m not good with my quirk. I keep hurting people with it. Sorry.”
Nemuri holds a stern face. “Hmm I forgive you. You just need more practice, but if you do it again I’m going to make you sleep with my quirk,” she threatens. Hizashi smiles at her and nods his head.
He finally looks down at his large shirt. “Why am I in such huge clothes?” He asks and looks around the room again.
“We think we got kidnapped and have to escape like the heroes do!” Nemuri exclaims. Shota nods with her. “But I’ve talked to the other kids and they’re all confusing me. We’re still trying to figure out how to get out,” Nemuri tells him. Hizashi nods at her explanation and pulls on a serious face.
“Hmmmm what about-“ he gets cut off by someone opening the door.
Yagi walks out of the meeting room and rests against the wall. He clicks the call and brings the phone to his ear. “Hello, Young Midoriya?”
“Oh, Hi All Might! I was just wondering if you were still coming to the training session today?” Midoriya asks.
Yagi facepalms, forgetting about the meeting he had with Midoriya today. “Shoot, I’m sorry my boy but the staff has a meeting this morning. Don't worry, I'm free tomorrow! We can do it then. Sorry again.”
“Oh no it’s fine! I run anyway in the morning so it’s no big deal. I searched that-'' Midoriya then goes on a huge tangent on his findings on healthy ways to get muscle which also turned into a dive in ways to help All Might with his health problems of not having a stomach. With both Recovery Girl and Midoriya reminding him of his health, Yagi will never forget the healthy ways of taking care of himself.
Even though Yagi knew he should probably cut Midoriya off and get back inside, he didn’t have the heart to do that. Nor did he want to go into the meeting.
“And then-“ Midoriya gets cut off by a deafening scream. Yagi winces and looks back at the meeting room. “Sorry Young Midoriya but I need to go,” Yagi quickly says before hanging up. He rushes back to the door and pushes them open. He looks out for any danger but quickly stops in his tracks.
He looks out at the room in front of him.
The room full of children who look a lot like his fellow UA teachers.
“What in the world of plus ultras happened to you all,” he mutters to himself, baffled.
The little kids stare back at him. He looks at the room and sees that there are bullet holes in the wall and a couple of items ripped apart. He also sees that all of the kids have their hero uniforms on… or whatever is able to stay on them.
Sweet Jesus of Ultras.
Yagi slowly steps back out and closes the door.
He steps away and pulls out his phone again. He dials Tsukauchi.
He’s going to need help.
A lot of help.
And coffee.
