I wrote this at four in the morning and this is the first thing I have ever written so feedback would be nice. I want to make this a multi-chapter fic. I hope you enjoy.

Chapter 1: A disturbance

Chapter Text

The words that Reva spoke played on replay in his mind.

“Anakin Skywalker is alive”

Anakin was alive. He was alive. After everything that happened, after losing all his limbs and burring alive he still managed to survive. He sensed him. Anakin was like black hole filled with anger and pain, and Obi-Wan is the one who put him there. The amount of pain that he felt when sensing him was enough to make him want to cry.

Ben was struck was an immediate sense of guilt. He had left him to die on Mustafar. And it was his fault, his failure. That’s what Anakin is, his greatest failure. And now the galaxy suffers due to his mistakes. That’s how it always went. Anakin suffered from having a sub-par teacher because he failed to save Qui-Gon. Mandalore suffered under the rule of Maul and the loss of their Duchess because of his attachment to Satine. And now Luke and Leia suffered not having their parents because Obi-Wan was too blind to see that Anakin was suffering. It’s his fault that the Republic and Jedi order fell. Everything that has happened has been his fault.

A sudden jolt returned him to reality.

“Ben, what was that?” Leia said worryingly.

“I’m not sure.”

He moved towards front of the ship in hopes to see whatever caused to ship to rumble violently. Leia followed him holding his hand, as if she were afraid that the ship might shake again.

Out of the view port he sees a star destroyer but not an imperial one. It looked to be an Old Republic star destroyer. That made no sense, all destroyers now days were five times as big with no paint on the outer hull of the ship.

Before Ben could try and find a logical reason for there being a star destroyer 10 years out of date, the comms on the console came to life.

“Unknown vessel, this is a restricted part of space. State your reason for being here.” Ben froze. He had heard that voice a million times. It was the voice of all the men that he led in to battle for years. It was also to voice that had betrayed and killed so many of his fellow Jedi.

He had to respond before it became suspicious.

“Leia, I need you to stay quiet for me.”

He hesitated, knowing he would be speaking to one of the clones that had turned on the Jedi. Finally, he gets the resolve to respond.

“We are a cargo ship heading for Mapuzo. The ship is on auto pilot.”

While waiting for the response he took a good look at the ship to see if he could figure out whose ship it was. He saw and immediately recognised the three red strips on each wing of the destroyer. It was his ship the Negotiator. Ben hoped that his voice wasn’t recognized by the clone.

“Ben, what's going on?”

“Leia, stay quiet.”

“Why?”

“Because, I said so.”

She huffed in response. Leia is truly her father's daughter.

An awkward amount of time had passed before the clone responded. His mind was going a million miles a minute trying to figure out how to get out of this situation. He was so deep in thought that the was startled when the voice finally responded.

“Could you repeat that?”

Ben sighed, “I have a bad feeling about this.”

Obi-Wan was in his chambers meditating when he felt a great disturbance in the force. The disturbance pulled him out of his meditation.

He quickly stood up hoping that Anakin was nearby hoping that he could confirm that there was something off and not just him focusing on his anxieties. It was just his luck, not that he believed in it, that Anakin was at his door when he opened it.

“Did you sense that too, Master?” Anakin said as he stepped into his master's chambers.

“Yes, I was on my way to talk to you about it. It feels as though there is something here that was never supposed to be.”

“But it also feels familiar.”

That through Obi-Wan off, he didn’t find the presence to be familiar in the slightest. Pushing through the confusion of the disturbance he says, “We should go to the bridge. We might find the answer to the disturbance there.”

While they were walking there was a palpable sense of worry between them. Usually, a disturbance in the force this large was not a good sign. Anakin spoke.

“Master do you thin-”

“I’m sure everything will be fine, Anakin. I thought between the two of us I was the more anxious person.”

“It’s just I’ve never felt a disturbance this big before.”

“Everything will happen as the force intends it.”

“Whatever you say, master”

When they got to the bridge, they heard one of the clones on the comms talking to someone. “-part of space. State your reason for being here.”

As the trooper got his response, his brow furrowed. He looked up and started to speak

“General, there is an unknown vehicle in a restricted sector. And General?”

“Yes, what is it?”

“The person responding sounds exactly like you.”

Obi-wan was perplexed by what the trooper just told him. Anakin gave him a look of confusion. He sighed.

“Ask him to repeat what he just said and play it so we can hear.”

“Yes sir,” the trooper complied, “Could you repeat that?”

"How is there anyone else even in this part of space," Anakin whispered to Obi-Wan, "There should only be two ships that have acsess to the only hyperspace lane that goes through this area."

"I know, Anakin," Obi-Wan responded curtly.

"If this random ship found us, even by accident, our entire mission could be compromised."

Obi-Wan didn't reply to that comment.

Both Obi-Wan and Anakin anxiously awaited the reply.

“I said, 'We are a cargo ship heading for Mapuzo. The ship is on auto pilot.'”

The clone was not wrong. That did sound exactly like him and furthermore they were nowhere near Mapuzo to his knowledge. Obi-Wan look towards Anakin to see what he was thinking about the situation and he looked as confused as he is.

The voice spoke again, “We don’t mean any trouble.”
