Chapter Text
I made a lot of comic doodles for this. Some of them were to work through things that I couldn't quite parse in words yet, and others were just me drawing moments that I liked. For the sake of readability, I've put them all in an album here.
Overall chapter planning
chapter 1 - Smith hospital, trio reunion
Chapter 2 - party, first kiss
Chapter 3 - reinstated, activate printer, The Messenger arrives
Chapter 4 – explain the transmitter in lewis’s hand, pilot Rising Orthos
Chapter 5 – interrogation and confession, first time
Chapter 6 – fight the Red Horsemen
Chapter 7 – fight the red horsemen pt2
Chapter 8 – smith2 revealed, build magna kaiser, clear suspicion with military, proposal
Chapter 9 – fight white black horsemen
Chapter 10 – White horsemen, fuse with black horseman
Chapter 11 – go to space?? play in dead world, get out of there
Chapter 12 – Green horsemen, beat death, princess frog Lewis back into a regular human body ??? wedding, but is he alright?
I want to base all the robot fights on the four horsemen. Specifically the colors, the red, black, white, green.
Green: death, scythe
Red: civil war, mass slaughter, sword
Black: famine, some kind of terraforming object (or maybe a flail? Like the ones used for threshing)
White: pestilence, bow and arrow
things I like in stories: gun fights, sword fights, bondage, pathetic men, romance built through friendship, people getting covered in blood
isami’s problem is that he thinks every bad thing that happens to him is his fault, and he’s in a story that’s constantly against him. Lewis’s problem is that, even now, he can’t be direct with how he feels. The feelings between them are mutual but they keep creating problems for themselves because of fear. Lulu throughout the story has to come to terms with her creation and her fate
the robots are able to use lewis as the gateway because isami’s love for him powers it ???
loose end: what do they use the build burn printer for? Maybe to build the end game mech they fight green with???
- war, red, named Desiderias (after the epithumetikon, stomach part of soul of desire and appetite)
-pestilence, white horsemen, named Logos (part of the soul for reason, located in the head)
-famine, black horsemen, named Thumoeides (part of the soul for spirit, located in the chest)
- the last horsemen, death, has no name. He has no insistence of trifling in human affairs.

(The battery is Lewis it’s him. The energy in his body is the pathway from their world to ours. Like a one way inter-dimensional highway.) ← his transmitter is no longer viable, but Lulu’s has not been used. They either have to harness it through her, or cut it out of her and hope it still works. The transmitter in smith’s hand only gets cut out when they make plans to travel to the deathdrive’s planet/home base/space ship. It can only be used once, and was used by the messenger, but lulu and miyu want to cut it out of him to see if theres a technological way they can get it to respark to make that portal shift.
Bravern fic chapter 3 ideas and outline maybe
- maybe start with the aliens, talking about how the preparations are almost complete. Since the world’s entire makeup has been completely rewritten, it makes it easier for them to harness and siphon the energy from the planet. A minor change in plans, but perfect setup nonetheless. They talk a bit about compulsion and travel distance, and end with saying something like “fire up the battery.” (The battery is Lewis it’s him. The energy in his body is the pathway from their world to ours. Like a one way inter-dimensional highway.)
- Isami gets his hair cut? Lol, since it’s technically not uniform appropriate at the moment. Maybe Hibiki cuts it, and the two of them can kind of discuss things. I think Lulu is also there either getting hers cut or styled. Isami’s not sure if he’ll be able to pilot Daidara-5 after Bravern, or if he even wants to. Maybe Hibiki reassures him that he doesn’t have to lead with Daidara-5, and kind of leaves it open-ended for him to decide. She does remark though that since he’s letting her cut his hair, something in him must want to stay.
- Lewis talks to the General. They tell him that if he feels able, he’s welcome to return to piloting. He asks about if the Rising Orthos can be rebuilt, and the general says that if they could get the Burn Build printer working, they could have it built in a matter of hours. Wait-- the Burn Build printer is still here?!
- They go to see the printer, and at Lewis’ touch it whirs to life. The General remarks that the only one who’d been able to get it to work before was Bravern, and Lewis quickly dodges this with something like “well, maybe when I was brought back to life, uh…he lent me power to do this?” They buy it. Maybe he even says something stupider, and they still buy it.
- Maybe Lewis stops by the Japanese hangar again to talk to Miyu, who relents about Isami losing his “hot-blooded spirit”. Isami, who’s also there, comes out from testing the protocol in the mech to protest this. Lewis remarks on the new haircut. Isami is Isami about it. Maybe Lewis asks Miyu about the Orthos and the printer. Both Miyu and Isami are surprised about the printer, and everybody goes along to see it.
Bravern fic chapter 4 planning
running around aaahh so scares
- go see doctor. doctor says "you are roboglacci" cant help you
- go back to printer see mechanic. lulu also there
- lulu explain the battery concept (just to make it crystal clear what happened in the last chappter)
- look and see all the models of existing TS and rising orthos resident nerd bravern had made
- using lulu power, pilot rising orthos
- heated robo battle action
- vivisection after? vivisection instead of romantic candelit dinner tonight queen? vivisection?
The transmitter in smith’s hand only gets cut out when they make plans to travel to the deathdrive’s planet/home base/space ship. It can only be used once, and was used by the messenger, but lulu and miyu want to cut it out of him to see if theres a technological way they can get it to respark to make that portal shift. So it shouldn’t get cut out in this chapter.
CHAPTER 6 PLANNING
- isami and lulu go to the tower in the sea. It is the horsemen of mass destruction, war, etc whatever you wanna conceptualize it. As stated, red and has a sword. I’m thinking also kind of kaiju-like in appearance? Like it seems more animalistic than the deathdrives.
- named Desidias (after the epithumetikon, stomach part of soul of desire and appetite)
- also at some point I’d like to flash back to isami and smith’s morning after lol
- I want this fight to end with Isami and Lulu winning, but just barely. Rising Orthos is completely destroyed, or at least left very tattered. They manage to keep Red out in the sea and away from civilization, but the shockwaves of it still end up hitting the shore anyway.
- smith and miyu are working at the printer. Maybe smith reveals he was bravern? And this helps them formulate a design plan. Maybe miyu already knew lol
- maybe Lulu and Isami have a conversation about Isami’s feelings? Or she at least notes that he seems happier today.
- maybe lulu sacrifices herself? Or gets taken to robot world? It’s either gotta be her or Isami.
- does Smith start getting robo powers? Like a HUD, more sensitive to the Orthos’s location? Chest starts glowing in the Bravern logo lol.
- real talk for the long haul: IS he getting Nia’d?
- maybe they don’t actually beat it and they have to retreat? Lulu has to drag Isami away. No, I think maybe it gets close to that point, but they end up coming thru and beating it by just a hair.
CHAPTER 7 PLANNING
- lewis and co rescue Isami, lewis is mad (combo of fear and possessiveness) at him for almost getting himself killed, says he should have gone with, Isami says that he has to be allowed to do things himself
CHAPTER 8 PLANNING
- lewis and co brought to debriefing room. Lewis goes in, isami and lulu are kept out by Smith 2.
- lewis is on the brink of being discharged. He tells them that he was bravern.
- smith2 started out as an alternate timeline smith that was co-opted by the deathdrives and turned into a tool.
Logos- shape-shifting takes the form of someone's deepest sense of safety/desire? Defeated by Lewis killing it (himself) essentially death of the self
Maybe take some time in chapter 8 to really build up to the fight with logos. Like maybe make the fight 3 chapters long. Maybe smith 2 wants to make it an actual veritable fight. The only problem is that currently Lewis and Isami and Lulu are down a mech. I think we should take a couple days to have the little things happen.
Obviously a lot of the soldiers and pilots are now in varying states of disrepair, what with having their souls sucked out a little bit. Lewis is in trouble – like, a lot of trouble – and I think chapter 8 should be where that really starts hitting. One: he commandeered a teammate’s vehicle, two: he’s implicated in the injury of several thousand people on the base (because since everyone saw him reappear from Desiderias, it’s safe two assume that the two were working together,) three: he disobeyed several commands from his leading officers in all of this as well. Also piloting (Rising Orthos) a non-government sanctioned vehicle.
Ooh maybe Isami gets Taken by the shapeshifter, and Lewis ends up in the brig, meaning that for a few chapters we have to ride with lulu! Maybe Isami doesn’t know that its Smith 2 when it happens, and the next few chapters are lewis figuring that out and beating him up. Smith 2 is all like “don’t you trust me?” and Isami’s like, of course, always. So smith 2 preys on that and is like “come with me.”
Logos will play more of a psychological game with them, building it up more and more from fighting mech to mech to fist to fist.
Smith 2 was Smith that died after the “fight” with desiderias (or during), but then didn’t actually die. He became (or got co-opted by) a death drive. That means that until he has his “perfect death” (which I think has to be being killed by his own hands IE our Lewis), he’s forced to redo the Deathdrive’s bidding forever and ever.
Maybe both Isami AND Lewis get solitary confinement, which lets us follow Lulu’s perspective for a bit and gives Smith 2 an opening to nab Isami.
Oh how about this – maybe there’s a situation where Lewis and Isami are fighting Smith 2, while Lulu has to pilot their new robot to fight Logos in an actual robo battle!!
Magna Kaiser?
OKAY let’s get some planning straight: WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN CHAPTER 8?
- lewis goes into the debriefing. He tells them he was Bravern, and everything else. This stops him from being put in the brig, but it does earn him some kind of punishment. I don’t know. I know it should be solitary confinement, but I think some kind of chauffeur would be good – that way he can still work on the mech they’ll need to fight Logos. I just don’t know who that chauffeur would be. Would it be someone from his unit or would it be Smith 2?
-
WHAT DOESN’T HAPPEN
- no ninjas
- no car chases
- lewis is not sent to the brig
- lulu is not sent to the brig
- isami isn’t sent to the brig either
- smith 2 doesn’t take isami in this chapter
- they don’t fight logos in this chapter
- isami is not taken before Magna Kaiser is finished
what does happen
- lewis and isami get put in solitary confinement
- lewis and smith 2 talk about their circumstances
- lewis works with miyu to build Magna Kaiser
- lulu acts as an intermediary while the two of them are in holding
- thumoeides spotted in somewhere else? Make plans to ship out to fight it
- lewis talks to miyu about being bravern?
“Sometimes I’m CIA, sometimes I’m USMC, one time I ended up as a hotel clerk. I don’t think of it as lying. It’s more...acting.”
smith 2 starts his time loop at the same point on mauna kea at the last episode
they pilot logos and take his mech ha ha a
they use the printer to make the fusion form of logos ha ha ha ha
smith 2 from zero timeline but it went bad and isami died and he joined forces with the deathdrives and now he’s like acting as a scout for them to find this source of eneergy to take it and eat it and use It and kill you and kill you and biolence and biting you and biting you
Green horseman is spiky fingers that took lewis apart
CHAPTER 9 PLANNING
- Either we show the full test drive with them going over the weapons and the modes, or we kinda skip over it in favor of getting right to the battle against thumoeides. I think either could work.
- I’d like to have a scene of the four of them going over and workshopping potential catchphrases and attack names. “MK Flaming Kick! Super Magnum Heat Slice! MK Zubash!” And then Isami’s giving notes like “that’s too long, that sounds ridiculous, the phonetics run together badly here…” And Miyu’s like “ISAMI IN THE HEAT OF BATTLE YOU WON’T GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT THE PHONETICS!!”
- I hope they visit Hibiki in the med ward for a little bit. Maybe talk with the doctor, bring up some of the stuff that’s been in the story since chapter one (and some that got cut.)
- Magna Kaiser was a mech designed in maybe two days and built in three weeks. We can play around with fudging realistic stuff a little, but I want a lot of it to feel like that, that kind of rushed build.
- So like, I don’t know if they’d have time to build a sword, but maybe a bo staff. Beam saber also seems appropriate. Maybe shield?
- Obvious stuff like gun cannons and rifles and whatever.
- Its also entirely true that in the fight with Thumoeides and Logos they could take some of their weapons.
- How does the three-part piloting work? Good question! I think what it is is that Isami is the more traditional “pilot” of it – he handles the controls, directionals, and whatever uses of weaponry. Lewis operates the more ancillary functions like shielding, sensor systems, deployment of weaponry, etc. Magna Kaiser is at it’s best when they’re completely in sync. Lulu’s part, if she chooses to pilot as well, is more of a tertiary role and deals more with weapons control. It’s also similar to the function she served inside the Rising Orthos of providing extra power (because if its split across the three of them its less damaging.) Side note, that’s kind of fucked up isn’t it? She’s used as a battery by the death drives, and for most of this story its been the same way...maybe let’s have her do something different.
- I do want to have the thumoeides mech theft at some point. Maybe she pilots that? Speaking of thumoeides…
- I think it should be built more to serve Lewis’s strengths, in contrast to Magna Kaiser which was built more to Isami’s. Stockier build, solid footing, this thing is made to plant down, take the punches, and hit back twice as hard in one go. Where Magna Kaiser excels in speed and strategy, Thumoeides packs power.
- They have to spear the mech through the head, right? That’s the only visual I can see and it’s damn cool. No no wait, Thumoeides is the one for chest. Maybe it’s Logos they kebab.
They fight thumoeides, they beat him, logos comes in all pissed and kils smith 2, then transports isami away anyway. Now its lewis and lulu against her. That way at the end of the story we can have a circular thing where isami is feeling the heat and waking up in the hospital like how lewis wakes up in the hospital at the beginning? Circular ending style. Or she takes lewis and lulu and isami and smith2 have to bond
maybe Logos just manipulates Lewis’s mind until they kill her, since he’s technically not fully human as long as she’s still around
Maybe they get smith2 out of thumoeides, power of love him into being on their side. Logos shows up pissed as hell, takes Lewis AND Lulu. Isami anf Smith 2 have to bond a little bit and smith2 sacrifice himself so that isami can get magna Kaiser to k2-54b
Miyu providing the intro to the MK v thumos like its a gundam fight
Breakdown
- practicing special moves and catchphrases
- new suits, incorporate rings somehow
- visit hibiki, call back to chapter 3
- miyu and lulu bond, maybe lulu sits the fight out so its just lewis and isami piloting together
- they make the trip to mauna kea
- they fight thumoeides
-
CHAPTER TEN – THE BRIDE
planning
the title here is referring to both Logos (who’s design features a long flowing dress-like construction and a veil) and Lewis (who is, as of chapter eight, engaged). I think it would be funny to reference the “something old something new something borrowed something blue” (old – smith2, new – lewis, borrowed – isami? Or borrowed and blue both cover Lulu. Not sure.) idk how I’d do it though
10: fighting chapter – major choices and sacrifices occur
11: recoup chapter – fallout of those choices, decisions to move forward (HIBIKI PLEASE RETURN!!) - from lulu’s perspective?
12: final, fight and ending
we’ve got a few options for how the fight with logos plays out, and more specifically how it ends. Because we know from Smith telling us in chapter eight that after the fight (with Thumoeides), the final destination is the planet K2-54B. Only trouble – how do we get there? We’ve established that the transmitter in Lewis’s hand is what allowed them to make the trip from their world to ours. It would make roundabout sense if they used that again (either Lulu making a sacrifice to get them there, or Smith2, or Lulu, Smith2, and Lewis all using theirs in conjunction to open the portal. If we go with option 3, everybody lives...I’m just saying.) There’s also the possibility that Logos opens the portal herself as sort of a “humph! I’m leaving and I’m taking you with me!” But I feel like as convenient as that could be (and as much angst as we could get from it), it kind of takes away the characters sense of choice.
We’re at the point in this where Lewis has to choose. He has to make choices, like, permanent lasting choices. Smith has to make a choice as well
here’s the pieces we still have to slot somewhere:
- smith 2 is still here. We’ve seen Isami offer his hand, and attempt to pull him out of his depressive, suicidal spiral. He’s not fully out though, and he’s still Logos’s dog. He has to be dealt with. Ideally we can get the idea across that Isami has changed his mind, and he wants to live, he just wants to do it on his own terms. Thus, sacrificing himself in some way so that our trio can win against Logos would count as his “perfect death,” and would give him some kind of peace.
- we have to give lulu something. Please. It’s been 10 chapters and so far all she’s done is be backup support or suffer.
What does Logos want (that our MCs are preventing her from getting?)
Logos is the team leader of the Overdrives. Her functionality is basically acting as a foreman to the other two. Of course, if she’s the foreman, Smith/Thumoeides could be considered her immediate apprentice. Desiderias is a little harder to work into the metaphor because Desiderias is more purely an animal.
What are chapters 10-12 building to emotionally? I think the main two things are that we restore lewis’s physicality and that we wed together lewis and isami. Lulu my girl lulu im so sorry I havent found much for you to do beyond suffer orz…
oh maybe we play more into the Future Warrior aspect and like, in the fight with logos (or with the death master) her transmitter activates but it allows her to freely travel between timelines? It would directly contradict what they tell us in the show (that her timeline is gone for good because of how they used bravern to travel back). Part of me also wants to give her more of the mechanical knowledge since she spends so much time hanging out with miyu but we haven’t gotten to see any of that in the fic so I don’t want it to come out of nowhere.
LOL actually I do kind of like the idea that she becomes a sort of “anomaly chaser” along the lines of rip hunter where she just spends most of her time...doing something. Sorry I realized halfway thru writing this idea that it doesn’t make any sense in the bravern universe
“nothing will survive. Fight if you must.”
there is also the option where we go into what’s effectively a “bad end,” where Smith sacrifices himself in order for them to beat Logos, and Lulu sacrifices herself in order for lewis and isami to get to k2-54B. And then in the process of them getting to the planet, they don’t actually make it but die on the way there, and that puts us in contact with the death robot. Who they beat, and then they all come back.
The only issue I see with this is that a lot of the plot is happening around them instead of from their choices. It’s also directly contradictory to what Smith and Lulu have stated their goals are, or what their goals have become, which are both to live. We’d have to do quite a bit of work for them to go from that to freely self-sacrificing I think.
What if we had a magna kaiser – thumoeides GATTAI? That way we could literally reintegrate thumoeides back into lewis’s soul. What is smith’s perfect death? I think my initial thought was dying in Isami’s arms. Or having Isami say that he loved him. Or being able to tell Isami. Etc etc. That guy’s only got one thing on his mind.
- gattai with thumoeides
- bring back the angel imagery (magna kaiser has wings?)
- gives magna kaiser another weapon (the flail gauntlets)
if smith sacrifices himself to weaken/defeat logos in chapter 10
wikipedia says the function of the thymos is to obey the directions of the logos while ferociously defending the whole from external invasion and internal disorder. So what I’m hearing is mind control.
Function of logistikon is to rule through the love of learning gently...hmm…
“such injustice!” spirited are obedient to the appetite, ignore the logical or employ it in pursuits of pleasure.
I think the fusion with thumoeides makes lewis “go gold”. 10 chapters and he’s finally blonde again rejoice
“you bet my life?” smith asks.
Logos laughs like tinkling bells and points at Isami’s crumpled form. “For him, pup, I’d bet anything.” (kind of like another instance of turning one of lewis’s good traits into a bad one.)
logos is kind of like the manifestation of everything smith reasoned himself out of doing.
Ooh maybe in one of the final chapters we have a callback to the line in ch7 (I think?) “the monster dives.” maybe we get to a point where lewis’s body has been so forcibly transmogrified, and then there’s the final confrontation and the angel imagery and he goes back to the world of the living. Maybe in one of these three chapters they also take his eyes?
Chapter 12 starts with the fakeout white room “you died.” all three of them choose not to accept this, they punch out (revealing they are on k2-54b) and then…? Maybe smith comes with them for this, since he’d know the layout of the overdrive headquarters best.
What happens chapter 10:
- logos appears
- it starts to rain
- is isami well enough to pilot?
- maybe lewis, smith, and lulu have to pilot it to get smith back to thumoeides (the entire time lewis is like eww ew ewww this is so weird)
- then they have their meeting with logos (isami stays with miyu)
- sweet sweet dog degradation of Smith
- more fightinggg (maybe lulu leads this one?)
- at some point I want them to take logos’s bow so that we can use the cool unfurling iris imagery
“ This is our final battle. You will not take the earth/him!” [put this somewhere else]
[maybe save this for later?] “So, what, you’re giving up?” Lewis calls to him as they follow. Smith stops and looks over his shoulder with a wistful grin.
“No,” he answers with a slight shake of his head, “I’m going home.” [this part][im a little drunk so past this point might be nonsense]
Cryptic. Although Lewis guesses that’s his usual.
Isami winces as he stands. [he aint goin with.]
[bla bla bla GET THEM TO THE DAMN ROBOT ALREADY]
Her expression sours at the vacant eyes that stare back.
“Come on, guys!” Miyu assists, “You gotta combine! It’s even the same pilot, so you know you’re compatible.”
Isami looks back at Lewis slowly, eyebrows raised in an unsure expression, as if to ask are you okay with this?
Lewis nods back. “Just get us on him and I’ll handle the rest.”
chap 12: the first thing Lewis feels is the warm pads of Isami's fingers on his cheek.
Chap 11 opens with Isami being inside a dream of the “perfect life” where he’s married to Lewis and his brother is still alive. Maybe eventually they figure out the whole thing’s a sham and confront death itself. Or lulu? Maybe her seeing superbia is what gets her out of it
maybe we see everyones dream worlds?!
“ Come on,” Lewis says, “we can set you free.”
It’s easy. It’s comfortable.
It’s not his life.
Chapter 11 – Reqiuem
lewis finds isami tied up to The Machine, frees him and they combine? Bravern appears one last time?
Do they fix all the shit they caused or do we just time warp it back to before it happens?
Maybe instead of bravern its magna kaiser laying like just beneath the surface under the sand, so when they combine again the mech rises up from the ground and swallows them up. That way we can pick everyone up in it too.
Lulu transmitter still blinking, maybe that’s partly how they get back. She opens a portal and they climb through, essentially.
Lewis finds isami, isami siphoning earth's energy for the overdrives. They combine, it blows the whole thing up, and they become bravern again in order to be reborn
Maybe lulu finds him in his room? Gets him out, then they explore together maybe find miyu?
Lois lane superman scene in ep12 like flying up kiss. Death can’t make him human again but he gets to transform yay
going deeper into the house kind of like peeling back layers of things lewis loves and cherishes most or something like that. So its like 1st layer – parents house. 2nd layer – military base. 3rd layer – lulu. 4th layer – isami. Ooh maybe here we use the something old new borrowed blue thing?
Ch11 starts off where ch10 ends kind of – we rewind to when lewis loses his eyesight and follow miyu.
She gets ejected just as Magna Spirit Kaiser goes down
ch11
- opens with hibiki in the hospital watching the news, flipping through the channels. She sees reporters reporting on multiple country calamities (volcanos erupting, massive heat waves, basically any kind of environmental and alien destruction).
- we see smith and Isami on medical tables. Here the death villain guy will kind of go over the idea of the soul again. Something something like we were able to get almost everything from you. Your brain. Your spirit. Your desire. But one thing we were unable to claim was this: your bravery. It’s then that we realized that what made it so impossible to remove wasn’t your will or strength or anything like that, it’s that it’s tied up with him (Isami.) Maybe he throws their dog tags on the table and thats how the two of them realize that they’re dead. I just like the dog tag imagery OK let me live.
- maybe the way they break out is they were like you think its bravery but you’re wrong its actually love!!! wahh!!!
- maybe put lulu inside the house. She sees all the pictures of everyone, follows her beeping hand to a door in the center of the kitchen, and makes the travel down to the center of lewis’s “heart.”
- cut back to hibiki. Miyu makes her way to the hospital, somehow unharmed and here after the blast? Why?
Ch11 ACTUAL outline of things that happen (not necessarily in order)
- messenger appears, the totality begins. Centipede monster emerges from mauna kea
- isami and lewis are strapped onto operating tables. Lewis is opened up so that they can retrieve core parts to collect their data.
- a thing comes up where they’re trying to start some kind of engine using the parts from smith but its not working. This comes back later along with that pesky “it’s both of us” thing that keeps cropping up.
- meanwhile, his eyes are the first thing plugged in. maybe we have a discussion on like humanity and morality here? Since the deathdrives/overdrives don’t see him as a person, he’s a tool. So the “mini arc” of this chapter could be maybe him regaining his humanity back completely.
- with his eyes, he sees the spikey death guy fully (maybe like a smaller version of the centipede monster?) who puts his spikey little fingers up to isami and is basically gonna try and trifle through his memories and thoughts to find out how to get this engine started. Or like, they’re basically trying to kickstart his willpower energy, if that makes sense. So they’re going through memories but also making new ones.
- lulu still also falls into her own memory by choice, and that gives her advice for how to find where smith and isami are. Maybe also get some closure?
- I think it would be kinda funny if miyu tumbled in and then tumbled right back out. Maybe this is how we see the centipede thing, and then she’s able to radio in to the base.
- “I found your heart, oh my god, it was still beating.”
- omg this chapter could end with butterfly imagery. Magna kaiser/bravern emerging from the centipede with big wings beautiful chrysalis
- maybe this is when lulu makes the sacrifice that allows bravern to come back. Like literally burns herself up so that they can escape.
- does the episode end with the world being reset? Maybe once bravern bursts out the centipedes dying gift or whatever is to completely reset the world.
CHAPTER 12 planning
ideas:
- isami at the doctor, lewis at the mechanic
- maybe theyve got more of a stronger psychic link now? Or something?
- either Superbia communicates through the necklace or he’s got a little imp version that flies around with Lulu
- 3 year timeskip before the wedding because there’s still the after shocks of what was done to the world
- able to shape-shift into soul forms?
Go more into the effects of being more obviously half robot half human. Smith’s spine frequently hurts. It’s harder for him to walk some days. He needs frequent maintenance.
Nothing hurts when he’s Bravern. So, for the next 3 months as they make their way around the world, he’s just Bravern. When the dust settles just a little bit and they finally get back, he hasn’t been human for so long that he can barely stand. He has to go into physical therapy.
Okay lets step away from the wedding aspect for a second because I just don’t think it’s viable. There’s too much we’d need to address (meeting the families, all the planning, yada yada.) I think chapter twelve should focus on the immediate aftermath of the last fight, and Smith and Isami deciding where to go from here. I think we can potentially give Lulu a universe/timeline-hopping ability via the Superbia pendant? Or maybe it’s just a way that she can enter that limbo state to talk to him or something.
