Summary
Smith sinks deeper into the blanket. He places a hand over his forehead. The shadow of his hand blocks the vivid color of his eyes. “You know, if I were any other girl, I'd have thought you'd roofied me.”
“I didn't —”
“I know you didn't. I just —” Smith lifts his hand to look at Isami. “— know you wouldn't. But I don't think I know who you are.”
There's a beat, a pause, as Isami takes a deep breath. The sheets feel scratchy under his fingertips, cheap — ultimately colder without Smith grinning within them.
“I’m Isami Ao,” he says, careful, tentative; the words always feel like sandpaper on his tongue. “I'm your partner.”
“Isami Ao,” Lewis Smith intones. “My partner.”

Summary
The blurred lights parted to make way for a figure. A streak of red. A taut frame. An expression; brows furrowed, mouth downturned, the very picture of worry. Naruhodou wanted to reach over and grasp that face, smother it in- in- something akin to affection but not quite. Couldn't be as simple as one word.
"Naruhodou!" He heard when his ears started working again, spat in such a fierce fashion it made heads turn, it made the planet Earth tilt, just a little. "I've been looking for you!"
Naruhodou shrugged of the classmate's arm, took a step forward towards Asougi, and nearly smoked his face on the floor.

Summary
What was the point of this? Why had Naruhodou brought him up here, laid with him on the grass, and urged him to watch the clouds together? What was the meaning? It was as if Kazuma Asougi had been tossed into a lesson to explain the nuance of a formal sentence, in a language he couldn't speak. Leave aside the tone of it, he couldn't even begin to understand the words in it, couldn't even translate them.
This strange, confusing, inexplicable man. Even when the wet grass was scratching his cheek, Asougi felt a fire brew within. Did Naruhodou plan all this? Did he plan to lay Asougi down gently like this, leave him tongue-tied and frustrated, did he plan even the pleasant weather?
All of a sudden, it felt unfair to not have a name for this slow simmering anger.
-or, they go cloud watching, and forget to do that.

‘Why do you keep staring at me,’ Ryuunosuke asks, lax lips pursed with curiosity. No protest, no discomfort; just plain interest, clear as day, and Kazuma can’t be more gratefully relieved for it.
‘It’s … sorry. Even now, I still—can’t shake the feeling,’ Kazuma admits, straightening his shoulders, hardening his jaw. No point in swerving the truth, after all. ‘You really don’t remember us meeting at any point before the speech contest?’
Or: slightly canon-divergent AU in which Kazuma and Ryuunosuke don't particularly remember some fragments of their younger years, but that doesn't stop them from somehow drifting into each other's lives again when it matters, either way. -

Summary
The dim light of an oil lamp lights the space of a small attic loft. Flickering over a series of letters addressed to a man dead to the world. Letters addressed to a dead man hold no value until that man comes back from the dead in a blaze of glory.
Ryuunosuke isn't sure how he started writing letters to Kazuma, they all stayed unopened in a box never to see the light of day, mostly ramblings and laments of his, addressed to his dead companion. That is until Kazuma returns, which turns everything on its head only further adding to the mystery developing in London's depths. It doesn't help that Kazuma's avoidant and detached behavior leaves a trail of unanswered questions for Ryuunosuke and Susato (along with the strange patchwork of characters they've met) to try and piece together.
