Morgan poured the poison into the tea. Ever since she was released, she had been plotting ways to ensure Pearl would gain her rightful place as Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique once and for all. And she decided that if she wants something done right, she should do it herself. And what better way would there be than atroquinine? She used a specifically marked teacup for “Mystic” Maya and an ordinary one for herself. She walked to Maya’s room carrying a tray holding the cups.
“Morgan? What brings you here?” Maya asked, rising from her meditative pose.
“Why, to bring you some tea, Mystic Maya,” Morgan replied, handing Maya the marked cup.
“Thank you,” Maya said, feeling cautious but taking the drink, anyway. She starting drinking, causing Morgan to smirk and leave. 15 minutes later, Maya’s throat started to burn. Then, she started seizing, her limbs trembling, her back arching, and her mouth foaming. Maya then realized all too late what happened: Morgan had poisoned her. Then Maya slowly stopped moving, which caused her to realize that she was dying. As her eyes closed for the final time, tears started to slowly fall from her eyes and down her cheeks. A while later, Morgan walked back in to see if Maya is dead. Seeing the body that now lies before her, Morgan smirked as she walked away to call the ambulance. Finally, her daughter Pearl will get the destiny she deserves. Finally, Pearl will be the Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique. And Morgan will gladly enjoy every minute of it.
The funeral was just a few weeks later. Thankfully, Morgan was able to get away with her plot. Despite her prior conviction, they didn’t even suspect her!
“Mother, what is going to happen, now?” Pearl asked once that foolish, stupid girl was buried.
“Now?” Morgan asked, smiling. “Why, now you will begin your training as Kurain Master.”
“But...but what about taking time to grieve for Mystic Maya?” Pearl asked.
“First, do not refer to that worthless girl by that title, anymore!” Morgan said, becoming more stern. “She doesn’t deserve it; she never has.Secondly, your duty is to become Kurain’s Master, now, so act like it!”
“But I don’t want to be Kurain Master!” Pearl cried out. “I want Mystic Maya to be here with us!”
“Stop that nonsense!” Morgan snapped. “I told you already, that stupid girl doesn’t deserve her title! You do! So stop all this crying and begin your duties right away!”
“Yes, Mother,” Pearl finally said after she stopped crying in order to stop Morgan from yelling any further. She walked with Morgan to begin her training and duties to be Kurain Master. Morgan the smirked once more in victory. Finally, her victory is secure.
