Chapter Text
Tim Shepherd considered himself rather lucky to have been standing under the back awning of one of those shops downtown. If he hadn’t, he wouldn’t have seen the shady figure lurking through the alley.
He didn’t bat an eye at Tim, who took another drag on his cigarette as he watched quietly. The man, shrouded by the darkness of the rainy night, carried a box with him. After reaching what he considered a good place to put the box, he set it behind one of the dumpsters and vanished back onto the street.
Curiosity killed the cat, and now it was likely going to kill Tim as well. After he was certain that man was gone, he dropped his cigarette, crushing it with his heel, and went off to dig for the box.
It wasn’t hard to find. It was bigger than Tim realized. He yanked the soggy cardboard tabs open, and what sat inside was not at all what he would’ve ever expected.
