The house was dark, the only light coming from the moon filtering through the windows. Harry loved the moon, as a child he always adored it, and attempted to sneak out of the cupboard whenever possible to gaze at it.
Because the moon had been there with him through thick and thin. It’s always been next to him. When he first arrived at Hogwarts, he was ecstatic with the fact that he could watch it for hours into the late night without disruption. The fear was all the same, and he payed for the lack of sleep come morning, but it was worth it.
Harry moved quietly down the stairs, his footsteps silent on the carpeted steps.
He could hear the faint ticking of the kitchen clock, each second stretching out into an eternity. It was comforting, as silly as it sounds.
