Chapter Text
Gem was heading to the tour bus after her and the Scotts’ concert. Scott and Impulse were out with some friends who lived here. They were going to stay here for a couple more days but this was their last concert for the week. It was 10:26 pm on a Wednesday. Once she got to the bus she opened the door and went to where she kept her stuff. She was changing into more comfortable clothes when she heard a knock on the door. She realized she had forgotten to lock it. She hadn’t put on a hoodie yet but just faced away and shouted,
“Come in!”
The door slowly opened, showing a girl with long, light brown hair and a red hoodie. She was also wearing some denim shorts that were rolled up and sneakers. She had her hood over her head and had some bandages on her legs. Her eyes were a sky blue. She looked nervous and when she saw Gem quickly put an arm up to cover her eyes.
“Put on a shirt mate!” The woman said. Gem laughed and tugged on her hoodie before walking over to the other person. She assumed they were Australian from the accent.
“So, who are you?” She asked. She looked over the woman again now that she was closer. She had on a gray and black backpack with a little wolf keychain, as well as three hearts. They were green, yellow, and red. The woman pulled down her arm and put out a hand to shake. Gem shook it.
“I’m Pearlescent Moon! I’m a big fan of yours… I’m here to ask for a bodyguard position,” Pearlescent quickly said, “You can also just call me Pearl, with you and the Scotts getting more popular I was thinking ya might need one?” Pearl had a light blush now and had stuffed her hands in her pockets. She leaned back some, still managing to tower over Gem. “I have a resume in my backpack if you need it.” She blurted out.
“Oh- um… I don’t really need a resume… You okay with moving around a lot?” Gem asked hesitantly, a bit surprised by the proposition.
“Yup! I’ve done jobs like this before after all..” Pearl said. She was back to standing normally, looking at Gem. Gem thought for a second about the answer but brushed it off.
“I’ll have to ask the Scott’s about it,” Gem looked around the bus. “And you’ll have to get your stuff… but in my eyes you’re hired!” Pearl grinned at this. “Can I have your number- to get back to you about the answer,”Gem asked.
“Sure,” Pearl said. She pulled out her phone and showed Gem her number. She put it back once Gem put up a thumb. She opened the door and stepped out to the ground. Gem held the door open and looked at her. “Text me later to make sure the numbers are correct!” Pearl noted. She jogged away with a, “G’night mate!” Gem smiled and shut the door before she went and laid down on her bed.
She got a text from Scott saying Impulse and him were going to be back soon. Gem sighed and sent back an “Ok.” She went to the perso- Pearl’s phone number and sent a hello, making sure to say who she was as well. She flipped to lay on her side and set her phone down. It was late and she had no idea what could happen tomorrow, she should get some sleep. She closed her eyes and feel to sleep soon after.
