Work Text:
I never knew wine
I never liked inns
Maybe ‘s just me.
Or the slow song on the radio
From a woman named Laura—
To her
One and only
But it varies.
This feeling.
Right now, it's coming from the lot.
The bad black, of it and the car.
The darkness behind the wheel, the bad black scares me. And it holds me to an end.
It makes it like it's real, and it makes me believe
that I'll never get a smile, like the song is singing of. But then that singer
She cries of hope, and for the second I feel all around me, I think of yours
And then I know
That I might never need a lover
I’ll never want a ring
You and your hugs
Are all I need to the end of this black evening
And now it's not the darkness
But the numbers I see.
