"I really miss her..."
It has already been two days without having talked with your crush and you feel like your life is as meaningless as the empty glass of beer in front of you.
You can't go another day without getting a single glint of attention from those beautiful ocean blue eyes, you thought of yourself as good as dead if you were to keep getting ignored from the only person of whom you ever wanted to get noticed from.
How would you have guessed that two days could weight the same as two years, you are feeling really miserable.
And where has that led you? Drinking beer with your good pal (who probably thinks of you as more of a parasite than a friend), Shane.
"And what do I have to do with this? I don't really care." He chided while taking another big sip of his beer.
In response you give him a heartbroken look that shouts 'You should repent for being a sorry excuse of a drinking buddy' which he somehow profusely ignores.
Were you stood up by your partner on a cold rainy day? Kicked out of your home's warmth for a petty reason? Were you mourning over your non-existent's grandma's loss who died in your dreams and you seek the comfort of another human being? Well then DON'T seek comfort from a person called Shane. Your day is guaranteed to transform from a bad day to one of your worst days of your life!!
Nevertheless, you don't really hate nor blame him, he has his own reasons for being the way he is and you find comfort in the fact that his life is even more fucked up than yours. Maybe you are a bad person for thinking this way. You consider treating him to beer more often.
Where did you left off? Oh yeah. The two glasses of beer were already doing a number on you.
You wish Haley was here to take care of you like she used to after a long day, you missed her harsh yet soothing touch so much. You would pathetically let her do anything to you right now, she could find use in you by using you as a punching bag for her to release her frustrations on, or maybe use you as her special ashtray again and mark you until you bleed red. Anything to get her attention. You long for her so bad it feels like the suffering will never end.
The thought that she might hate you now for something you don't know you did brought painfully burning tears sliding down your face, a pain you put in the category along with the least favorites considering the situation.
"I feel like I've lost my will to live." You groan in defeat, feeling your eyelids get heavy and unconsciously lean your head by the bar table.
"Welcome to the club- Hey wait, I'm not gonna look after your sorry ass if you decide to sleep here, wake up." Shane your buddy was clearly done with you from the sound of his voice and you were too with yourself.
You feel a little dizzy, everything was moving around and around in places they clearly did not belong. That must be your cue to finally indulge yourself in sleep's warm embrace.
You feel yourself give in slowly, barely hearing Shane's voice mixing with someone else's on the background anymore.
However, as tempting as sleep's calling looked right now, you didn't want to actually give in just yet. You didn't want to wake up to another day where Haley puts her best efforts into ignoring you again. You wonder for how long do you have to endure this torture for until she comes back to you.
"Haley..." You whimpered as you were now at your limit and ready to travel into the dreamland, your voice coming out as a raspy sob.
"Yeah?"
...
Huh...? You glanced up, squinting your eyes to focus into the silhouette of a person sitting in the next stool beside you... Was it... Haley? Or maybe Shane? Your world was too fuzzy, you couldn't identify the person beside you but you knew it surely couldn't be Haley, Haley hated you after all.( Your heart stings.)
The person beside you had their eyebrows furrowed and you think you can make out light blue eyes glaring at you from the lack of response. Well it didn't matter, you decided it'd be better to just fall asleep instead of playing along with the cruel joke reality was trying to pull on you right now after all.
Having the world abuse your mentality wasn't something new and while you were getting accustomed to it, you wish you could catch a break at least this time around. You could barely breath, it hurt so much.
Nonetheless, if it that was truly Haley, she probably would have snapped at you right now for hanging out this late at night in the bar with someone other than her and her hand would probably not just be reaching out for you to caress your face in a pitiful yet lovely manner...
*Thump*
Your heart almost stopped for a dangerously longer time than it should've upon realizing. There is no way you wouldn't recognize that unique sweet scent and blissful soft touch.
"Haley...?"
The figure beside you remained silent but you didn't need any more clues to be aware that the love of your life was sitting beside you and currently staring at the mess of a person you are.
You couldn't contain yourself anymore, you jumped into her arms almost throwing you both off the stool that was trying it's best to endure the added weight.
You cried and sobbed in her arms, knowing fully well that you'd get punished for such a shameless act later but couldn't bring yourself to care at the moment. You just want this moment to last forever, for the person in your embrace to never leave you alone again and to take responsibility for breaking you over the time you were apart.
"You are so cruel... !! I love you Haley but you are terrible... I hate you I hate you!" You gripped her back harder, simultaneously trying to get a grip over yourself.
"Stop crying." Haley retorted, yet you could feel her rubbing comforting circles on your back. "You better have prepared a good excuse to be out drinking at this hour."
Your voice came out with shaky uncontrollable sobs, you couldn't help but be embarrassed for acting like a baby in front of her. "Promise!! *sniff* promise me you'll never leave me again." You begged.
You could feel Haley roll her beautiful alluring ocean eyes before replying "Fine, I promise. Now get up. I've been burdened with the task to take your useless ass home, oh lucky me."
You slightly nodded your head and let her help you carry you back home. Overjoyed to finally be back where you belonged.
