Work Text:

On a bright Saturday morning, the sun peeked through the curtains of a cozy little apartment, casting a warm glow over the room. Yeonwoo stirred awake, his head resting on a pillow that smelled faintly of lavender. He turned to see Kang Haesol still asleep, her cascade of smooth, dark hair flows effortlessly. A smile crept across his face as he reached out to gently cradles her face in his hands, gazes at her with tenderness.

“Haesol, wake up..It's Beautiful day!” he whispered, his voice soft and playful.

With a groggy groan, Haesol cracked one eye open, squinting at the sunlight. “Is it time for breakfast already?” she mumbled, stretching like a cat.

Yeonwoo giggled and jumped out of bed. “Only if you help me make pancakes!”

Within minutes, they were both in the kitchen, flour dusting their noses and laughter filling the air. Yeonwoo poured the batter onto the sizzling skillet while Haesol tried her best to flip the pancakes only to fail miserably ( poor Haesol )

“Oops!” she chuckled, trying to catch one mid-air.

After a delicious breakfast that was more about the fun than the mess, they decided to take advantage of the sunny weather. Yeonwoo grabbed a picnic basket, filling it with sandwiches, fresh fruit, and a couple of cookies— his secret stash for later. Haesol packed a blanket and a frisbee, grinning at the thought of spending the day outdoors.

They headed to the nearby park, where vibrant flowers bloomed and laughter echoed from children playing on swings. Finding a perfect spot under a large oak tree, they laid out their blanket and settled down.

“Let’s eat first,” Yeonwoo suggested, pulling out the sandwiches. They shared bites and stories, their playful banter punctuated by bursts of laughter. After lunch, Haesol challenged Yeonwoo to a game of frisbee.

“Prepare to be amazed by my skills!” she declared dramatically, throwing the frisbee high into the air.

Yeonwoo dashed after it, his heart racing with joy. He caught it mid-flight and spun around to throw it back with all his might. The game continued with friendly competition, each trying to outdo the other until they collapsed on the blanket, breathless and giggling.

As they lay side by side, watching fluffy clouds drift by, Yeonwoo turned to Haesol. “What’s your favorite part of today?” he asked softly.

Haesol smiled, her eyes sparkling. “Honestly? Just being here with you. It doesn’t matter what we do as long as we’re together.”

Feeling his heart swell, Yeonwoo leaned in and kissed her softly. “I feel the same way.”

The afternoon drifted into evening, and as the sun began to set, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, they packed up their things and headed home. Back in their little apartment, they cozied up on the couch with a movie and some popcorn.

As the credits rolled, Haesol turned to Yeonwoo, wrapping her arm around his shoulder. “We should make this a tradition,” she said, looking into his eyes.

“I’d love that,” he replied, snuggling closer.

With their hearts full and smiles wide, they knew that this day was just one of many adventures they would share together—a reminder that sometimes, the simplest days are the most beautiful ones.
