Chapter Text

Why wouldn’t parents rush when they get a last-minute date night thanks to grandparents? After the call with her parents and then with Adrien, Marinette agreed to drop the kids off and just meet Adrien at the bar after work.

Getting her 3 blessings from school and driving them to the Bakery, she went over the usual basic rules.

“One; I expect you three to behave yourselves and listen! Two; Do.. Not.. Break.. Anything! Three;  please, please, please Be Good and don’t make Grand-maman or Grand-papa call mommy or daddy!” She stressed for her kids to understand.

“Yes maman!” All three said together.

“I’m for real! I’m especially talking to you mister Hugo…” she spoke as she eyed him specifically through the rare view mirror of the car. Both his siblings pushing to the side to not be close and in her line of fire.

“Okay maman! I get it, no jokes this time.” He closed his eyes and let out a small sigh.

“Okay kiddos, I really hope you have a fun time though and we will pick you up sometime tomorrow.” She spoke as the car pulled up to the bakery. The closed sign glowing bright in the window as they got out and walked around to the side door. As they walked closer the door suddenly swung open and out popped Tom.

“Hunny!! The grands are here!” He shouted back through the doorframe before bounding out to grab up the kids in a huge hug.

“UGH” they all groaned in unison as they were squeezed to almost death by grandparent.

“Oops, sorry kiddos! It’s just been so long since we last saw you!” Tom sniffled a bit at the overwhelming joy.

“Dad, they were just over here two days ago. You know, when you had to get them from school because Adrien and I both had meetings that ran long. Not to mention that the kids are over here more then at home, and you let them eat all the sweets!” She crossed her arms and gave her father a look, the look.

“Aw, little strawberry. One day when you have grandchildren, I know you will understand this pure joy we grandparents feel when having the grands over and being able to send them back home!” Tom busted out laughing as Sabine finally made her way to the door.

“Tom, now leave those youngsters alone.” Sabine said to her husband before turning to the kids. “Hello my sweets! Have you enough of your Grand-papa and ready to come in yet?”

No answer was needed as all three gave their Grand-maman a hug one by one and then walked inside.

“Well, bye!” Marinette shouted as the kids disappeared inside. She then turned to her parents and said; “Thank you again for the last-minute arrangement. Adrien was over the moon when I called him.”

“Say no more sweetheart. I know we help watch them a lot and they are always free to come over when they want. But you can also ask for a night out too. We know you work so hard helping Adrien running the fashion house and you both need a break too! Away from the kids.” Sabine winked at her last statement.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Tom asked with a smile on his face.

“Nothing dad! Moms just gone crazy, you know!” She squeaked out in embarrassment, hugging Sabine and turning to rush off. “Bye, have fun with the kids!” She shouted as she started back to her car.

“Come now Tom, why do you still have to embarrass her so?” Sabine said under her breath.

“Because it’s still fun.” He answered as he started laughing and watching the car pull away.

A few minutes later and Marinette was finally on her way to the bar. She had already sent Adrien a text letting him know she was on her way. Suddenly the phone rang, looking at it and seeing Alya’s name showing, she answered immediately.

“Hey girl! How are those kids doing?” Alya started as soon as the phone connected.

“Hello Alya! They are good. In fact, I just dropped them all off at my parents and meeting Adrien for a night out! How are the twins?”

“Nice! That sounds like an amazing idea!” Alya said but moved away from the speaker and whispered to someone close by before speaking again in the phone. “Oh girl, the twins are good! Unruly as ever!” Alya said with a little chuckle and sigh. “I just don’t know how you do it with three. I have two and want to pull my hair out daily.”

Marinette laughed out loud before she spoke. “Alya, the twins are only three. I promise it gets better in time. But also having amazing grandparents to help is such a plus!”

“Your parents wouldn’t want some extra grandkids every so often, would they?” Alya asked and for the first time she actually sounded a bit shy.

“We have told you time and time again, they are just as much your kid's grandparents as they are mine. You are my sister, and they are my niece and nephew. I don’t know what to say about Nino, but he is welcome too!” Mari giggled as she heard Nino in the background complaining.

“Thanks girl! Maybe I’ll see if they can help some too for some short breaks at the least.”

“Yes! They would love that! We can also plan a night out, like a double date next time!” Marinette suggested. It had been a while since the group had gotten together. The guys played games online and the girls had coffee dates but for them to all get together again would be the greatest.

“Well, I’ll let you get back to that date night of yours. Tell Adrien I say ‘Hi’ and y’all be careful, we don’t need a fourth added to the Agreste chaos!”  Alya started laughing and Nino could be heard in the background laughing too.

“ALYA!!” Mari shouted into the phone. “Goodnight!” Going to press the button she heard Alya answer back her goodnight and then was gone.

Five more minutes and she was parking the car, gathering her things into her purse and getting out. She closed the door behind her, locked it and walked towards the entrance. Opening the door to the bar and walking in she stopped and looked around to find Adrien. To her surprise she found him sitting at the bar with some women dressed like a walking fashion disaster.

Her heart started pounding in her chest and she could feel it in her ears as she tried to breath to keep herself calm. ‘Of course he had other women wanting to hang around him. He is a retired model and definitely has not lost his touch one bit. You know, now that I think about it, it’s not fair he still looks so amazingly attractive. No wonder our kids are so adorably cute!’ She squealed in excitement as she thought about how handsome her husband is and how cute the kids were.

She pushed her shoulders back and stood tall. ‘I’m Ladybug for crying out loud and I look just as good in my beautifully designed dress that will be shown in all the top magazines in just a week!’ She thought again as she hyped herself up, but first a bathroom break, she decided as she started towards the restroom.

Walking back out she still had her LB confidence as she started towards her husband and the women who was now trying to move closer to him. The look on his face told it all as she got closer and could tell this was someone he knew but definitely did not enjoy being around.

Adrien turned his head just slightly and caught her eyes, his widening in surprise as she walked up to the opposite side of him.
