Work Text:
Faintly shining sun through the window curtains, laying on bed with average quality fabric yet soft and cushioned pillow beneath the head and his body are beneath a thick fabric, looking up at the ceiling as a man the other side snuggled him tightly as he snores.
Albert doesn't remember how did they got to this point, he is always lives with spotted memories all due to his chronic migraine. All he could remember was them both going on out dining together to a fancy restaurant to catching up one another, along with Albert revealing the of about the true identity of The Professor and what happened to the Grim Reaper. He could remembered Barok absolutely appalled face seeing the numbers on the food menu and Albert reminded him that he will pay all of it, and made Barok even more worried as he waving his hands in protest that he shouldn't treat him this well.
Then to him crying on Barok's chest while he giving Albert a firm hug and light pat on his head on front of Barok's hotel building, Albert was supposed to go back to his manor but wind up crying porfusely into his partner's arms.
He doesn't remember why did he crying in public area but only vaguely called upon him spout anything in such sorrow and weariness, not what his words coming out of his mouth and why did he felt at that moment. But before he could dive in more of that thought, his vision of the memory of that moment turn into him being embrace by Barok. With sudden shock by such warm embrace of the man, he couldn't help it and finally burst to tears.
People had given a stare and glaring look at both of them, especially with both of their reputations preceded them. But those people's thoughts and feelings do not matter to Albert at that moment, he could not hold it in any longer, and it seems that Barok doesn't care about those people except for Albert, silently comforting him at his lowest.
He never felt comfort over the last ten and more years up until that moment, the tenseness of his body had worn off, feel so safe and warm because of this man's love and considerateness. Truly, he is relieved that he is still here with him, together once more...
Now to here he is, in this shabby hotel bedroom in the morning. He thinks, he doesn't really know what to do, he could sneak out of the bed and back to his manor if he hadn't been wrapped around and grappled by Barok with all his might. He has tried to wake him up from his slumber but to no avail. So all he could do was stare up at the ceiling.
It reminds him of a memory Barok talked about at the dining table that he tried to wake him up as he snores in the university's library but failed too many times, so he couldn't do anything other than sit besides him, waiting for Albert to wake up.
Oh, how the table has been turned.
But at the same time, it felt nice and comfy. He hasn't been worried about other things for a long time, with the exception of the man beside him, but that is just a minor problem, really. His apprentice knew that he was taking a few days off to meet up with his man so he could handle things by himself. All he could do is to wait comfortably in his warm body and arms until his partner finally woke up from his slumber.
