“Normally, I come to you in times of celebration,” the Postmaster began. “Today is not one of those days. Our Post Office has stayed strong for four years under Watcher’s rule over our wonderful city. We have done a great service to the citizens of Double Pulse, but I fear that the trade of information is no longer enough. The heroes have gone from turning a blind eye to our business to now hunting members. We do not have the numbers to survive a direct assault, so I come to you not as a Postmaster today but as a fellow vigilante to ask you all to risk your lives, not just your freedom, as we’ve become so accustomed to.”
“We knew this was comin’,” Skizz whispered. He wasn’t sure if it was to try to provide Impulse reassurance before the electricity took over, or trying to convince himself that his world hadn’t started to cave in.
Shaking his head slowly, Impulse met Skizz’s gaze. “Doesn’t make it easier to hear that you were the catalyst event for a war.”
