It was already night-time and the forest had become pitch dark. In the cabin, there was a flickering fire which diffused a warm light towards the wooden walls of the cabin. There was also gentle music being played in the background to give the impression of calmness.
Yeonwoo and Haesol sat close together on the soft sofa with a warm and thick knitted blanket over their legs. The room smelled of pine and woodsmoke, but the comfort which they sought was to be found only in each other’s arms.
Yeonwoo placed his head on Haesol’s shoulder and slightly closed his eyes to enjoy the momentary peace. She put her arm around him and drew him nearer to her. “You know,” she whispered, “this is perfect. ”
Yeonwoo smiled, looking up at her with his big Honey eyes. “It really is. I could stay like this forever. ”
Haesol laughed lightly, running her fingers through his hair and placing the strand back in its proper place.“Well, we will just use the whole weekend enjoying it. ”
At the same moment, as if following a signal, a shooting star flashed across the sky beyond the window of the cabin. “Did you see that?” Yeonwoo asked, his eyes gleaming brightly as a ray of sunshine.
“Oh yeah, let’s go out,” reacted Haesol, who immediately recovered from the shock.
—
Both got up from bed and put on the blanket, then they went out onto the wooden deck. The night was cool and fresh as they stepped out for a while after being intimate inside the house. They gazed up at the night sky and the countless of stars that adorned the sheer black of the night.
The plea took Yeonwoo by surprise and he could only say in a hushed tone, “Wow.” undefined
She shifted towards him, looking deep into his eyes, her emotions overwhelming at how beautiful he was especially under the moonlight. “It’s not as beautiful as you,” she assures, genuinely.
Yeonwoo blushed, averting his eyes in a dejected manner. “You only think that’s true..”
“No, I mean it,” she insisted, stepping closer to him. The space between them felt electric. She reached out and tucked a loose strand of hair behind his ear again, her fingers lingering against his cheek.
In that moment, everything else faded away. The stars seemed to shine brighter, and the world around them fell silent.Heasol leaned down slowly, giving Yeonwoo a chance to pull away if he wanted to. But he didn’t. Instead, he closed his eyes and leaned intoher.
Their lips met softly at first, a gentle exploration that sent shivers down Yeonwoo’s spine. Heasol’s hand found its way to his waist, pulling him closer as the kiss deepened. It was sweet and tender, filled with unspoken promises and the warmth of their connection.
When they finally pulled apart, both breathless, Haesol rested her forehead against his. “I could get used to this,” she murmured.
“Me too,” Yeonwoo rejoined, and the smile blossomed in his cheeks. he placed his arms around her neck and embraced her, and all the warmth that he had desired for so long was in her arms at last.
And they just remained there, close, hugged to each other against the starry night expanse. Above them more stars that were nothing compared to the lights in their hearts.
It is getting cold out here, and you getting cold too...let go back inside.” Haesol proposed after sometime. “I need to hug you for five minutes, watching the fire.”
“That sounds good for me,” yeonwoo said before consenting to hold her hand and head back into the cabin.
—
Once inside, they moved to the couch and lay down comfortably with the blanket enveloping them again. Haesol embraced Yeonwoo tightly and put her chin on his head so they could watch the fire and be quiet.
“I like this place so much,” she whispered.
“Me too,” yeonwoo said quietly, smiling as he wrapped his arms around her more tightly. He placed his face close to her chest and listened to her steady rhythm heartbeats as he shut his eyes.
Held close in the comfort and affection they shared, they understood that no matter what they would face later in their lives, they had this – the happy glow of a night spent cuddling and kissing beneath the stars.
