Work Text:

Just one trip. All Danny had wanted was one short trip that didn't get completely derailed by ghosts. But nooooooooo, his school trip to New York just had to get interrupted by his ghost sense. And while at the Statue of Liberty of all places. Because major historical monuments are totally the place where he wants to run into a ghost.

Maybe he will get lucky and it is just some boring ghost that is supposed to be there.

But nope why would the universe be that nice to Danny?

He looked up at the sound of rockets and saw of all the ghosts in the zone Skulker. Quickly Danny dove behind a bush and transformed. Shooting up into the sky toward the trophy hunter ghost he saw something even more baffling.

Skulker had ropes tied around the body of the statue and was tugging on it. Like he was trying to carry it off. Because that was a normal thing for a ghost to do.

On second thought, it was completely in character for the ghost.

"Hey Skulker! What do you think you are doing?" Danny shouted at him.

He stopped trying to lift the stature to turn and look at Danny.

"What are you doing here, whelp? Shouldn't you be in school?" he asked, in his signature loud tone.

"We're on a class trip," Danny said, annoyed.

Skulker somehow managed to shrug while still holding the lines taught.

"Well, that just means I can add two things to my collection!"

He fired one of his shoulder rockets at Danny. Who blasted them out of the air with his own blasts. The fight really began. They traded blasts at each other and Danny managed to get the ropes detached from the other ghost. But that left them dangling from the statue.

Which meant they were in the perfect place for Danny to get tangled in when he was thrown. Then somehow manage to pull the statue over. Because of course that was how Danny's life always went.

He was one of the ghosts that destroyed the Statue of Liberty.
