    The first time Sam went on a date after his divorce from Bucky was finalized, he was excited. No butterflies, beads of sweat, or shaking hands; just an overblown anticipation for the night to come that couldn’t possibly be healthy.

    And it wasn’t. Sam just didn’t recognize that at the time.

    Oh, he knew he’d accepted his cousin’s offer to set him up on a blind date for all the wrong reasons alright, but in the moment he’d felt like he was justified in those wrong reasons. So, actually, they hadn’t seemed all that wrong at all.
