Summary
After the events of Pearl Harbor, Rose is still feeling cautious around the Doctor, but she isn't sure why. Her trauma, after surviving such a horrible attack, is tangled up with her current feelings for her Time Lord. She doesn't know how far she can trust him or what will send him running, but she is always afraid that the next words out of her mouth will be the one that crushes her hopes forever.
Meanwhile, the Doctor tries very hard to prove himself. He's putting any former hangups behind him, more focused on making the woman he loves happy, than his past or self-hatred. He wants to help Rose recover and deal with the horrific events surrounding the historical event, but when his good intentions only end up making her more frustrated, his friends lend him a helping hand.
With the help of the TARDIS, Jack, and an old companion, the couple talk through some of their issues and get a good dose of domesticity, soothing some of their lingering pain. However, Rose learns that she isn't the only one haunted by the evils of war. The lovers find a way to comfort and love each other through their pain, showing both that they will always have someone to lean on.
