Chapter Text
The sun was high and bright in the sky- beating down on the vast sea of sand that was the Gerudo Desert. There was not much to be seen in this dangerous and humid landscape overrun by giant Moldugas and Lizalfos. However, at the heart of this forsaken desert stood a grand city known as Gerudo Town. Located next to a small oasis, Gerudo Town was famous all over the Kingdom of Hyrule for its many high end shops, grand architecture, and a delicious drink known as the noble pursuit. Many traveled far and wide to visit or vacation in the beautiful city. And today was no exception, as a black stallion carrying a pair of Hylians galloped across the sandy wasteland towards the oasis.
The Hylians names were Manson and Lindsay, a husband and wife who were traveling to the fabled Gerudo Town to celebrate their honeymoon. They had gotten married the year prior, but unfortunately did not have the funding at the time to go anywhere outside their home of Hateno Village (it also didn't help that most places outside of the village were overrun by monsters). But with the end of the Great Calamity and months of saving up, they finally had enough rupees to both make the treacherous journey to and enjoy themselves at their dream location of Gerudo Town. Lindsay had actually been the one to suggest going there in the first place when they started discussing possible destinations, as she had always wanted to go ever since hearing about it as a little girl from her mother. Manson however, was very hesitant on going. Not because he had anything against the city itself, no, but rather because of a strict law that the Gerudo followed- only women were allowed inside of the city.
The Gerudo were a tribe that consisted entirely of incredibly strong women (or Vai), and legend had it that if any man (or Voe) was caught sneaking into the city, they would be thrown into an underground jail for the rest of their natural lives (though some said that you would instead be executed immediately in front of the chief). Obviously Manson did not want to meet such a grizzly fate, however, his wife assured him that she had a fool proof plan to get him inside the walls undetected by any guards. Despite not mentioning what this plan entailed, he was eventually convinced to go, as the idea of being one of the only men to get into the forbidden city was just too tempting (plus he was promised alcohol once they arrived). So with that they planned their trip, borrowed a horse from their friends/bosses Tim and Erin, and set off on their long journey towards Gerudo Town.
