“See, there’s hardly any blood, this time.”
The very famous last words of Echo’s having being stated.
As it was, as soon as the team had gotten back to Pabu from their latest mission, it was then when the actual fighting had started. Hunter and Crosshair in each other’s throats. Literally.
The fists were out, thankfully no knives this time around. The punches were thrown without any consideration of hitting the mark with full impact or not. Both intent on actually smacking the others shebs to Pabu’s forth moon.
And yes, there was certainly blood there. Lots of it too.
The months worth of frustration finally pouring out from both Crosshair and Hunter.
The bickering having been one thing, the not talking part too. But now, all bets were off as the two were in each others hair (or bald in Crosshair’s case) and each others throats.
The sounds of impact on the others body heard, loudly so by the observers, two still standing there and the cuts and bruises soon enough forming onto both parties bodies.
Echo having hauled Omega out of the space seeing how distraught the Kid had been seeing the two father figures fighting. Really fighting. Having chosen a small opening just outside the Marauder for their, altercation. Thankfully, it was mostly away from prying eyes.
After all, nobody wanted to see others airing their dirty laundry right in the middle of the town square!
Wrecker and Tech were supervising, ready to pull the plug in case things got too dire, too bloody.
They usually did not. Hunter and Crosshair knowing the limits of actually inflicting permanent injury to this kind of well, sparring of the bloody kind they usually settled things with.
“You think you’re so high and mighty, don’t you Hunter.”
The slurs, meaningless mostly, simply part of the game.
“Pot Kettle Cross! You really thought you could live without, us!”
There was a loud smack as Hunter’s fist hit its target again, splitting Crosshair’s lip in the process.
“How long do you think this will last this time?”
Wrecker not the one to bet on these kinds of fights and yet, he was eager to get Tech’s assessment of said fight. Then again, as much as the Powerhouse enjoyed a good fight, this was getting old, and really really fast too.
“I would say Cross is about to give it up… right about… now.”
Tech wasn’t wrong either. As despite how much Hunter wanted to smack Crosshair around. The feeling having been there ever since their reunion, Crosshair simply didn’t have the energy in him the way he used to have. To fight back.
And so.
Crosshair dropped to his knees, panting heavily while on the ground. Much to both Hunter’s and the other two’s surprise.
“Giving up already?”
Hunter was bouncing around Crosshair, still having lots of energy in him it seemed.
But Crosshair wasn’t getting up nor did he look up and at Hunter.
“You alright in there Crosshair?” Tech shouted to him, ready to help the sniper if needed.
“I… am fine, Tech.”
Wrecker and Tech exchanged glances. The fight was over. And guess, if the old signs were any indication, this was their cue for exit.
They nodded to each other only as they took their leave from the scene. Leaving Hunter getting perhaps a tad worried suddenly, seeing the blood trickling onto the ground from Crosshair’s face.
“Cross?”
Crosshair did not answer immediately though and that got Hunter to worry further. After all, they had not made up in any shape or form since Crosshair’s return. Nothing having been rekindled. And right now, Crosshair did not look too hot, in a manner of speaking.
Hunter knelt down beside Crosshair, the former hostilities all vanishing suddenly. Talk was cheap, but fisticuffs were even cheaper. And right now, Hunter wanted only to make sure Crosshair was alright.
Hunter’s hand found its way beneath Crosshair’s jaw, guiding Crosshair’s face upwards ever so gently for Hunter to check the open wound.
The cut was visible and blood still pouring out of it. There were several bruises on Crosshair’s face too, marring the chiseled face Hunter loved so very much, making him regret his actions. Almost regret.
Crosshair had been a pain in the shebs for sure and guess, where words failed… Oh well, neither of them was as young as they used to be and so, fighting might not have been the best option for them to resolve, anything really.
“You okay?”
“Do I look okay?”
Yeah, there was still fight left in Crosshair even if he had clearly opted to yield.
“No, you don’t.”
Crosshair’s eyes were on Hunter’s seeing the worry there, he could not help but be touched.
“You worry too much Hunter.”
Crosshair tried to get up, feeling wobbly still, some of Hunter’s fury filled punches having taken a toll on the sniper, clearly.
Hunter grabbed a hold of Crosshair’s arm, helping him up from the ground and standing on his own two feet.
“I always worry about you, Cross. You know that.”
“Yeah? Well, what about this?”
Crosshair swiped some of the blood and presented it to Hunter.
“I… am sorry. We shouldn’t have done that.”
“No?”
“No.”
“Then what do you suggest we should have done instead?”
Crosshair was sounding perhaps a tad coy, issuing a challenge maybe for the scout?
Hunter’s eyes honed in on Crosshair’s, as if searching for something there. And whatever it was, Hunter found it soon enough.
His lips were on Crosshair’s before the other man could object. Not that Crosshair would have objected. He never did. Hunter’s advances were always welcomed, nay, wanted by Crosshair and only a fool would have turned them down.
Despite the blood, the open wound, Hunter deepened their kiss. Their tongues coming out to play, hands rowing, finding purchase in the other’s body while their kissing grew more passionate, more heated. The hunger for the other still there after all this time apart.
“Ewwww, that isn’t very hygienic now is it!”
Gregor and Fireball having made their way to check up on the arrivals after hearing the Marauder lading. Only finding the others already gone and well, Hunter and Crosshair in a tight, blood filled lip-lock?
Hunter and Crosshair broke off, reluctantly so. Their foreheads pressed together as they did, smiling though before turning to the arrivals.
“Yeah? Like you haven’t kissed a bloodied vod before!”
“Well…” Gregor glanced at Fireball as they both broke into a chuckle.
“Come on Cross, let’s get you cleaned up.” Hunter offered, guiding his partner towards their house, with Gregor and Fireball in tow.
As it was, Hunter and Crosshair had a lot to make up for (out) for.
