Chapter Text

Sunny's morning started by not putting on clothes, because he was already wearing clothes. He did nothing.

Sunny read the note his mom left reminding him to brush his teeth, and didn't brush his teeth. He did nothing.

Sunny went downstairs and gazed dully at the fridge, the microwave, and the cupboard, proceeding not to eat anything. He did nothing.

Sunny stared at his computer, silently debating whether to play some blackjack, and deciding against it.

He did nothing.

He continued to stare, blank faced as ever, waiting for nothing and expecting nothing to happen.

Waiting, despite the loud banging coming from his front door.

Something was actually happening, he just didn’t feel like dealing with it just yet.

BANG BANG BANG

“Sunnnnyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? SUNNYYYYYYYYYY?!” A voice from the door roared. The loud thumps from the person’s fists were as, if not louder than the voice itself.

Bearing the noise no longer, he began his trek towards the door. The person on the other end could somehow hear his footsteps despite their incessant banging and yelling as the noise stopped as soon as he got near.

“Hey Sunny! It’s me, Kel!” Kel? Sunny felt like he hadn’t heard that name in ages. “I, uhh, saw that sign in your front yard! Sold, huh? It’s probably been out there for a while now, so I was wondering, y’know, maybe we could hang out again, huh?”

Sunny heard those words and thought deeply. He had already been having a fun time in headspace with Kel though, why would he want to hang out with him again? Still, it had been quite a while since he went outside, for reasons he couldn’t even remember. Maybe it would be nice to get out in the sun again. He wasn't named Sunny for nothing, after all!

With a decisive, yet still hesitant twist of the doorknob, he opened the door to find his friend, who could formerly stand just at eye level, towering over him. Both were in silence as they examined each other. Kel was massive, sprouting at least 2 feet since he last saw him. His hair still looked the same, brown and messy as ever. He was wearing a bright orange sports outfit, from his shirt to his shorts. Sunny felt like it was hurting his eyes as much as the sun was.

After staring for what felt like an eternity, Kel was finally the first one to talk. But rather than any meaningful conversation, he would instead bellow out the strangest phrase Sunny had heard in years.

“YOU CAME OUT?! WHAT THE SIGMA?!
