Hard Worker, Huh?

Summary:

It was taking Taiya a bit too long to finish a 'short little thing' so someone has to go see what happened obviously

Work Text:

"Don't you think Taiya's taking a bit long to finish up?"

"Hmm... now that you mention it... it has been quite a while."

Ishiro and Genba had been waiting for Taiya to finish up some last minute things he wanted to do. He had said it wouldn't take him that long, so both had agreed and waited upstairs in his house, somehow ending up occupying themselves playing cards of all things. All they had wanted was to just get to hang out with their boyfriend for a few hours.

However, it was two hours later and still no sign of Taiya.

"Did he underestimate what he was trying to do? Wouldn't he have told us if that was the case?" Ishiro wondered.

Genba shrugged and stood up. "Who knows. I'll go check on him."

"I can come too." Ishiro began to stand up as well.

"I don't think we need both of us."

"Fine..."

As Genba walked past Ishiro, he gave him a pat on the head. Ishiro glared at his retreating figure, swatting away his hand just a bit too late to stop it.

Genba continued onward and headed down to the basement. It was a little strange going there so late. Not quite spooky, but strange. Normally they didn't come to this area in the evening like this.

He entered the room and started looking around for Taiya. It wasn't hard to find him. He was seated in front of his computer as he had been when they had first left him.

But, Taiya had his head down now. Genba pursed his lips and walked over. He examined the scene and determined that Taiya was asleep. For how long?

"Working too hard, huh?" Genba smiled.

He tapped Taiya on the shoulder. Taiya didn't react. Genba tried again to the same effect.

"Just how tired are you...?" Genba whispered, running a hand through Taiya's hair, that also failing to rouse him.

Genba looked him over for a while, debating what to do. Did he just leave Taiya like this? Didn't seem like the most comfortable place to sleep. Should he try to somehow drag him to bed? Was that a bad idea? Was there a better way to try and wake him up?

"What's taking so long?"

Genba glanced at the door. Ishiro had decided he had enough waiting and came to investigate as well.

Genba held a finger to his lips and nodded to Taiya. Ishiro narrowed his eyes for a moment, and then walked over.

"He fell asleep?" Ishiro asked in a whisper.

"Guess so. I tried to wake him, but to no avail." Genba replied, his voice equally as quiet.

"What do we do then?"

Genba shrugged. "Think getting him to bed is possible?"

"We can try."

Genba gently moved Taiya into a position he could properly grab him from. It took a bit of effort, but eventually he was able to lift Taiya into his arms. Through it all, Taiya still didn't react.

"You got him?" Ishiro questioned.

Genba nodded. "I think so."

They headed back to the house. Ishiro went first to open any doors needed. They slowly but surely managed to get to Taiya's room and laid him down on the bed.

"He must be really tired if that didn't wake him up." Ishiro commented.

"Must have been working hard." Genba smiled, reaching over to brush some hair out of Taiya's face.

Somehow that was what Taiya finally reacted to. He let out a small grumble and then his eyes opened slightly.

"Hey, sleepy head." Genba said. "You fell asleep at your desk."

"I did...?" Taiya rubbed his eyes.

"I brought you to bed."

Taiya glanced around the room as if to confirm he was in his room. He looked between Genba and Ishiro. He still seemed quite tired.

"Go back to bed. We didn't mean to wake you." Ishiro said.

"Only if you join me." Taiya stated.

Ishiro turned bright red while Genba just laughed at the request.

"Needy, aren't we?" Genba teased, already moving into the bed.

After a moment, Ishiro collected himself and joined them. They laid on either side of Taiya. Taiya laid on his back and closed his eyes again. Genba wrapped an arm around him, Ishiro soon opting to copy him. Taiya placed his hands over theirs.

"Goodnight." Taiya whispered.

"Night." Ishiro replied first, nuzzling his head into Taiya's neck.

"Sweet dreams." Genba said, pressing a kiss to Taiya's cheek and then shifting so he could do the same to Ishiro. Ishiro managed to reciprocate his gesture before he pulled away, making him smile.

Genba settled back into his spot and rested his head right beside Taiya's. Taiya had tilted his head to rest it against Ishiro's.

"Sorry about... ditching our plans..." Taiya mumbled quietly.

"We'll just have to do it tomorrow then." Genba replied.

"Yeah. We didn't really have anything do to tomorrow anyway." Ishiro agreed.

"Sounds good..." Taiya said.

It wasn't long after that they could tell he had fallen asleep. They settled down and joined him. It had been a long day.
