Chapter Text
So Frye was doing her things in the Splatlands Y'know just scavenging around looking for stuff, well she was but she was also getting distracted pretty easily, like if she saw a bird or a lizard running off when she picked up a rock, or a beetle? Huh, that was strange, usually there weren’t any beetles in the desert, well there wasn’t much around her so she followed it or tried to, but she got lost near the edge of the crater, the same crater that held the weird tower that once belonged to an old human nation, well it always interested Frye and some nights she would climb it but, most of the time she didn’t, she would just look at it and wonder why was it made, to be a lookout tower for war? To serve as a testament of their vanity? Or something else? Well she didn’t ponder on this for long, before she noticed the weird ooze in it that looked somewhat fuzzy. Oh well, she walked away and wandered about looking for stuff.
A little bit after she walked back and saw that all the Ooze was gone, oh and there was a giant UFO in the sky too and it was coming right for the crater, so Frye just sort of stood and watched it crash down and then it started talking to someone or something. So Frye called Shiver and Big Man because well she wanted them to watch the UFO thingy, oh and now it was fighting something an inkling down there, and well Frye did want to help the inkling, but she did nothing because her brain did the thing of “Oh no, well we can help later.” Oh, yeah the inkling was also on their banditing turf so well if they got taken care of that was a plus, I mean the UFO would have to be taken care of too and well y’know that might be a problem but- Oh, that’s shiver, what’s she saying?
“Frye? Why is there a big hole in the crater?” Shiver asked in the tone of a mother asking her child why there was baking powder all over the floor.
“What? There’s no hol-” Frye looked down, there was indeed a hole. “Oh, never mind.”
“AY! (That’s one big hole.) Big man said, he sounded confused and less irritated than shiver.
“So, like wanna explore it?” Frye asked.
“Oh, of course that’s the first thing your brain goes to you when you see a bottomless hole in our turf, and not the fact that THERE WAS ALSO A FLUXING UFO HERE TOO??” Shiver once again sounded quite annoyed at Frye’s inability to grasp the consequences of things that have happened either due to her or due to other factors in life.
“Well, there’s a giant hole that might have treasure inside of it!” Frye said enthusiastically.
“WHERE THE FUCK IS THE UFO FRYE?” Shiver yelled again before trying to tone their voice down “What the flux happened to the UFO?”
“I don’t know, I just sortof blanked out thinking about how whoever was fighting it was on our turf and stuff.” She replied to Shiv's question.
“H-H-How???” Shiver responded in a tone that befitted someone who was absolutely flabbergasted.
“Well, I don’t know to be fair.” Frye responded.
“Ay (Well Frye you should probably go see a doctor.)” Said the Man Big.
“Later.”
“Ay. (You said that last time, and that was 2 months ago.)”
“You asked me this question before?”
“Ay (Yes, I have. Many times.)”
“You two, shut it.” Shiver interjected to stop their burgeoning conversation.
“Fine, miss bossy pants.” Frye replied to Shiver’s interjection in a very annoyed tone.
“So, moving on from that.. comment” Shiver looked at Frye and if looks could splat, well Frye would be splatted. “You two wanna go down there? Check it out?”
“You do not need to ask me twice. I was gonna go down there anyway.” Frye replied as she was already trying to get down the crater with a rope that she somehow got.
“Ay! (Sure!) I don’t fucking need to tell you who said this, but it’s big man.
And then they used their ropes that they had for some reason and slid down into the crater, and then they looked down in the crater but Frye wanted to wear their masks because she thought it’d be funny, Big Man obliged, Shiver was less happy about it but, with Frye’s insistence to wear the masks she did.
