The Hogwarts hospital wing was calm, lit by the soft glow of magical lanterns.
Y/N, a Ravenclaw student, had volunteered to assist Madam Pomfrey, the school's matron, in tending to the various magical mishaps that occurred among the students. Tonight, she found herself organizing supplies as Madam Pomfrey prepared a potion for a student in the next bed.
Matteo Riddle, a charming Slytherin known for his cunning and sometimes reckless behavior, seemed to be a frequent visitor to the hospital wing lately. Tonight was no exception. The door creaked open, and Matteo sauntered in, an exaggerated limp in his step.
"Oh, look who we have here," Madam Pomfrey sighed, shaking her head. "Mr. Riddle, what have you gotten yourself into this time?"
Matteo grinned, his eyes locking onto Y/N as if he had orchestrated this visit just to see her. "Just a little friendly duel, Madam Pomfrey. Nothing I can't handle."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Friendly duel, my foot. What happened this time?"
Matteo chuckled, enjoying the banter. "Well, you see, I may have underestimated the power of a stunning spell. But, lucky for me, I knew I'd end up here with the best healer in Hogwarts."
Madam Pomfrey shot him a disapproving look. "Stop treating injuries like badges of honor, Mr. Riddle. Y/N, can you please assist him? He needs stitches."
Rolling her eyes, Y/N grabbed the necessary supplies and motioned for Matteo to sit on one of the beds. "You really need to be more careful, you know. This is the third time this month."
Matteo flashed her a charming smile. "Well, maybe I just enjoy your company, Y/N. Ever think about that?"
She couldn't help but laugh, despite herself, as she began to stitch up his wound. "I highly doubt getting stitches is the best way to spend time with someone."
Matteo winced, but his eyes never left her face. "You have a point, but it's worth it if I get to see you."
Madam Pomfrey huffed in the background, clearly annoyed by Matteo's antics. "Stop flirting and let her do her job, Mr. Riddle."
Y/N finished the stitches, tying off the thread with a flick of her wand. "There, good as new. But seriously, Matteo, try to avoid these situations. It's not healthy."
He grinned, leaning in closer. "If it means spending more time with you, I might consider it."
Rolling her eyes, Y/N stood up and returned the supplies. "You're impossible, Riddle."
As Matteo left the hospital wing with a sly grin, Y/N couldn't help but shake her head. Volunteering at the hospital wing had just become a little more entertaining, thanks to the Slytherin troublemaker and his not-so-subtle crush.
