If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.

Summary:

As Finney whispered "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever," into the nothingness that filled the basement, his words echoed through the haunting silence, a testament to a love that transcended even the boundaries of life and death.

Work Text:

Two souls, lost in the shadows of fear, found themselves entwined in a sinister tale. Finney, with eyes reflecting the depths of the unknown, mourned the absence of his "best friend" , Robin.

Robin's spirit lingered, a whisper in the wind, a presence felt in the darkness of the basement that enveloped Finney.

"This is the last call, Finn." were the last words Robin had said to Finney, before the latter had hung up the phone.

As Finney whispered, "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever," into the nothingness that filled the basement, his words echoed through the haunting silence, a testament to a love that transcended even the boundaries of life and death.

Robin, unbeknownst to Finney, caught wind of his words and responded with a smile tinged with sadness, despite the fact that Finney couldn't see him - and wouldn't be able, for many years to come.

*3 years later* [A/N i tried to come up with a paragraph that could join the 2 together but i couldnt 😭🙏🏻]

In the quiet of a warm summer evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Finney sat by the old oak tree in the park, his gaze fixed on the inscription on the bench beside him. "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever," the words etched deep into the wood, a poignant reminder of the love he once felt for his beloved Robin. It had been three years since Robin had been kidnapped and later on killed, leaving a void in Finney's heart that seemed impossible for anybody or anything else to fill.

As the breeze rustled the leaves above and surrounding him, memories flooded Finney's mind, each one a bittersweet reminder of the life they once had together. He remembered their laughter, their dreams, and the way Finney would hold on to, possibly even cuddle into Robin's side as they watched horror movies that were far too scary for Finney's liking . Robin's absence was a constant ache, but amidst the pain, there was a flicker of solace in the enduring love they had known.

In the years since Robin's passing, Finney had learned to navigate life on his own. He found strength in the memories they had created with eachother, drawing courage from the love that had once bound them so closely together. The bench beneath him held a sacred space in his heart, a place where he could sit and feel Robin's presence, as though his spirit lingered in the whisper of the wind and was with him as he sat on the bench.

As the sky darkened and the first stars appeared, Finney felt a sense of peace wash over him. The quote on the bench spoke volumes of the eternal bond they shared, a love that transcended time and space, a love that would endure long after they had parted ways.

With a soft smile playing on his lips, Finney whispered into the evening air, "If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever." It had become a routine. Whenever he had visited Robin's grave, or sat on the bench dedicated to him, or even just missed him, he would whisper that quote. And, even if it was just for a split second, he felt a gentle warmth wrap around him.

It was a reminder that love never truly dies - it may fade over time, but it will never die. Robin may have left this world, but his spirit lived on in the love they had shared, a love that would echo through eternity. And as the night embraced him, Finney knew that he would carry that love with him always, a beacon of light in the darkness of the world.
