Steph got off the plane and into the terminal in Hong Kong and looked around. She was supposed to be met by Cass there but she wasn't visible. Not unusual for Cass but annoying to Steph. She had flown halfway across the planet to spend some time with her girlfriend who seemed to have decided to be sneaky. Which was something Steph loved about her.
But not as much after so long stuck on a plane and fighting jet lag. This was supposed to be a break for her.
She grabbed her bags and checked her phone. No new messages were waiting for her. Which was even more annoying. The least Cass could do was let her know if she was running late, if that's what was happening.
"Hello," Cass said.
Steph jumped and stared. Cass was standing right next to her. Which either meant that Steph really was that tire. Or that Cass had learned a new trick.
Either was possible with her.
"Hello," Steph replied.
Cass tilted her head to the side.
"Do you need sleep?"
"Yes," Steph said. "But if there is something you wanted to do then it can wait."
"No, it can wait," Cass said. "Sleep is more important."
Cass grabbed Steph's bag right out of her hand and led her out of the airport. And off to the apartment she was staying in then. It was cozy and felt like the kind of place Cass would want to call home. It had all the little signs that it was her place that Steph hadn't seen in so many other places that Cass had stayed in for shorter times. Unlike those this place was truly hers.
She was led through the main room to what turned out to be the bedroom where her bag was set down. Before she could do anything more Cass was rifling through it and threw her toiletry bag at her. Steph took the hint and got ready to sleep.
Once back she was dragged silently into the bed. Where she got to fall asleep in her girlfriend's arms once again.
