Work Text:
“Is it really that fun to stay here with me? You have a way better place than mine. Why don't you stay over there?”
Hazel eyes turned to you. This conversation wasn’t new to the two of you, but you found that you were still self conscious about it. The male knew this, but wasn't deterred by your words. “Yet, if I recall, my place doesn’t have you now does it?”
You grumbled slouching into the couch further. “You can see me anytime… Isn’t your work further from me?”
“That may be so, but as I told you before I’m willing to make the commute. Distance is not a problem for someone like me.” Slipping off his glasses, he placed them onto the table along with the book he was reading. There was no point in continuing knowing that you were feeling down.
Rolling your eyes, you scoffed crossing your arms together. “I still don’t understand. You have all that space, but you choose to be cramped up in my dinky apartment.”
A sigh escaped his lips as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. “That's enough, there's more to it you know that.” His eyes bore into yours in concern. “Come sit with me darling.” Kento spoke softly, wanting nothing but to ease your worries.
“Nanami–”
“Kento.” You bit your lips. “I believe I told you before, we’re past this. You are allowed to call me by my name. How long have we been together?”
Shaking your head, you glanced down. He had a point, but something still nagged at you. It was telling you, it wasn't enough. “It’s… not that simple. It's just…”
Kento let out another sigh at your stubbornness. You felt the seat next to you dip and you glanced up to see that the blonde had moved to you instead; a frown placated on his face. He took your hands and kissed them softly, making you blush. “My place may be more spacious, but here I’m surrounded by everything that is you.” You blink as he leaned forward to place his head onto the crook of your neck causing you to stiffen. “I want to be here…”
“N..Na–” He grunted, giving your neck a lick as you squirmed. Your heart fluttered being this close to him once more. It still amazed you that he never grew weary of being with you. Despite your agreement, he made you feel special. “Kento…”
“The sound of your heart beating in this matter, pleases me greatly.” The blonde lightly chuckled, inhaling your delicious scent. There was no way he could ever leave you. Not when you were fitted just for him. He could feel the urges prick up inside him. He was overdue for his meal. “Please may I….”
You swallowed deeply, feeling his hot breath on your neck already knowing what he wanted. “...Just not too much okay…”
He grinned. “Of course. I don’t want to hurt you dear.”
You tried to relax yourself. It was easier that way. A small chirp escaped your lips as you felt his fangs sink into your neck as he indulged in your blood. His hazel eyes flashed red for a moment, recognizing your delectable taste.
Just perfect.
You had willingly agreed to have the man in front of you drink from you a few months ago despite it being a similar vein to being pricked by a needle. You hated needles. Seeing his pale state on the ground at a park you thought to call an ambulance, but once you got closer to him - his body sprang into action by instinct and you fainted at the amount of blood he drank from you.
At least you lived to tell the tale.
Kento had apologized profusely after you had woken up at his place, explaining that he had starved himself to the point of falling over. He never intended to harm anyone. It was no excuse, but he wanted to compensate you. In time, you accepted him into your life.
Now, the two of you almost always found yourselves in your apartment.
“Mmm…Kento…” You groaned feeling the energy being drained from you, your mind feeling light headed as you gripped onto his hands for support. It was surreal having this man drink your blood. Though true to his word he never drank more than necessary.
“Simply sweet as always…” Kento licked the incisions on your neck, closing them up easily, and pulled you close into his lap, your head against his chest. “Nothing else compares to being surrounded by your delicious scent and your beating heart.” He purred.
Kento rubbed circles on your back to help keep you grounded. Each time he sucked your blood it always made you feel loopy, but it got easier to maintain.
“Are you okay dear?” His hand rubbed your head, he knew to care for you dearly. “I didn't overdo it, did I?”
You nod dreamily, sighing as he continues his ministrations. “Fine… Just feel soft…mmm…”
The blonde chuckled. “Adorable…” The two of you stayed that way for a while. It was comforting knowing he could take care of you like this. “Do I really have to remind you how much I love being with you?”
“...Maybe…” You spoke quietly cozying up to him. “I just… need to be reminded every now and then…”
“Silly girl…” Kento squeezed you closer to feel your warmth and placed a small kiss on your head. “Lucky for you we have all the time in the world… I want to make sure you're safe and happy no matter what. You know you can always talk to me. I'm never leaving.”
“I know…”
A finger lifted your chin to face him. “Do you really or do I have to persuade you otherwise?” He leaned down to capture your lips in a kiss making you melt. “I'm here… I may be a vampire, but… I would never abandon my mate no matter what.”
You flushed at his declaration, he explained to you before how serious he was about you being the only one for him. Being a vampire's mate meant that he would live and die for you. “Kento…”
“I love you…”
He gripped your hands once more, his eyes filled with determination. Your eyes soften at his display.
“I'll tell you again and again. I love you. I'll do anything for you…”
“I know… I… love you too Kento… The place shouldn't matter, but…”
He kissed your lips once more to further cement his passion for you.
“Wherever you are, I'll always be there… Knowing that you'll always be by my side makes it all worth it.”
You smiled. “Thank you…”
“Always my love…”
