Chapter Text

I was In class ready for an upcoming science test. As the teacher handed out the tests I began writing my name and the date at the top of the page, confidently answering questions until I had finished. Being the first one finished I sat enjoying the silence until, the lockdown alarms started going off. The speakers made these annoying repetitive beeps followed by a woman saying “lockdown”. I never liked the alarms. I found them overwhelming and triggering. A few teachers knew this, but I still started to panic. Was it real? Was it a test? I didn’t know. The panic was really getting to me, then I heard a few gunshots in the distance. This was real...
Everyone shut the blinds and hid under desks or bookshelves. I hid in the lab coat cupboard, the teacher, Mr Hydrus had joined me. My breathing was fast like a jackhammer and my heart pounded heavily in my chest. I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me. I knew who it was, my teacher. “Relax dear. We’re safe here.” He spoke in a whisper his voice having it's normal british accent to it. I heard the classroom door open. The shooter had entered the room... I hear screams and gunshots. Tears rolled down my face those people were my friends. I felt the same arms holding me put a hand over my mouth. This was a life or death situation, one wrong move and I was dead. After a while I heard the door to the lab coat cupboard open. Me and Mr Hydrus were completely hidden behind the lab coats. The door shut and I heard footsteps leave.
I was hyperventilating and panicking. I stepped out of the closet, my eyes widening as I saw the dead bodies on the floor. Tears fell down my face as I spoke in a shaky voice. “T-they just.. Killed them.” I looked around the room, pools of blood everywhere and my fellow classmates dead on the floor. I felt a hand on my shoulder. “I know dear, don’t worry. I’ll call the police alright? You sit down and take some deep breaths.” He did his best to comfort me as he spoke. I took a seat at my desk. Having a drink of water trying to remain calm whilst Mr Hydrus quietly talked to the police.
Not long after the police arrived and arrested the shooter. The remaining “survivors” were sent home.
