Work Text:
INTRODUCTION
The Moreau Chronicles is a horror/mystery series centered around the 15-year-old Moreau triplets; Akihiko, Micheal and Thalia who are forced to move to another country after their mothers sudden death, and all the strange things that occur after!
Akihiko Moreau:
Akihiko (15) would be described by the people in Belleville as the perfect starting point for a serial killer and even worse by his newest neighbors in Castleton. However if you gave Akihiko the chance to describe himself, he’d label himself as an appropriately pessimistic person (with a strange fascination with all things morbid.) His hobbies include reading obscure books, keeping his siblings out of trouble, and over-analyzing crime movies.
Micheal Moreau:
Micheal (15) was always well liked by his peers, he embodies every trait expected of a leader with his charm, wit and overall eccentric personality. Of course his popularity usually doesn’t last after he inevitably blows a fuse. But he’s working on it. And after all, starting somewhere new can be a good thing, right? While Micheal radiates positive traits, he also tends to have a very fiery personality sewn into him; he’s known to get angry at small things and start fights (that he usually finishes, thank you.)
Thalia Moreau:
Thalia (15) is a bit of a fire cracker, while at first glance she exudes a calm and peaceful demeanor, she is an avid agent of chaos. Thalia has an incredible balance of being a mediator for every fight her brothers get in, and also being a fight instigator for her own amusement. Thalia also has incredible people skills, making friends immediately after being transferred to Castleton. Thalia is the odd one of the triplets, as she sometimes feels like the only one actually grieving her mother.
The Tremaine twins:
Victory and Victoria Tremaine (15) are the most well known kids at St. Matthew’s Prep. They are also the bane of everyone’s existence. The twins are conceited children who have been handed everything on a silver platter.
While they are known to be very similar to each other (in looks and personality) Victoria is a lot better at empathizing and making friends. While all Victor is known to do is make sarcastic comments and laugh at peoples suffering.
Octavia Pellerin:
Octavia Grace Pellerin (14) is the daughter of Principal Pellerin, she's a bit of a stereotypical goody-two shoes pastors daughter, and takes every word of the gospel to heart. She does however have a sense of anxiety about Leviticus, which she tries not to let out, just give her some time. Octavia is also the head of the Student Kindness and Leadership Board, which means she gets the pleasure of being the first to meet the incredibly annoying kids who arrive at St. Matthew’s Preparatory Academy.
Matthew Childers-Rice:
Matthew Rice (15) is a name unanimously hated by all teachers at St. Matthew’s. For the sole reason of the “Great fireworks incident of ‘94”. An incredibly dangerous stunt pulled by Matthew when he was only a first year. Matthew is a small-time pyromaniac who appreciates making memories, after all he's there for “A good time, not a long time.” Other traits Matthew possesses is being incredibly persuasive and being pretty damn funny. Matthew is so good at persuading people that he ended up becoming Akihiko's best friend by convincing Akihiko that the teachers will leave him alone if he hangs around Matthew. Matthew will also die at the end of the story (spoiler alert sorry)

Ok now moving on to the more secondary characters ^.^
THE ENLIGHTENED:
The Enlightened is a cult located in the wooded area of Castleton, England. They are a mysterious group with a front of being a World Peace group with religious tones led by three “prophets” who have never once shown their faces. The Enlightened is made up of settlers who live in a commune in which everyone is equal. Their ”mission” as their leaders continuously tell them; they are on an elite mission to bring eternal truth and acceptance. And they believe it.
THE PROPHETS/THE RAPTURES:
The Prophets are the mysterious leaders at the fore-front of the commune. They say that they themselves are in control of the emotions that are ruining the world; Anger, Sadness and Fear. It is unknown how long they have been the leaders, as they always change their story, not like anyone would ever question it though. The Prophets let people believe that their ideology answers all questions to all problems, and that without them, the enlightened people would crawl back to their former sinful selves. As ever-knowing Prophets, it's made clear that the Enlightened ones are not important enough to be remembered by name or anything else of that matter, no one means anything to them.
So why do they know so much about the triplets?
DREW HARKIN:
In short, no one really knows much about Drew. She kind of just appeared in Castleton a few years ago and is now regularly spotted hanging around the stranger parts of town. She seems to mostly be on her own. She ends up meeting Akihiko and tries to kill him. Quite a few times.
HANABI AND BENJIRO:
Believe it or not, the triplets are not the only Moreau children. Hanabi and Benjiro are the older siblings of the triplets and throughout the series, are seen investigating their mothers death while simultaneously searching for Akihiko, Micheal and Thalia. Not without arguing the entire time, however.
Hanabi:
Hanabi is the 22-year-old eldest Moreau sister who emancipated herself from her mother when she was only 17, Hanabi is extremely reserved and anxious about what people think about her (something she got from her mother.) and is constantly wondering whether or not she did the right thing running off to Portugal. After he mothers death, she baits her older half-brother, Ben, to help her get the triplets with the promise of leaving him alone for the rest of his life. (she lied, she's gonna try to manipulate him into staying.)
Benjiro:
Nothing too good to say about Benjiro, he's a 24-year-old musician with a failing dream of being something great, he hates just about everyone. Especially his step-mother.But he’s willing to help as long as Hanabi leaves him alone after. Who knows, maybe he can change.
EVELYN MOREAU:
The (dead) dead-beat mother of the Moreau siblings, Evelyn was once a movie star and singer whose life and career was ruined after she met the kids father, and proceeded to make it all of their problems. As she fell deeper and deeper into her addictions, she completely lost herself and her kids in the midst of it. Evelyns death kick-starts the entire series, so she only appears in drug/alcohol-induced hallucinations and flashbacks.
A running…gimmick? In the series is that every time she appears in a flashback, her hair switches between being dark red, black and brown; as her kids always made it a point to not look at her. Evelyn completely haunts the story's narrative, as every time something bad happens, her kids mention her.
Something strange about Evelyn is that a significant time before her death, she suddenly lost all interest in her drug and alcohol addiction; completely changing her demeanor for what looked like the better. It was not; she died a year and a half later.
That’s it for the characters! ^.^
