Bad hates flying.
He hates having to trust a complete stranger (who’s a professional) with his life as he’s taken 40,000 feet into the air.
He knows it’s honestly irrational and if it’s necessary, he can always shove his fears aside and jump on a plane for a few hours for conventions or meet-ups.
Keywords: a few hours.
When Skeppy suggested they take a trip to Japan together, he was instantly on board. He was extremely excited as he could enjoy the trip for the first time with his best friend.
Going to Japan had always been on his bucket list as he’s quite a fan of anime, so he was glad to cross it out.
They got a reservation for their hotel room, booked different tours and saved money to buy whatever they wanted during the trip.
However, it hadn't clicked in Bad’s mind what flying to Tokyo actually meant…
…Until now.
“Skeppy, what do you mean 14 hours?” Bad asked slowly with a yawn, “You’re memeing, right?”
It was 4 AM in the morning of their flight to Japan. They were waiting outside their shared home for their Uber to arrive.
They had woken up even earlier to get ready at this time.
Skeppy stood beside him, wearing a plain white sweater, ripped jeans and white sneakers. He had his carry-on backpack with his essentials and his suitcase with his clothes.
Bad himself was wearing his usual combo of a white shirt and a colored jacket, sweatpants and red sneakers. His long hair was held up by a baseball cap and he also had his own backpack and suitcase.
“Nope, it’ll be 2 hours from here to Minneapolis and 12 hours from there to Tokyo,” Skeppy replied as he looked at his phone.
Bad looked at his friend with a worried frown, “What? But that’s so… long…”
Skeppy sighed in response, “I know, but hey, at least it’s still a few hours until that actually happens.”
“I guess,” Bad replied, looking up as he heard a car approaching from the distance.
The both noticed a small car parking in front of their driveway and giving a quick honk.
“Uber’s here,” Skeppy stated as he grabbed his backpack, slid it on and began rolling his luggage towards the vehicle.
Bad followed behind with silent apprehension.
A man got out of the car and greeted them, opening the doors for them as he placed their luggage on the trunk.
Skeppy looked back at Bad and quietly asked, “Wanna go in the back with me?”
Bad nodded as his friend sat down on the backseat and scooted to the side for his friend.
Bad walked over and sat down, closing the door behind him.
They heard the trunk get closed shut and the man entering the driver’s seat, unbothered by the lack of co-pilot.
“Where to?” He asked, closing his door and preparing for a long drive.
“To the Orlando International Airport,” Skeppy replied, and the man nodded.
Soon, the car was off.
Bad looked out the window with his head resting on his hand, feeling the car’s movements lulling him into an even sleepier state than before.
He felt the car seat shift as there was new pressure next to him.
He turned to see Skeppy in a similar state than his, giving him a droopy smile.
Bad got a sudden idea. I mean, they were both tired, and they still had a while before arriving to the airport, so, “Can we-”
“Sure,” Skeppy replied, shuffling closer to him and resting his head on his shoulder.
Bad blinked in silent surprise for a second, before resting his own head on top of his best friend’s.
Skeppy could read his mind like that sometimes.
After a moment, Bad wrapped a lazy arm around him and pulled him a little closer.
With his sleepy needs handled, Bad closed his eyes and managed to doze off for some time.
Skeppy knew he wouldn't be able to fall asleep, so he decided to stare out the window, watching the street lights flicker as they moved.
It was quite a nice view in the very early morning.
—
“Bad? Bad, wake up,” Bad heard a familiar voice whisper as he was gently shaken awake.
“Huh?” He asked, opening his eyes to find the back of a car seat. He had to look down to see Skeppy.
“We’re almost there,” he replied quietly, moving back from his friend and stretching his arms.
“Oh, alright,” Bad replied, another yawn escaping him as his arm slipped off.
He looked out the window to see many other cars and people walking with their luggage.
Their car pulled up to the entrance of the airport and their Uber driver looked back at them.
“We’ve arrived,” the man stated, getting out of the car and opening the door for them.
Bad and Skeppy got out of the car and helped the man get their luggage out of the trunk.
“Thank you, sir,” Bad chimed as the two men slid on their backpacks and grabbed their suitcases.
“No problem,” the man politely replied back as he entered his car and drove away.
Skeppy pulled up his phone and tipped the man accordingly as they walked to the entrance.
“Ready, Bad?” Skeppy looked up and gave his friend a determined smile.
“As ready as I’ll ever be,” Bad replied with a nervous smile.
They got in line for their check in, scanned their passports and made their way inside.
“So, where do we check in our stuff?” Bad asked, looking at the many lines of people.
“Mmm,” Skeppy hummed as he checked his phone. He looked up, “Should be over there.”
He pointed to their right, so they began walking over there.
They found their line, which was shorter than the others since they had a special membership or something like that- Bad can’t remember.
He allowed Skeppy to plan about 90% of their trip so he wasn't that aware of little things like these.
Plus, he’s still tired- leave him alone.
Once they were up, they showed their tickets, weighed their luggage and their suitcases were sent off in a conveyor belt whilst they kept their backpacks.
They were allowed through some hallways that led them to the security system.
They placed their bags on the conveyor belt and they removed everything they had on them, from phones to keys to jewelry.
Bad had to (very sadly) take off the necklace Skeppy gave him and place it on the box they were using.
Skeppy suppressed a giggle as he saw Bad’s frown at taking it off.
They both passed through the metal detectors and soon got their stuff back.
“Skeppy, can you help me?” Bad asked, holding up the infamous necklace.
Skeppy rolled his eyes with a smile, “Really, Bad?”
“Yes,” he lied, allowing Skeppy to grab it as he got ahold of his hair. His friend clipped it on and let it go, grabbing his backpack.
“Thank you,” Bad beamed as he grabbed his own backpack and they began walking forwards to the area with all the gates.
They looked through the screens, found their flight and made their way towards their gate.
Turns out, their gate was pretty far away from them so they had to take an indoor subway to make it there.
When they arrived, they found 2 free seats and they sat down with a heavy sigh.
It was almost 6 AM at this point.
“Geppyyyyyyy,” Bad whined, “I’m so tiredddddd. Can we get coffeeeeee?”
Skeppy chuckled, “No, Bad. We’re about to board soon. We don't wanna be late.”
“But they always take foreverrrrr…” He continued, along with some angry-but-tired BadBoyHalo noises.
“It’s still better to be safe than sorry, right Bad?”
“Mmmmh, maybee,” he replied with a grumble. He tried not to think about the fact that he was gonna get on an airplane very soon.
They heard a voice call out from the speakers claiming that they were going to begin boarding at their gate soon.
Bad really tried not to think about it.
He saw people beginning to form a line at the gate.
He took a deep breath.
“Do you wanna go to the bathroom before we board, by the way?” Skeppy asked beside him as he stood up.
He shook his head, “I’m good, I went before we left the house.”
Skeppy nodded, “Okay, well I need to go, so take care of my stuff while I’m gone alright?”
Bad nodded as Skeppy walked off to the restrooms.
He pulled up his phone and opened Twitter to distract himself.
He heard the same voice state that the boarding had started.
He felt dread crawling into his stomach as he kept scrolling, hearing the line moving and tickets being scanned.
Calm down, Bad. It’ll only be for 2 hours, just 2 hours (for now).
Now that he was thinking about it, he realized this was the first time he’d be flying with Skeppy alongside him.
He hoped that would make him feel better about the situation. Having his best friend right next to him as he went through one of his least favorite experiences.
He’s sure he’d help.
He heard footsteps approaching, causing him to look up.
“I’m back,” Skeppy chimed as he grabbed his bag, “Let’s go.”
Bad nodded quietly, standing up and grabbing his bag.
They made their way towards the back of the line as they inched closer towards the gate.
As they kept moving, Bad felt his heart rate rise in fear. He clutched his arm with his hand for any form of comfort.
“Bad?” He heard Skeppy ask him with the nudge. They locked eyes and his friend instantly noticed his distress.
“We’re going to be fine, Bad,” Skeppy reassured, caressing his shoulder, “These people know what they’re doing.”
“I know, but-” Bad sighed, getting ahold of Skeppy’s hand. He held it gently, “It’s just… mostly my fear of heights.”
Skeppy smiled sympathetically, “Hey, it’s okay. Look, although we’re going to be up in the air, just remember that you’re very safe. If anything, nothing can harm you and you physically can’t fall, y’know?”
Bad nodded with a deep sigh. He felt a little better. “Thanks. You’re right, Geppy.”
Skeppy smirked back, “I always am.”
Bad could only roll his eyes with a smile.
After a couple of minutes, they made it in front of the line.
Skeppy pulled up his phone which had their digital tickets. The lady at the desk scanned them and allowed them inside.
Bad was practically being dragged into the jet bridge as Skeppy tugged him with their joined hands.
“C’mon, Bad,” he insisted, “The faster we get to our seats, the faster we get to fall asleep!”
Bad hummed. Skeppy did have a good point.
He began walking alongside his friend as they noticed the airplane’s front entrance getting closer to them.
Bad silently noticed some passengers touching the outside of the plane before entering.
He never really got why people did that.
Soon enough, they stepped inside the airplane and greeted the staff around them.
They moved through the slim hallway of the aircraft, Skeppy in front of Bad.
“What seats do we have?” Bad asked quietly, looking around the airplane. It was your usual plane with 6 rows of seats divided in 2 to form the hallway they were standing on.
They would have a stranger next to them.
“23E and 23F,” Skeppy replied, keeping track of the row numbers they were passing.
They had to stop a few times before walking enough to finally spot their seats.
A window seat and a middle seat.
Bad promptly remembered a deal he had done with Skeppy a couple of months ago.
If Skeppy got to have a window seat during this flight, then they’d be in the middle row of the 12 hour flight, as it had 3 rows of seats divided by 2 hallways.
Bad just wanted to stay away from the windows.
Unfortunately due to this deal, he was now stuck in a middle seat, the worst of all.
Not only is he in between 2 people, but he doesn't have easy access to the hallways and he’s closer to the window.
At least it’ll only be for 2 hours…
Bad brushed his thoughts aside as he noticed Skeppy shuffling into the small room in between seats and sat down on his designated seat.
Bad followed behind him and they both placed their backpacks on the ground in front of them.
People were still blocking the hallways as they placed their bags away and sat down.
It would take a while before the plane actually took off.
Skeppy had already started clicking on the screen in front of him, browsing the movies the airplane had to offer.
“Are you gonna watch something?” Bad inquired, looking over at his friend.
He noticed the view from Skeppy’s window. The right wing of the airplane, the ground below them and staff walking around.
The sun was already rising, leaving the taxiways looking quite pretty.
“Nah, but I wanna see what they have,” Skeppy answered. He was about to click another button when an announcement appeared on the screen.
A voice called, telling the passengers that they would begin taking off shortly.
Oh great…
People started moving a little faster from the announcement, less than half of them were left to sit down.
A woman they didn't recognize stopped at their row, placed her first carry-on bag in the overhead compartment and sat down next to them, keeping her purse on her lap.
She smiled politely at them, and they smiled back.
It seems they got lucky this time, who knows how it’ll be on their next flight.
With their spare time, the two men fastened their seatbelts and Bad fiddled with the AC system above them while Skeppy looked out the window.
Soon, the lines of people disappeared and staff began closing all the overhead compartment doors.
Bad felt his stomach drop when he felt the airplane move backwards.
“This is it,” Skeppy remarked, looking over at Bad.
“Yay…” Bad nervously mumbled back, grabbing onto the armrests of his seat.
One of the many things that Bad hates about flying is the takeoff.
Skeppy audibly sighed with a smile, “Bad, do you want me to hold your hand?”
“What?!” Bad exclaimed, turning to him, “I am an independent adult that doesn’t need such comfort practices like hand-holding.”
Skeppy shrugged, his smile still present, “Alright, if you say so.”
They both remained quiet for a second, Skeppy looking out the window while Bad looked away with his arms now crossed.
Skeppy started silently counting in his head.
A moment passed by.
“But- I mean, since you’re suggesting it-”
“I knew it!” Skeppy stated proudly, grabbing Bad’s hand and holding it tightly.
“Oh my g- Whatever!” He exclaimed back, looking away and grabbing at his hair with his other hand.
They heard a new announcement from the speakers and some staff standing up on the walkway with your usual airplane equipment.
The staff went over the usual procedures of explaining to them what to do in case of an accident, emergency landing, etc.
Bad noticed they were soon on the runway and the airplane stopped.
Here it comes…
“Ready?” Skeppy asked with excitement, “First flight of two to get to Japan!”
Skeppy moved their joined hands around in happiness, causing Bad to smile.
“Yeah! We’re finally doing it!”
“Finally…”
Suddenly, Bad felt it.
The sudden shift from 0 to 100 in their speed.
They’re taking off.
Bad grabbed onto his armrest and squeezed Skeppy’s hand tightly. He shut his eyes and nodded down his head.
“It’s okay, Bad,” Skeppy reassured in between the loud noises of their speed increasing and the rocky road pulling everything harshly around.
Bad felt Skeppy grabbing his hand with both his hands and pulling it to his chest, almost cradling it alongside part of his arm.
It helped in Bad’s opinion.
His stomach dropped when the airplane took off into the air. He squeezed Skeppy’s hands tighter.
It's almost over. It’s almost over.
After a few moments of nothing but ascending further into the sky, a voice called telling them that the bathrooms were open and they were free to take off their seatbelts.
Finally…
He gently opened his eyes.
“Oka-” Bad stopped himself when he saw Skeppy holding onto his hand and part of his arm tightly.
His eyes were closed and Bad’s hand was practically stuck in between his neck and chest as his face was looking down.
Huh, he wasn't really expecting to see that.
“Um- Geppy?” He asked gently, causing Skeppy to quickly look up at him.
“Oh- Uh- Did you feel any… better?” Skeppy inquired back awkwardly, letting go of his hand.
Bad grabbed onto it.
Wow- It got really warm…
“Uh- Yeah, it did. Thank you,” Bad sheepishly replied back, holding onto the armrests beside him.
They noticed the lights in the airplane dimming into a dark blue hue.
They could probably nap this out.
Skeppy took one last glance at the window beside him, before grabbing the shade and pulling it down shut.
He turned to his friend, “Tired?”
Bad nodded with a yawn, “Yup…”
Skeppy smiled, “Let’s sleep through this flight.” He grabbed onto the armrest that divided the two and pulled it back.
Bad frowned, pulling his hand away, “Geppy?”
His friend moved down to open his bag and grab an extra jacket he had brought just in case. He curled it up to form a makeshift pillow.
He got comfy at the edge of his seat, resting part of his body on the wall of the plane and placing the jacket behind his head.
Bad blinked.
“Uhh…”
Is he supposed to-
“Oh my god, Bad- yes, c’mere,” Skeppy opened his arms and pulled his friend towards him.
Bad ended up resting his head on Skeppy’s chest and wrapping his arms around him to be more comfortable.
Skeppy wrapped his own arms around him and placed warm hands on his back.
Bad blinked in silent surprise.
This felt… different to what he’s used to.
I guess you could say Bad was usually the big spoon when they cuddled.
Always pulling Skeppy close, wrapping his arm around him, letting him rest his head on his shoulder.
It was different, but not a bad type of different.
He liked being the little spoon for once.
“Okay…” Bad mumbled as he had nothing better to say, feeling his face warming up in embarrassment.
His brain would complain about cuddling in an airplane with many people around, but he seemed too happy with this outcome to protest.
Skeppy giggled at his response. It felt weirdly intimate to feel it coming from his chest.
“Oh Bad…” He replied back, getting ahold of his baseball cap, “Can I take this off?”
“Oh- Sure,” Bad answered, moving his head up. Skeppy pulled it off, letting his long, dark blond hair free.
“That’s better,” Skeppy muttered back, tossing the hat aside.
Suddenly, Bad felt Skeppy tangling his fingers on his strands of hair, softly massaging his skull as he played with his hair.
Bad stood still.
Oh. My. Goodness.
He knew he didn't let people touch his hair but- oh my gosh.
This felt so nice.
Bad’s eyes instantly closed shut, and he let out a delighted sigh.
Skeppy let out another chuckle.
Something about being so close to Skeppy like this just made him feel really nice.
He honestly loved it.
He tightened his hold on his best friend
Before he knew it, he had drifted off.
—
Bad felt his consciousness coming back to him when he felt everything around him shaking.
He instinctively woke up and looked around for danger.
Turns out there wasn’t much to look at.
He was still in the dimmed airplane, in Skeppy’s arms.
The only difference he noticed was Skeppy’s nose being buried in his noggin.
He decided he didn't mind it (Skeppy doesn't have any germs apparently, ever).
He heard an announcement from the speakers as more light came to the inside of the aircraft.
They’re landing soon.
With a sigh, he nudged Skeppy.
“Geppy, c’mon. We’re landing soon,” He mumbled, his voice coming out lower than he expected.
Skeppy shifted, seeming to want to stretch so Bad moved away, suppressing a shiver from the newfound coldness in the plane.
He also ignored the rising pain in his back for sleeping in an airplane.
“Mmm… Ghuh?” Skeppy sleepily mumbled, failing to stretch his arms, “Bad?”
“Yeah, it’s me,” Bad replied as his friend’s eyes drifted open and found his own.
“Oh, hi,” Skeppy greeted with a tired smile and a small wave, stretching his arms in the limited space.
“Hey, Geppy,” Bad greeted back with a fond smile, “We’re landing soon.”
Skeppy yawned before asking, “Already? What time is it?”
“Uhm,” Bad mumbled before pulling up his phone, “Holy muffin- It’s 9:30.”
“Wow, that went by fast…” Skeppy mumbled, before shifting to a properly sitting position.
“Yeah, guess we were really tired, huh?” Bad joked lightly, stretching to relieve his back pain.
Skeppy only hummed in agreement.
Bad grabbed onto his left armrest, mentally preparing himself for the landing.
Skeppy casually held onto his other hand as he pulled up the blind beside him.
Bad got a quick view of the city below them before he quickly looked away.
He could already feel the descending of the plane, which was less hectic than the take off.
Soon enough, their plane landed safely (but harshly) in the airport and slowly moved towards their gate.
Skeppy hesitated before pulling his hand away.
“That wasn't so bad, was it?” Skeppy inquired light-heartedly, looking at his friend.
Bad sighed, “I guess not… yet.”
“Oh come on, Bad!” Skeppy whined playfully, “You weren’t even awake for like, the whole time!”
“That doesn't matter, Sgeppy. It’s still being on an airplane.”
Skeppy rolled his eyes with a smile, “Whatever, dude.”
After a few minutes, the crew finally allowed them to get off the plane.
When their turn was up, they grabbed their backpacks and stood up from their seats, allowing the people in front of them to pass before moving themselves.
Bad (luckily) remembered to take his hat before they left, sliding it on with ease.
They walked through the jet bridge and onto the outside of their gate.
Both of them were glad to stretch their legs.
Bad looked over at Skeppy and asked with a curious look, “How long do we have until our next flight?”
“Hmm,” Skeppy replied as he pulled up his phone, “About an hour and a half. Now we definitely have time for that coffee.”
Bad beamed, “Oh, you’re right! I had completely forgotten about that.”
Skeppy smiled to himself in return.
He looked up, “Guess we should look for a coffee shop, then.”
Bad nodded and they soon began walking through the airport.
—
They weren't able to find a coffee shop. However, they did manage to stumble upon a Chick-fil-A, much to Skeppy’s delight.
“C’mon, Bad- We haven't eaten yet! Aren’t you hungry?” Skeppy exclaimed, pulling Bad towards the restaurant using his jacket’s sleeve.
Bad sighed, crossing his arms, “But I want to get my coffee first…”
“Bad,” Skeppy stopped dead in his tracks and pointed to the menu screen in front of them, “They literally serve coffee here.”
Bad grimaced, “I don't know if I want Chick-fil-A coffee.”
“Dude- Just- Shut up,” Skeppy grunted before getting in the line to order.
“Wait- Skeppy- I’m sorry!” Bad exclaimed back, following behind him.
They noticed a bit later than expected that they were only serving breakfast due to the early hour, which neither of them had ever tried but they decided to give it a try to see if it was good.
They ordered their meals (with their respective coffees) and they picked out a table for themselves.
Luckily, it had 4 chairs so they placed their bags on top of them, keeping them safe and off the floor.
Skeppy decided to wait closer to the counter whilst Bad took care of their stuff.
When Bad looked up from his phone, he saw Skeppy holding up two cups of coffee and carefully placing them down on their table.
“Where’s our food?” Bad inquired as Skeppy let them go.
“I’m getting there,” he passive-aggressively replied back, walking back to the counter.
Bad knew Skeppy wasn’t actually mad at him.
He saw his friend grabbing the paper bag and bringing it over to him, placing it down and pulling out its contents.
“Here,” Skeppy mumbled, handing Bad his hash browns and pulling out a chicken biscuit for himself.
Bad would’ve liked something else, but they were one of the only gluten-free items on the menu.
“Thank you,” Bad replied with a smile, opening the small box.
The two ate in a comfortable silence, sometimes saying random comments in favor of having a conversation.
Bad seemed to brighten up after he drank his coffee cup, and Skeppy was right behind him.
When they were done, they gathered all their trash and dumped it in a nearby bin, pulling on their bags to continue their walk.
“So, where’s our gate?” Bad asked softly, pulling up a small, plastic container with hand sanitizer gel inside.
“Huh, it’s actually close to the gate we came from,” Skeppy replied beside him, looking up at the airport’s screens and signs.
“Oh really? That’s lucky,” Bad commented as he cleaned his hands. When he was done, he pulled the container away.
They decided to walk around the area for a while, to stretch their legs before they got stuck in an airplane for 12 hours.
Bad felt dread crawling up his stomach by nearly thinking about it.
However, mindlessly walking around allowed his mind to wander off into different topics and discussions.
One he did not want to address was the growing need to… hug Skeppy?
Like, a soft, warm embrace between them.
Bad normally wouldn’t think twice before asking Skeppy for a hug, but now it seemed… different.
He just couldn’t get what had happened between them out of his mind.
Them cuddling so closely like that… it had never happened before.
And now he wanted more of it.
But for now, he was far too embarrassed to ask his friend for something as simple as a hug because of how much he wanted it.
He placed his hands on his pockets as he kept talking to Skeppy.
In any case, he had bigger problems to deal with right now, like surviving 12 hours in a plane with his acrophobia and his claustrophobia.
Unfortunately for him, time goes by faster when you want it to go slow, so OUT OF NOWHERE (in Bad’s eyes), it was already time for them to start boarding.
Bad audibly complained when he heard the announcement coming from the speakers.
“OH COME ON! Already??” He fumed dramatically to no one in particular.
Skeppy chuckled beside him, “Yes, Bad. Remember we have to board like, 40 minutes before take-off.”
Bad could only grumble in response.
He could already see the line of people forming at their gate.
This time, it was more people.
Bad grumbled some more.
“C’mon, Bad. Let’s just go,” Skeppy suggested, getting a hold of his arm with both hands.
Bad suddenly remembered what might be up ahead for him by feeling Skeppy's touch.
Potentially… more cuddling?
For... hours?
“...Fine,” he sighed, allowing Skeppy to pull him towards the end of the line.
As per usual, they waited in line, scanned their tickets, walked through the jet bridge and finally entered the plane.
Both of them noticed the considerable difference in size from their previous flight.
Now this one had 8 rows of seats, 2 rows pressed to the sides and the remaining 4 in the middle, creating 2 hallways this time.
Looking the other way caused them to stumble upon the more expensive seats, spacious with the ability to turn into a bed.
Must be nice.
Well, at least Bad can appreciate the extra space in general in this plane.
“What are our seats?” Bad asked as they politely smiled at the crew.
“36F and 36G,” Skeppy muttered back, and a crew member pointed to the further hallway and to the right.
“Oh- thank you,” he added before moving forwards and turning to his right, his friend not far behind him.
After a little bit of walking, they spotted their seats and moved in front of them.
The seats had an eye mask, a pillow, and a blanket, all wrapped up in plastic that calmed Bad’s germophobia.
Skeppy moved first to grab all the items and sit down, Bad following behind him.
Finally, the aisle seat he wanted.
As they got adjusted, they saw two teenage boys stopping at their row and sitting down on the seats beside them.
They had matching hoodies that had a weird logo of sorts.
They suddenly noticed more teenagers with the same hoodie, alongside two tired adults.
Maybe they’re going on a school field trip.
And unlucky for them, they got two rowdy teenagers that kept moving around and joking with each other.
Bad felt Skeppy moving closer to him to get away from the boys, who seemed to be disturbing his already tight space.
It made him feel nice.
But as he looked at the annoying teenagers, he silently begged that they would allow them to sleep.
For now, they fastened their seatbelts and looked around while they waited for everyone else to get settled.
From what Bad could guess, it was a semi-packed flight with a couple of free seats.
An announcement rang through the speakers, the usual “Takeoff will begin shortly” to get people to hurry up.
Soon enough, it was that time of the flight again.
Bad took a deep breath.
He can do this. He can do this.
“Wanna hold my ha-” Skeppy was cut off by Bad holding onto his hand tightly.
Skeppy smiled, “Thought so.”
—
“Geppy, I’m so bored…” Bad complained to his friend, mindlessly clicking buttons on the screen in front of him.
They were 2 hours into the flight, the amount of time both men were used to.
They had watched a movie on Skeppy’s laptop, but the two of them were becoming restless as they didn’t have anything else to do.
“I know, Bad,” Skeppy replied back with a sigh, perking up when he heard commotion coming from behind him.
“Do you hear that?” He asked, causing Bad to turn around and notice one of the staff with a cart.
“Yeah- we’re getting our food!” Bad exclaimed, turning back to him with a grin.
When the lady stopped at their row, she smiled politely and asked, “Would you like pasta or Japanese pork?”
Bad looked back at Skeppy and they shared a glance that practically told them their answer.
Bad turned back to the lady and responded, “We’ll take the pork, please.”
The lady nodded, handing them the small aluminum plates alongside some snacks as sides.
They thanked the lady and she moved past them to the next row.
They peeled the paper off the bowl to find the promised pork, alongside some vegetables and white rice with some sort of sauce.
They happily began eating away at their meal, wanting to start getting into the Japanese mindset for their trip.
It wasn’t the best thing in the world (since this was still an airplane) but it was pretty good in their opinion.
When they were done, they placed their trash away that a staff member was able to take from them.
After most passengers were done, the lights in the airplane dimmed down like the last flight.
Bad looked over at Skeppy.
He was already looking at him.
“Tired?” Bad asked quietly. He silently noticed one of the boys beside them get up and walk away.
“Nah, that coffee’s still getting me going. But I mean, I would like to rest my head somewhere…” Skeppy tailed off, hinting at him with a smile.
Bad rolled his eyes with a smile, pulling the armrest dividing them aside and pulling him close.
Skeppy giggled as he wrapped his arms around his friend and laid his head on his shoulder.
Both of them sighed happily.
“Do you just wanna… talk, for now?” Skeppy asked slowly.
“Sure…” Bad replied, letting one of his hands rest on his friend’s hair.
As they chatted about anything and everything, Bad noticed how the boy that had left had come back and urged his friend to follow him.
They grabbed their backpacks and walked away.
Huh, that’s weird.
He brushed it aside as he allowed his mind to think of other things.
He kept talking with Skeppy.
They discussed many things, like past lives, souls and life after death.
It felt appropriate in the dim lighting and their proximity.
It felt like an intimate moment between them and just for them.
“Well, if there is life after death or reincarnation, then I’d like to meet you all over again.”
Bad felt his heart flutter at that.
Still, he wanted to mess around with Skeppy a little.
"Oh, of course you do. I'd have to deal with your muffiny self for years until you calmed down, again."
Skeppy playfully but quietly complained, "Oh come on! It wasn't that bad. You just had anger issues."
"I do not have anger issues!" Bad whisper-yelled back, "Take that back!"
Skeppy grinned, "Nope."
Bad growled dramatically.
Suddenly, he got an idea.
"...Okay, fine! Then get away, I don't wanna be near you," Bad finished, pulling away from their cuddled position and pushing Skeppy firmly away.
"What?!- Bad- Wait- Stop!-" Skeppy exclaimed quietly, trying to move Bad's hands away while shuffling closer to him.
"Nope! I don't want you near me anymore. Go away!" Bad exclaimed back, pushing him even further.
Skeppy hummed angrily at him, deciding to put his tennis arms to good use.
He got all his strength, and pushed as hard as he could towards his friend.
Bad, unable to match his strength, ALMOST FELL BACKWARDS ONTO THE FLOOR.
"sKEPPY!-" He shrieked loudly as he grabbed onto his friend to prevent himself from falling.
He heard an agressive "SHH!!!" coming from another passenger, making him instantly aware of his voice levels.
"What the fudge is wrong with you???" Bad whispered angrily at Skeppy as he gave him a smug look.
"You deserved that," he replied casually, "Also, you're still holding onto me. Are you gonna let go? I mean, not that I'd mind if you didn't-"
Bad quickly noticed he was in fact, still holding onto Skeppy for dear life, making his face burn up in embarrassment.
"Oh my gosh-" He mumbled, pulling away instantly and turning away from him, "Whatever..."
Skeppy chuckled beside him, rolling his eyes with a smile.
A moment passed by and Bad still didn't look at him.
"Bad?" Skeppy asked quietly, "Did that actually make you upset?"
"Hmph," Bad hummed back, crossing his arms.
"Bad... Look, I'm sorry," he apologized quietly with his pleading voice, placing one of his hands on his shoulder, "Do you forgive me?"
There was a moment of silence before Bad turned around looking frustrated.
"Darn it, Skeppy! Why do you always make it so hard to stay mad at you?!"
Skeppy's initial surprise at his outburst shifted to a relaxed grin, "It's just my charm."
"Mmh... You have a good charm," Bad replied quietly, pulling the little muffin-head closer.
"I see we're doing apology cuddles now. Glad you forgive me," Skeppy stated back as they readjusted to their previous position.
A silent moment passed by.
“...I'd also like to meet you all over again if we got reincarnated, by the way,” Bad mumbled quietly, pulling him closer.
They couldn’t be happier.
There was silence in their conversation as they looked at nothing.
Skeppy looked to the side, “Huh, the kids that sat beside us aren't here anymore.”
Bad replied, “Yeah, they left some time ago.”
“I hadn’t noticed it before.”
“Yeah…”
Bad dramatically yawned and stretched as a way to communicate to Skeppy that he was tired.
Skeppy chuckled, “Okay, Bad. We can start napping.”
He grabbed the blanket he was given and began removing the clear plastic from it.
Bad followed behind him.
They grabbed their pillows and Skeppy moved towards the now-vacant seats, pulling all the armrests back.
Bad felt his stomach flutter.
Are they going to-
“Night, Bad,” Skeppy stated, moving to the other side, placing his pillow and draping the thin blanket over him, leaving them on opposite sides.
Bad blinked, disappointed.
What? Are they just… not going to- what?
Skeppy must’ve noticed how he was feeling, because he began to laugh quietly by himself.
“Bad- Bad- I’m kidding, I’m kidding. Get over here,” Skeppy demanded lightly, causing Bad to roll his eyes with a smile.
Skeppy pulled his blanket back and opened his arms for him.
Bad could only stare with a growing smile.
He moved and slowly lowered himself on top of his friend, his head landing on his chest nicely.
They wrapped their arms around each other and Skeppy placed his blanket over them.
Bad breathed, closing his eyes.
He felt Skeppy getting ahold of his hat.
“Bad?” He asked softly, rubbing gently his back.
Oh my goodness he could get used to this.
He just lifted his head and hummed in agreement, so Skeppy pulled it off and Bad went back to burying his face on his best friend’s chest.
Skeppy giggled in response, letting his fingers play with Bad’s dark blond hair.
Bad was right in heaven now.
He hugged Skeppy tighter.
They should really do this more often.
—
Bad felt something shift around him, causing him to wake up.
He was too tired to open his eyes, but he managed to feel a hand rubbing his back.
He thought adoringly.
His Geppy.
He cracked one of his eyes open and let out a soft hum.
“Oh- sorry, did I wake you up?” Skeppy whispered apologetically, “I was re-adjusting myself.”
Bad hummed before replying, “It’s okay. …What time is it?”
He noticed his mouth felt dry and that his back was hurting (again).
"4:23PM, in our time, at least," Skeppy replied quietly.
So, four hours they've been on the plane, it seems.
"Mkay," Bad mumbled sleepily, closing his eyes once again.
He would've liked to fall asleep again, but even his body was begging him to move around.
"Sgeppy? Is it okay if I sit up?"
"Yeah- of course," his friend replied dutifully, pulling his arms away and allowing him to get up. They both ended up sitting up next to each other.
"Oh my goodness, I need to stretch," Bad commented as he tried to extend his arms as far as he could.
Skeppy suddenly got an idea.
"We could walk. Like- on the aisles," he suggested, looking over at his friend for his thoughts.
"Huh, that's not a bad idea. I want some water first, though."
They waited patiently for the cart lady to show up again, which only took a few minutes they spent quietly talking to one another.
She asked politely, "Would you like anything?"
Bad nodded, "Some water, please."
She digged around the cart until she pulled out a water bottle.
After paying for it, he took off the lid and began taking large sips of water, satisfying his thirst.
As he pulled the water bottle away, he heard Skeppy ask beside him, "Can I have some?"
Bad thought about it for a second before replying, "Sure, here."
He handed his friend the bottle and he began drinking away at it.
Bad silently knew that he wouldn't mind sharing a water bottle with Skeppy.
With anyone else, he would freak out or refuse to drink from it again.
But with Skeppy (like always), it was different. He couldn't wrap his finger around why he felt so unbothered by it.
"Thanks," Skeppy mumbled, giving Bad his water bottle back.
"No problem," He quietly replied back, placing the plastic bottle on the side pocket of his backpack.
"Do you wanna walk now?" His best friend asked, "I really wanna stretch my legs."
"Yeah, let's go."
The two men stood up from their seats and quietly moved onto the hallway closest to them.
They knew they wouldn't be able to walk next to each other, so they silently agreed that Skeppy would go first and Bad would walk behind him.
The two started walking.
Bad noticed people watching movies on their TV screens, chatting quietly with each other and sleeping with their blankets.
It was quite a nice environment, in his opinion.
As they looped back around the other hallway, they noticed the two boys that had sat next to them.
Apparently, they had found two free seats close to the windows, so they were both getting entertained by the view.
They continued walking, looping back and around a few times.
That also caused them to notice how frequently the staff in charge of the food carts would pass around just in case.
They kept that in mind for the next time they needed something.
"Wanna sit back down?" Skeppy asked quietly, turning around to him.
"Sure..." Bad replied with a yawn.
The two of them stretched a final time before settling back into their seats.
They felt a lot better, to say the least.
They continued talking for a bit, until their sleepiness caught up to them again.
Can you blame them? The plane was still dark and they wanted to save their energy for when they landed in Japan.
"'Kay, Bad. Your turn."
"My turn? For what?"
"For you to be the big spoon."
"What?! We weren't spooning!"
"Not technically, but- still, your turn."
"Oh my goodness- Fine."
Bad rolled his eyes as he placed his pillow against the last recliner and laid down.
Skeppy placed himself on top of him and placed his blanket over the both of them.
"See? This is nice, right?"
"Mmh... yeah, it is."
—
The rest couple of hours were spent in the same cycle of cuddling, sleeping for a bit, waking up, walking for a bit, talking and repeating.
When two hours remained, they began increasing the lighting of the airplane to get people to wake up.
They checked their status and they saw the plane was getting very close to arriving (compared to the last 10 hours).
They were so close to getting to Japan.
The checked the time and noticed it was around 11 AM in Tokyo, which left them plenty of things to do for their first day.
As there was around 1 hour left before landing, the staff started giving them their breakfast.
They were given an egg & cheese calzone alongside more snacks.
Both Bad and Skeppy enjoyed having another meal after so long.
Soon enough, there was an announcement in the airplane asking them to wear their seatbelts as they were landing soon.
They eagerly clicked them on.
"Oh my God we're finally landing!" Skeppy exclaimed happily, "We're about to be in TOKYO!!"
"I KNOW! Oh my goodness I can't wait!"
They tigthly held hands as the plane landed on the runway and began moving towards the gates.
The airplane stopped moving, and after some time, they were finally allowed to get off.
They waited their turn until they were allowed to get off.
They grabbed their backpacks, slid them on and began walking towards the plane's exit.
"Oh my God we're actually here..." Skeppy commented as they got on the jet bridge.
It had windows so they got to see the bright day that was ahead of them.
As Skeppy pulled up his camera to record, Bad silently thought about how amazing this vlog was going to be.
"YOO HOW'S IT GOING GUYS! TODAY I AM IN TOKYO WITH BADBOYHALO!"
