Work Text:

Jisung found himself looking out the window of the office, his eyes taking in the city as well as seeing people rushing down the streets.

Always in a hurry.

He looks at his watch and sees that it’s barely 2:30 pm. He frowns and wonders what Chan in doing right now, maybe on the last hours of the trip.

He had just taken a break from the morning meetings and was planning on meeting Chan at the bus stop as soon as the clock hit 6:00pm. It was the one condition he gave to Chan, after the latter declined the offer of accompanying Chan to the train station.

He's always been apprehensive of Chan being out on his own. It was just something he couldn’t help but wonder how the latter had survived on his own.

Chan is not a child, he can take care of himself. Jisung knows this. Jisung also knows Chan is somewhat naïve, in a sense that he seems to befriend anyone he meets. Chan always thinks and believes that people are good in general – even that ex of his. Jisung grits his teeth just thinking about Chan’s past.

Chan tends to keep things bottled up. Tries to be independent and it makes Jisung feel more endeared to him. Perhaps, because Jisung is a couple years younger that Chan feels like he is the one that needs shielding versus himself.

And perhaps it’s because Jisung didn’t have those parents that coddled him. Quite the contrary and basically threw him to society and he did everything that got him to this point in his career. He’s his own boss, running a trading company thriving in the city. He doesn’t worry about not having anything to eat, where he would sleep every day. He made a name for himself.

Chan, on the other hand, seemed to have been raised by caring parents – well, caring enough, he scoffs at how they missed all the signs that he saw upon getting to know him.

Chan is a loving person. He gives and gives unconditionally. He is basically a martyr where his friends are concerned, yet has little to self awareness of people with bad intentions. Jisung is skeptical of people on his best day.

Well, undoubtedly, Chan may seem naïve, but he has one of the most loyal person as his best friend, it seems. Jisung gets along with them well enough, the times he’s met him, he’s been scrutinized, eyes suspicious and full of doubt the first time they met.

Minho Lee, dancer extraordinaire – Chan is always gushing about him. Sometimes Jisung finds himself pretending that it’s not a big deal – another person holding Chan’s attention, he can read Chan very well and he trusts him.

And while Minho finds the littlest things that make Jisung bristle, Jisung begrudgingly admits he really cares for Chan.

It's a talent. Minho had said, mischief clearly shining in his eyes directed at Jisung, the moment Chan left to get some drinks – one of the occasions that Chan couldn’t make it to their lunch date due to the lab incident that delayed their project.

Chan apologized more than once, promising to make time and that he could postpone to a less busier day. Jisung proposed meeting by the university – though Chan protested and spouting about not wanting to waste his working hours.

Jisung reassured him it was fine.

He didn’t expect Minho to be there, pinching Chan’s cheeks and cooing at him, making Chan’s ears bright red. He walked in straight to their table.

“Hello, Chan-ssi” he said, earning a beaming smile from Chan and a bored look from Minho.

“You really came” Chan said, hurriedly clearing the area to make space on the table itself. Books closed and pens and paper stacked to the side.

“Oh, Minho dropped by as I was waiting for you, do you mind if he waits for his next class with us?” Chan asks, eyes wide and lips tilted to a tentative smile.

It certainly wasn’t the first time, and to be honest, it probably won’t be the last, considering Minho’s personality. Jisung assured Chan everything was fine.

Jisung hummed, crossing his arms, leaning back onto he chair and following Chan’s form, the latter getting a bump and pushed aside by another male. Chan apologizing and allowing that person to cut in line.

He could feel his eye twitch at the disrespect, he uncrossed his arms and was about to get up before he felt fingers wrap around his wrist.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

Jisung looked at his hand and then back at Minho’s face, a raised brow.

Minho released his wrist and then jerked his chin towards Chan. Jisung looked back and then saw Chan looking at them, a small smile on his lips.

“Do you think Chan is defenseless?” Minho asks, after winking at Chan. Chan laughs into his hand and jerks when they call him next to order.

Jisung doesn’t respond right away, merely taking in the surroundings. The Café is small yet close enough to the university Chan is attending.

He looks back at Minho, the latter giving him an amused smile.

“I bet that if you could, you’d put him in a bubble so nothing hurts him” Minho snorted.

Jisung curled his lip an annoyance, “I’m not a psycho to lock someone anywhere” he said, once again crossing his arms over his chest.

“Hmm, being in love makes people do stupid things,” Minho says, earning a side glance from Jisung.

He’s never denied his affection, he just tends to be more aware of his surroundings, but when he’s with Chan alone, he gives his undivided attention. Chan likes to display his love and affection for the world to see, he thinks, as he focuses back to the streets. He raises a brow when he takes in the sudden presence of Chan. He furrows his brows as he looks at his watch, it wasn’t even three yet.

He blinks when he sees Chan pick up pace and rush down the street, sees him smile wide only to bump into a stranger –  to Jisung, that is. Chan knows a lot of people.

It's another man, slightly taller than Chan, that embraces him as they get close and Chan stands still, not returning the gesture.

Seeing him in the club was sobering. He had been sitting in a VIP booth with a client, a celebration of the contract – the client had said.

They had been there for a couple of hours, a cute waitress named Sana was tending to them. Jisung had acknowledged the change in staff as her shift was over.

He'd been surprised by the male taking over. He was wearing black long sleeve button up shirt, with blue accents and black slacks that were form fitting. His hair down making him look youthful and the make up that seemed to accentuate his features – eyes big and bright, the minimum of blue and red mixed as eyeshadow, lips full and slightly glossy.

‘Chan’ he introduced himself as their new server, a smile wide and the dimples that showed sealed the deal.

Jisung could see the male’s hand lingering on Chan’s arm, whom seemed oblivious about the consistent touching. He hummed as he noticed how easily the male slip his hand down to Chan’s elbow, to his low back.

Maybe Jisung was just overthinking, but he believes that he can read Chan’s body language very well, and he can definitely see a light tension on the line of his shoulders.

He pulled out his phone and pulled up his contact info. He stared at the picture on his wallpaper, the dimpled smile and glittering eyes staring up at him.

He dialed and waited for it to ring as he looked out the window once more, seeing as Chan excused himself and picked up the phone.

“Hello?” Chan’s voice is melodious as it is soothing.

“Chan-ssi, where are you?” he asks, staring at how the male seemed to get closer, earning a tilt of the head from Chan.

“Oh, Jisung! I’m here, well… I bumped into a friend, but I’ll be making my way up there soon” Chan says, a nervous laugh echoing.

“Hmm, were you not to call me?”

Chan pauses, excuses himself from the presence of the male and turns.

“Um… sorry, I forgot. We actually ended up leaving earlier due to a scheduling conflict the hotel had. I didn’t want to bother you this early, so Minho dropped me off.” Chan says, as Jisung sees him look back and notice the male was still there.

Maybe he needs to do something about it. He turns  away from the window and is making his way out his office and towards the elevator.

“I see, are you downstairs?” he asks, fixing his tie and lightly running his fingers over his still combed hair.

“Um… kind of?” Chan says, a small laugh echoing through the ear piece. Jisung huffs as he waits for the elevator to ding open.

“Hmm, then let’s go eat, I just finished the meetings I had scheduled this afternoon.” Jisung says, exiting the elevator and making his way through the lobby.

“Oh, um, okay? How did everything go?” Chan asked. Always curious.

Jisung opens the glass door and makes his way to cross the small street, locating Chan instantly.

“Chan-ssi” Jisung says, earning a jump from him, as Chan turns around with a sheepish expression.

“Oh…hi” Chan says, lowering his phone, ears red and eyes darting to the male by him.

“Let’s go, yeah?” Jisung says, pointedly ignoring the other male.

Chan nods, then pauses as he looks back to the male he was talking to earlier. Jisung follows his stare – a raised brow as he takes in the disheveled appearance of said male.

“Oh, um, Jisung, this is an old classmate” Chan says, taking a step closer to Jisung, tense.

“Don’t be shy, Channie. We used to date back in high-school, right Bang Channie?”

Jisung could feel Chan press closer to him. He instinctively reached out and cupped his chin. Chan stared at him, eyes wide – if Jisung didn’t know any better, he wouldn’t have noticed the almost pleading glow in his eyes.

“Oh, well, Chan-ssi, did you still need him here?” Jisung asks him, the male opens his mouth before he receives a response from him.

“I was just telling him we can catch up, we should go –“

Jisung looks back at him briefly, and he can’t help the growl that spills from his lips before he speaks. He looks at Chan again.

“I asked Chan-ssi the question” Jisung says, eyes never leaving Chan’s again. Chan, for his part bit his lip and glanced to the male, he shook his head.

“Well, there you go.” Jisung says, curling his arm around Chan’s waist and squeezing his waist gently.

“Chan-ssi, come, I want to show you something” Jisung says in lieu of ignoring the other male.

“Okay, um…” Chan looks back at the male, an almost apologetic tone, “it was interesting seeing you again” Chan said, earning a squeeze of reassurance at the waist from Jisung.

“Yeah, whatever” the male said, eying them before he huffed and turned around to walk away.

Chan was fairly quiet. He fidgeted with his fingers, stealing glances at Jisung. He seemed tensed and Jisung disliked that entirely.

“Did you have fun at the exhibition?” Jisung asks, stealing a glance at his watch, noticing that it was already 3 o’clock. He focused back on Chan.

Instantly, Chan lit up. He looked over at Jisung with wide bright eyes.

“Oh my gosh!” he starts. Clasping hands together as he seems to vibrate with emotion, “you have to see the pictures I got!”

Jisung listens intently, leading Chan to his favorite restaurant.

Astronomy.

Chan loves astronomy as much as he loves Australia, the country he grew up as a child.

On the first meeting they had, after Jisung had extended his invitation to him, Chan finally contacted him a couple weeks out – they met at the Café by his university, Chan explained that he was still on his last year of university and would soon be graduating with a degree in Astrophysics.

“I’ve been working at the club since I started university. It was the fastest way to save money as well as paying college expenses and the apartment” Chan explained as they he walked Chan back to his shared apartment, a small 2 bedroom, 1 bath that he shared with his schoolmate, Changbin. Jisung wondered how safe and sanitary the area was. He didn’t say anything to Chan, but wondered how opposed he was to maybe moving to a nicer place.

Jisung reeled in his need to provide Chan with a new living space. He just met him and yet he wanted to give him everything.

Jisung enjoyed eating food. He enjoyed it even more when he was with Chan. Chan enjoys food to its fullest. He gets excited about food, specially of food he really loves.

He stares at Chan as the latter picks up pieces of sashimi. His eyes glittering as he took the first bite and then closing his eyes as he savored the food.

He can’t help but extend his hand to lightly touch Chan’s hand that was resting on the table by one of the plates. Chan paused, looking at Jisung’s hand before looking up and curiously staring at Jisung.

“Are you free for the rest of the week?” Jisung asks, not removing his hand, but rather, gently picking Chan’s hand up to curl his fingers around the latter’s. Chan squeezed his hand, lowering his chopsticks as he nodded.

“Great! I have a surprise for you” Jisung said, his fingers letting go as if to pull away, but Chan tightened his hold and held on. Jisung didn’t try again and kept their hands like that.

As if satisfied, Chan finally removed his stare from their hands and gave Jisung one of his cute smiles.

Chan looked up at the sky with a pout.

“Back in Australia, you can see a lot of the stars,…well I guess if you were to go out of the city here you’d be able to see more, away from light pollution.” Chan had said wistfully.

Jisung hummed and listened to Chan as he points here and there the exact location of stars. Quietly making their way into the building, to the hallway of Chan’s apartment.

“Maybe one day I can show you” Chan said, tucking strands of hair that seemed stubborn enough to stay, eyes staring almost apprehensively at Jisung. Back turned to the door.

“I’d like that, Chan-ssi” Jisung said, reaching to tuck the strands back, earning red ears and a bite of the lip.

As if to say something, Chan cleared his throat only to have the door open abruptly behind him.

“Oh! Sorry!” The male yelped as he slammed the door close. Chan winced at the loud slam.

“Uh, that was Changbin…um well, thank you for the invite, Jisung-ssi. I’ll see you around?” Chan asked, a tentative smile with eyes hopeful.

Jisung stared at him, taking in the lightest of freckles that became noticeable with how bright the florescent light is. The plush lips and rosy cheeks, eyes full of life.

He reached over and lightly thumbed over Chan’s rosy cheek.

“I’d like that, Chan-ssi” he said, a small smile on his lips.

“Oh… okay. Wait, really” Chan asked, wide eyed. Jisung was slightly amused, but curious of his reaction, surely Chan isn’t insinuating that he’s not attractive in both his physicality and personality.

He tucked that thought in the back of his head for further exploration at a later date.

“Yes, Chan-ssi” he says directly, cupping his face and staring into his eyes. Chan’s eyes darted to his lips and back to his eyes.

“okay” Chan said softly, a small smile stretching his lips as his cheek gave way to a dimple.

“I’ll message you” Jisung says, pulling away, “Have a good night, Chan-ssi” he said, turning away to go back home.

“Um…” he felt a tug on his jacket, as he turned, he saw fingers lightly holding on. He looked back at him and turned around, walking a bit closer.

“Goodnight, Jisung-ssi” Chan said, surprising Jisung as he leaned over and pressed a light kiss on the corner of his mouth as Jisung had slightly moved. Chan pulled away immediately, eyes wide and ears bright.

“Uh, have a safe trip home” Chan said, cupping his own face as if hiding his red cheeks. Jisung was amused. He wished him good night once more.

Jisung canceled the last meeting for that day by sending a message to his secretary. In fact, he had her re-schedule the meetings until after that weekend.

He looked over at Chan as the latter waited for him. He had stepped away momentarily to make a call and send the message. He made his way back to him and Chan perked up almost immediately.

“Do you think it’ll be too complicated if I dropped by the apartment and change? Hmm, maybe I also need to drop by the grocery store – I promised Changbin I’d buy his favorite ice cream, ah, but I checked last and they didn’t have it in stock…”

Chan rambled on, tilting his head as he thought of things he needed to do. Jisung hummed as he took his hand, absent-mindedly, Chan held onto his hand as he mumbled about his list of things to do.

“Hmm, we have time” Jisung says. He’ll make time for him. Whatever Chan needed to do, Jisung is able to create a space for him.

Chan looked at him and gave him a small smile, eyes darting here and there as he seemed to assess Jisung.

“Will your meeting be delayed?” Chan ask.

Jisung shook his head, “No. Don’t worry about it, Chan-ssi, my schedule is all clear for the rest of the week.”

Chan blinked a couple of times before he furrowed his brow, then curiously squeezed Jisung’s hand when the latter looked at his watch.

“Hmm?”

“Jisung-ah, are you sure I’m not taking up your time? You have been busy the past couple of days, I feel like you’re being too nice and wasting your time with me” Chan said, momentarily avoiding his eyes.

Jisung furrowed his brows, wondering if he’s given Chan that notion.

He curled his fingers around Chan’s. Chan paused, stopping on his tracks.

“I mean it, Jisung-ah.” Chan said, a small pout on his lips.

Jisung shook his head at the silly thought.

“Being with you is never a waste of my time, Chan-ssi. It never will.” Jisung said firmly, “now come, There’s something I wanted to show you” he said as he lightly tugged Chan forward. They were heading back to the building to have Jisung call his driver.

“Hmm, you’re persistent I’ll give you that” Minho said to him. It was another time where Minho seemed to magically appear at the time of his meet up with Chan.

Jisung gave him a withering glance. Begrudgingly, he can kind of understand Chan’s delight when he’s with Minho. The latter while usually teasing Chan, he takes care of him and is fiercely protective of Chan.

Chan often says that Minho brings him small snacks and meals when he forgets to eat as he often loses track of time when he gets busy with reports and working on his thesis.

“Don’t you have something else to do?” Jisung asks instead, earning a grin from the latter.

“I do! But being here and getting under your skin makes my day!” Minho says, making Jisung narrow his eyes annoyingly, before he huffs and shakes his head. He was about to respond when suddenly Chan comes through the door.

Everything disappears as he takes in Chan’s presence. He stares at him – his slightly disheveled clothes; shoulder peeking out of the baby blue open button top, washed dark denim jeans and clearly worn out tennis shoes. He looks beautiful.

To be fair, Jisung thinks Chan looks beautiful with anything.

“Disgusting” Minho says, a snort following.

Jisung ignores him as Chan walks closer and gives Jisung a smile after he darted his eyes between Jisung and Minho.

“Oh, Minho-ah, I didn’t know you were here since you didn’t answered my call” Chan says, taking a seat by Jisung, tugging his chair closer. Jisung sees Minho furrow his brow and then reaching for his phone.

“Chan-ssi, I ordered your drink. Did you want anything else?” Jisung asked earning a beaming smile.

Chan shook his head, “Minho-ssi gave me food earlier, the drink is just fine” Chan said, fiddling with the napkin close to him.

“I have to go now” Minho announced, picking up his bag and making his way around, he reached over to lightly touch Chan’s shoulder, catching his attention, “Sorry, Channie, I forgot that my phone goes on silent mode 10 minutes prior to my class starting time.” He explains.

Chan shakes his head with a small smile, “it’s okay” he says, Jisung studies his expression. He looks over to Minho, the latter showing a hint of guilt.

“Well, I’ll leave you guys to it. No funny business, you hear” Minho says, pointing a finger at Jisung, earning a roll of the eyes.

“Oh my gosh, bye Minho-ssi” Chan says, cheeks earning a pink flush over his cheeks, making  Minho laugh as he makes his way out of the Café.

They drive to the supermarket close to Chan’s apartment, buying basic groceries and miscellaneous things – along with Changbin’s favorite ice cream.

Jisung walks in assisting Chan to carry some bags, to which Chan protested and insisted he was fine, but gave in eventually.

It felt domestic.

Changbin greeted them from the sofa, eyes going wide when Chan called for him to the kitchen. Jisung stood by the counter, taking in the delighted expression on Chan’s face as he presented Changbin’s ice cream.

“You’re the best, hyung” Changbin said, giving Chan a side hug before snatching the ice cream and running back to the sofa.

Jisung can kind of understand it now. Seeing people become happy, delighted even at an act of service – well it’s new to him, but seeing Chan happy makes Jisung feel accomplished, more than his achievements have.

“I’ll go get changed real quick…um, do you mind waiting… well… Ah maybe –”

“I’ll wait” Jisung says.

“Okay, okay. I promise I’ll be quick”

“I’m not in a hurry. My schedule is cleared” Jisung reminds Chan. Chan smiles at him gratefully and then walks closer, touching Jisung’s hand.

“Okay, but Jisung-ah, you’ll tell me if you can’t wait or if you’re too busy, yeah?” Chan asked, eyes searching.

Jisung wants to call him silly for thinking that Jisung would prefer to be elsewhere.

“Of course” he responds, earning a hand squeeze. Chan stares for a minute longer before letting go and announcing to Changbin he’ll be using the shower.

Chan looked at his drink, then at Jisung.

“Do you want a different drink?” Jisung asks, wondering if he ordered wrong. He’s been with Chan when he ordered it the first time.

“No! Um…no I like this drink actually” Chan says, ears red as he looked around and saw people looking at him from his momentary outburst.

“Hmm, you have this expression. Is something bothering you?” he asks, reaching over to dab his thumb over the top of his cheek.

Chan hesitates, looks briefly at the chair Minho was sitting at and then looks at Jisung.

“It’s dumb” Chan says, lightly shaking his head, looking away.

“Tell me.” Jisung says as he opens his hand and cups Chan’s face, making him look at him.

Chan bites his lip and takes a deep breath.

“I don’t know… when I walked in, you and Minho seemed to be having a good time… it seemed as if I was interrupting something…” Chan mumbles, slightly pulling away. Jisung blinked as he took in the words.

He just recalls Minho being a pain.

“Minho-ya doesn’t really like talking to people a lot, but he said you were fun to talk to. He likes you, you know. He thinks you’re funny”

Jisung huffs.

“Chan-ssi,” Jisung says, “I almost feel offended” Jisung says, making Chan’s eyes widened.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to, I just –”

“I’m not interested in anyone else. Just you.” Jisung says, making eye contact with Chan. The latter blinks slowly, mouth slightly open and hand gripping the paper napkin.

“Never seen a man fold to pieces so quickly” Changbin says in lieu of a greeting as Jisung follows behind Chan to the living room.

“Never seen someone scarf down the pint of ice cream in less than 20 minutes, yet here we are” Jisung responds as he takes a seat at the questionable stained sofa.

Changbin guffaws.

“You’re so whipped man! But! I can’t even blame you.” Changbin says laughing as he shakes his head.

Jisung takes in the décor – or the lack thereof. This is his third time visiting the apartment. A lot of the time Chan avoids bringing him here – though Jisung has told him he didn’t mind.

“Your place is so much nicer, I feel almost embarrassed” Chan had said, averting his eyes as if ashamed.

“Channie-hyung is a great person. He’s such a sweet person and I would suggest if you are not that serious about this as he is, that you are better off leaving him alone” Changbin says after a moment, his playful demeanor suddenly serious as he stares at Jisung.

Jisung looks back at him, raising a brow.

“You’re this fancy CEO that suddenly popped out of nowhere, asking Chan on dates and giving him gifts and taking him to expensive places. Do you think you can buy him?” Changbin asks, more curious than accusing.

Jisung narrows his eyes, annoyance bubbling.

“Do you think so low of him?” he asks instead.

“You. He isn’t a plaything you can buy.”

He did feel offended at that accusation, but thinks that maybe Minho isn’t the only person watching over Chan.

“You and Minho are made for each other” Jisung says in lieu of an actual answer. It’s not like he has to prove himself to them. Chan is all that matters, but Chan does care for them, he thinks.

“Ha! So you’ve had to deal with him?” Changbin laughs, delighted.

Jisung feels kind of offended.

“You have my sympathies” Changbin says, a shake of his head before he grins wide at Jisung, “Well, seeing as you have passed the Minho trials, I think you’ll be fine” Changbin said, a pitying look given to Jisung.

He opened his mouth to say something and then paused when Chan came out of the bathroom, fully dressed and hair slightly damped. Jisung had the urge to dry his hair.

“Channie, come, I’ll dry your hair. You always leave it damped” Changbin says, motioning Chan over. The latter as if embarrassed, shuffles over and sits by him. Changbin moves up the top of the sofa as he takes the towel and begins drying his hair. Jisung feels a bit jealous at that, he admits to himself.

After the Café, Jisung invited Chan over to his place. Suggesting that he could pick up Chan after his class, to which Chan actually smiled toothily as he explained that his professor canceled the class earlier that morning. And so, Jisung found himself opening the door of his condo on the top floor.

Chan hesitated at the entrance, looking at everything. Jisung turned to look at him, patiently waiting.

Chan finally walked in, taking his shoes off and using the slippers Jisung set for him.

“I’ve always wondered how these places look on the interior.” Chan said, eyes darting around the area, but not moving past the threshold.

“Do you want the tour?” Jisung asks, extending his hand.

Chan looked at him then at his hand before taking it and agreeing.

“Yes, please” he says, polite as always.

“Jisung-ah,” Chan started, then paused. He looked around again, after the small tour – Chan’s eyes wide as he walked into the spare room and saw a piano as well as a guitar.

Hobbies Jisung has recently picked up, though having a busy schedule sometimes prevents him from it.

Chan was more mesmerizing as he went out to the balcony. Eyes wide as he took in the expanse of the city. He looked back at Jisung.

“Are you able to see the stars from this high up?”  Chan asked, looking back outside. Jisung confessed that he hadn’t thought of sitting out and try to see the stars.

Chan gave him an almost sad smile.

“Look” Chan said, making Jisung walk over to stand by the railing of the balcony. Chan pointing at the brightest star. Jisung saw them glitter in the slightly darker sky.

After watching the stars for a minute too long that had Chan shivering slightly at the coolness, Jisung brought him inside. They sat on the loveseat for a moment until Chan spoke.

“I like you, Jisung-ah. I really like you. Even before you brought me here.” Chan paused, fiddling with his thumbs.

Jisung grasped his hand with one and the other tilted Chan’s chin with his forefinger.

Chan seemed hesitant as he averted his eyes, but then looked back.

“I’m not going out with you because you have money or – ”

“Chan-ssi, can I kiss you?” Jisung asks, because he can’t just call Chan silly. Of course he knows. He’s known that.

Chan blinked and nodded slowly.

Jisung caressed his cheek as he tugged him closer. Chan went pliant and as Jisung leaned in, he closed his eyes. Jisung couldn’t help but stare at the long lashes that rested on rosy cheeks, skin soft and smooth. The slight eyeshadow and plush lips.

“Gorgeous” he said as he leaned in and pressed his lips to Chan’s. Chan let out a breath and Jisung took the chance to press deeper and ask for permission with his tongue. Chan let out a small whimper and opened up.

Sweet.

Jisung could taste the mango sweetness on Chan’s tongue. Like a starving man offered water, he took in everything he could. Chan’s soft sighs, Chan’s taste, his mouth hot and wet and tasting sweet.

Chan had reached to grip Jisung’s shirt. Jisung curled his hand behind Chan’s nape, holding him closer. Chan whimpered when Jisung slid his other hand around his waist. As if following him, Chan slid closer, one of his legs sliding over Jisung’s, until he straddled him.

Jisung groaned when Chan settled above him. His hands automatically curling protectively around Chan’s waist.

Chan gasped when Jisung’s hand slip to rest at his thigh, thumb caressing gently, pulling away momentarily. Jisung stared up at him, seeing the flushed cheeks, eyes dilated, lips red and slicked with their combined saliva.

Jisung couldn’t help but squeeze Chan’s hip, raising one hand to dive his fingers into Chan’s hair. Chan stared at him, almost dazed before he smiled. He leaned down and pressed a sweet kiss to Jisung’s lips.

“I know, Chan-ssi. I’ve always known” he finally says when he pulled away, caressing Chan’s jaw.

Chan nodded and leaned down to kiss him again.

After Chan got ready, Jisung bid Changbin goodbye earning a salute and a pointed stare.

“Channie, make sure to keep your phone on!” Changbin yells, just as Chan is closing the door. As if embarrassed, Chan gave Jisung an apologetic smile.

“Sometimes, he acts over protective” Chan explains, then pauses, “he didn’t say anything or threatened you, did he?” Chan asks then, eyes wide and apprehensive.

“Hmm, no Chan-ssi, it’s completely okay. I understand his reasoning.” Jisung said, taking a hold of Chan’s hand and leading him to the car again.

“Come, I still have to show you something” he says.

It was silly, he thinks, as he looks down to see Chan resting his head on his chest. His brown hair curly and soft as it looks.

The rising sun creating an almost like halo around him.

He wanted to keep Chan here with him. Keep him forever. He felt Chan stir and paused his caress on his hair.

Chan hummed and did a full body stretch, causing Jisung to smile as Chan moved about. Then he paused as he took in his surroundings.

He looks at Jisung with sleepy eyes and then a smile breaks through, “good morning” he says, leaning up and pressing his warm lips to Jisung’s jaw.

“Did you sleep well?” Jisung asks, wondering if he managed to clean him properly, before carrying him to the bathroom for a quick shower.

Chan had been whiny as Jisung cleaned him up, sensitive to touch as Jisung cleaned him out and lathered soap over his whole body.

He'd been extra sensitive on his thighs and chest.

Chan hummed, nuzzling Jisung’s jaw.

“Want to order breakfast in?” Jisung asks, his hand reaching over for his phone. Chan folds his arms over Jisung’s chest and looks at him. Jisung finds him cute and gorgeous at the same time.

Hair tousled. Lips pink and swollen, bitten. Eyes bright with a hint of sleep.

“I can make breakfast” Chan offers, rising and straddling Jisung’s waist. Jisung drops his phone to prioritize holding Chan.

Chan was only wearing an oversized shirt Jisung keeps a pile of. The covers fall off and he takes in the pale skin of Chan’s thighs displayed as the shirt rises in his position. He zeroes in on the bruises of his hands from the night before.

Chan gasps and stares at him, his body unconsciously moving.

They don’t leave the bed for the rest of the morning after a few rounds. Chan spent and curled against his chest.

Chan had promised to keep his eyes closed after Jisung asked him if he trusted him to take him somewhere.

No questions asked, Chan followed his instructions. He was glad Chan trusted him that much, but at the same time, he wondered if he displayed this kind of trust to everyone. More for Chan’s safety than anything else.

He reached over and held his hand as he spoke.

“Chan-ssi” he begins, earning a tilt of his head, Jisung glanced over at the driver, he smiles as he asks him he can open his eyes for now “don’t be so trusting of just anyone” he says.

Chan blinks at the request. Jisung can’t help but be fond.

“It’s silly of me to ask this and yet ask you to trust me” he admits.

Chan looks at him and gives him a knowing stare and a small smile full of fondness.

“I’m not naïve, Jisung-ah.” He says, squeezing his hand in return, “Minho and Changbin trust you and they’re never wrong. Even then, I trust you a lot. I don’t give myself to just anyone and I don’t have anything worth taking” Chan says. Jisung frowns at that.

“You on the other hand are risking more than I’ll ever have” Chan says.

He reaches to pull Chan closer, cupping his face and staring into his eyes, “Chan-ssi, you’ll always be more valuable than monetary means. Don’t ever forget that when you’re with me, yeah?” Jisung declares, making Chan blink a couple of times and Jisung realizes he was blinking tears away. He nods then and leans over to kiss him.

They spent the rest of the ride with Chan’s eyes closed, head resting on Jisung’s shoulder as they held hands.

Maybe Chan even dozed off, Jisung thinks, an amused smile on his lips. He must have been tired from all the school projects and reports.

“Look! It’s starting!” Chan says, eyes wide, pointing at the sky. It’s really dark out here. In an isolated land. Purchased by Jisung as of last week when he did a research of areas and properties. He knows once he finishes his project, there will be protesting and probably denial.

Jisung glanced at the sky and briefly saw it.

A meteor.

Jisung loves seeing Chan’s face displaying happiness and wonder, rather than seeing the dead star falling. He won’t say that to Chan, the star is dead and that’s why its falling, of course.

“Isn’t it amazing?! So mesmerizing and beautiful” Chan says wistfully.

“Yes” Jisung says, not removing his eyes from Chan.

“I wish I could see it every year. It’s always hard to find good places that don’t get too crowded with people” Chan says, a toothy smile turned to Jisung.

“Thank you for bringing me here” Chan says, reaching over to hold Jisung’s hand.

“We can come here again” Jisung says.

“I’d like that” Chan says, looking at him with a small smile and then leaning in to kiss him.

“The Perseid meteor shower. I missed it last year because I got sick” Chan murmured, nuzzling close to Jisung’s jaw.

Jisung hummed, gently combing fingers through Chan’s sweaty hair. He frowned when he felt how hot Chan was. His fever not getting worse but not getting better yet.

“I want to see it” Chan mumbled, yawning wide as he gripped the bedsheet. Jisung was blaming himself for this. If he hadn’t gotten caught in that blasted dinner, he wouldn’t have left Chan to get wet on that rain.

“Sorry, Chan-ssi. I’ll take care of you. Just sleep for now yeah? I promise that you will see it this time” Jisung said, pressing his lips to Chan’s temple.

“I want to see it together with you” Chan whispered, body slowly relaxing fully as he dozed off – the medication finally kicking in. Jisung curled his arms tighter around his torso, holding him close.

“Anything you want, Channie” Jisung whispers into his ear and Chan sighs as he falls deeper to sleep.
