Notes:

I'm back with more soulmates! WOOOO! Soulmates are so fun!

This is for Princess_of_the_Fandoms, with the prompt "When you meet your soulmate you see colors for the first time AU (can be platonic or not)" Had a ton of fun writing this, hope ya'll enjoy!

No warnings for this fic, except for canon typical swearing, and mentions of the foster system, but nothing specific.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Everyone is born colour blind.

People will go through most of their childhood only being able to see black, white, and every shade of grey you can think of.

Only when you meet your soulmate do colours start to become visible.

Tommy wonders what that’s like.

He hasn’t found his soulmate yet.

Which, preposterous, because Tommy is the manliest man ever, and yet the world is still grey around him.

He can already hear his brother sigh in exasperation. “Being a ‘manly man’ doesn’t determine when you find your soulmate,” he would say.

To that, Tommy would say, shut up, Technoblade.

Techno doesn’t get to talk. He got lucky and found his soulmate, Niki, when the two of them were in middle school, and they’re still friends well into adulthood. Meanwhile, Tommy’s just graduated and he still hasn’t found his!

Although, his parents are soulmates, and they met in college, so…

He’s just impatient, ok?

Tommy sighs as he stares out of the car window, watching the monochrome world go by.

His family had just moved into the city last week, and now they’re all packed in the car again to take a look around.

Honestly it sounded pretty boring, but Phil had insisted on it, so here he is.

Speaking of.

“You’re very quiet there, Tommy,” his dad says with a smile, peering at him through the rearview mirror from his place in the driver’s seat.

Tommy sits up. “Sorry. Just… thinking.”

“That’s dangerous,” Techno drawls beside him, not even looking up from the book in his hands.

Tommy rounds on him. “Fuck you!” he shouts indignantly. “I am capable of having thoughts, Tech-no-The-Blade, and I’ll let you know they are very manly thoughts!”

Kristin laughs. “And do these ‘manly thoughts’ perhaps involve the topic of soulmates?” she asks with a knowing look.

Tommy splutters. “W-Well, no, um-”

“You hit the nail on the head,” Techno quips, turning a page.

“Shut the fuck up.”

“These things take time, mate,” Phil says in the same tone he always puts on whenever soulmates are brought up. “You just gotta be patient.”

“I have been patient,” Tommy huffs, turning to face out the car window again. “I just want to meet them.”

“You will, Toms,” Kristen says kindly. “You will when the time is right.”

Yeah, but when will that be?   Tommy wants to ask. These conversations always go the same, so Tommy stays quiet.

They stop at a traffic light. It’s pretty busy at this time of day, so there are plenty of cars, and a lot of people walking along the streets. Once the cars stop, a crowd of people start to cross the road.

As Tommy stares up at the traffic lights, silently wondering what the different shades of grey mean, his vision changes.

Colour floods Tommy’s vision so suddenly that he can’t help but gasp. Except it’s just one colour in different shades, like how he would imagine grass, trees, and Phil’s hat to look like.

Techno seems to notice his sudden surprise, as he looks at him curiously. “What’s wrong?”

Tommy looks at his surroundings with wide, mesmerised eyes. “Everything looks like a forest,” he whispers.

Phil and Kristen look back at him with surprise and excitement. “Green?” Phil asks. “Is that what you’re seeing?”

“I think so,” Tommy says. “But that’s all I see. It looks weird.”

“Your soulmate could be nearby!” Kristen cheers. “Quick, look out the windows, see if you can spot them!”

“Can we pull over?” Techno asks.

“Bit hard with this traffic, mate,” Phil says with a frown. “Hopefully the light stays red long enough.”

Tommy peeks out of the windows, heart thundering in excitement as he looks at all the green-tinted cars and city streets on either side.

His soulmate is nearby!

But where are they?

The crowd of people crossing the road slowly dwindle.

The vibrant green filling his vision slowly fades away, leaving behind the monochrome scenery Tommy is accustomed to.

Tommy’s heart slowly sinks. “No, no, no!” he whines. “Why is it fading?”

Phil, Kristen, and Techno silently look between themselves before turning their gaze to the youngest.

Tommy looks to his parents, despair filling him. “What did I do wrong?” he asks quietly.

His family looks at him in varying degrees of sympathy and sadness. Kristen leans towards him to place a comforting hand on his knee. “I’m sorry, Tommy.”

“You didn’t do anything wrong, mate,” Phil says.

“There’ll be another time, I’m sure,” Techno adds.

The traffic light turns green. Not that Tommy can see it.

As the black and white city streets blur around him, Tommy wonders if a next time will ever come.

Tubbo had been minding his own business when his vision suddenly changed from a dull grey to a vibrant red.

Well, he thinks it’s red, anyway. Not like he’s ever seen it before, but this is what he imagines the colour of anger and passion to look like, the colour that is used for apples and firetrucks and the traffic lights above him.

Right now that’s all everything is. Just different shades of red, like he’s looking through rose tinted glasses.

And Tubbo has to stop to process his surroundings, just barely keeping himself from being swept away with the crowd.

The colour of his surroundings have changed, and that could mean only one thing.

He’s about to meet his soulmate.

Tubbo eagerly scans the crowds, hoping to catch sight of his potential soulmate.

To be honest he’s not quite sure how this works. In school he learned that once you meet your soulmate you’ll be able to see colours, but how does that work? How do you know you’ve found them?

Everything looks the fucking same.

The busy streets certainly aren’t helping. People keep bumping into him, and he has no choice but to follow the crowd.

If there were less people perhaps this would be a lot easier.

But you don’t get that in the city.

Tubbo crosses the road along with the bustling crowd, and just hopes he’ll bump into his soulmate.

But, alas, that doesn’t happen.

Once he’s crossed the road and the crowd begins to disperse, the red starts to fade.

“No, no!” Tubbo curses under his breath.

How did he lose them? He was so close!

This stupid goddamn crowd!

Day officially ruined, Tubbo continues down the street.

He has a job to get to, anyway.

Ranboo has never given much thought to the whole soulmates thing.

There are more important things for them to focus on, like survival.

Especially now. Ranboo has just aged out of the foster system, and safe to say, they are most definitely screwed.

What little money he was able to save up definitely isn’t enough to last him more than a week, not even mentioning affording a place to stay.

Man, I hate the system, Ranboo thinks to themselves, not for the first time and certainly not the last. The moment they turn eighteen, and they’re kicked out on the streets to fend for themselves.

Ranboo had spent the better part of the day wandering the city, just trying to figure out what to do. All they had was the clothes on their back and a backpack with what few belongings they had. It’s getting late now, the white sun starting to sink behind the horizon.

Looks like they’ll be sleeping on the streets tonight.

Ranboo finds a secluded alleyway where they (hopefully) won’t be disturbed. It’s alright. There are some discarded cardboard boxes that can serve as some sort of makeshift bed so they don’t have to sleep on the hard concrete. Plus it’s late spring, just about summer, so it shouldn’t be too cold tonight.

This will do, they guess.

But as Ranboo is setting up their stuff for the night, it happens.

A burst of colour fills their vision, so suddenly they go staggering backwards.

What did this mean? All his life Ranboo has only ever been able to see things in monochrome, and suddenly everything is tinted with life?

It’s odd though. Only a single colour fills his vision (aren’t there more?) It’s a cool colour, the same colour he’s sure covers the leaves on trees.

What was it called… green?

Ranboo peeks out of the alley to investigate the possible cause of this. There aren’t many people around, so Ranboo easily spots him.

A boy stands a few feet away. He’s shorter than them, with dark hair, a long sleeved shirt, and bright eyes that stare at them in wonder and surprise.

Ranboo’s sure they stare back in much the same way.

Because once they lay eyes on each other, and a rainbow of colours merges together, still some greys peeking out but brighter than before, everything clicks.

Oh. They found their soulmate.

It’s happening again!

Tubbo had been on his way home from work when his vision once again burst with colour, a sure sign that his soulmate was nearby.

Except it’s a different colour than it was this morning. Similar to red, but cooler. When people described royalty, and the alliums that would grow in the fields, this is what they used.

Purple.

But why did the colour change? Why is it different?

Someone appears from inside an alleyway a few metres away. An older boy, about a foot taller with short, fluffy hair. They look around curiously, and once their eyes land on Tubbo the purple filter fades away, replaced by a world that is just a little more colourful than before.

Tubbo’s heart flutters in excitement.

His soulmate! He’s found his soulmate!

(But then what was with the red before?)

The boy seems to realise this at the same time as him, because they look down at Tubbo with surprise and awe. “Oh,” they breathe, blinking owlishly. “Hi.”

“Hello,” Tubbo replies, just as softly. He doesn’t want to break the quiet atmosphere. He finds himself stammering, which is unlike him. “So, uhm… we’re…?”

“Soulmates?” the boy finishes. “Yeah, I think so.” They let out a small nervous laugh, seeming almost shy. “Honestly, this was the last thing I thought would happen.”

Tubbo chuckles. “You and me both, boss man.” Feeling bold, Tubbo takes a step forward, holding his hand out for the boy to shake. “I’m Tubbo,” he says with a cheery smile. He tilts his head inquisitively. “And you?”

The boy blinks at the outstretched hand for a moment before a smile appears on his face. “Ranboo,” he says, grasping Tubbo’s hand with his own and giving it a firm shake.

Ranboo.

Y’know what, it suits them.

“Nice to meet you, Ranboo!” he says with a smile, letting go of the other’s hand.

“Nice to meet you too.”

The two are silent for a few moments, both unsure of what to say.

Oh god, this is so awkward.

They both laugh.

“What do we do now?” Tubbo asks in between chuckles.

“I don’t know, man, I wasn’t prepared for this,” Ranboo laughs.

There is no guidebook on what to do once you’ve met your soulmate, unfortunately.

Once the laughter dies down, Tubbo turns to watch the setting sun, Ranboo following suit. Now they’re both able to see colour, it’s nice to see their surroundings in a new perspective.

Except, the world isn’t as colourful as Tubbo thought it would be. There’s colour there, sure, but everything still looks… dull.

What a massive disappointment.

“You know,” Ranboo says. “I would’ve thought being able to see colour would be more, y’know, colourful.”

Tubbo nods in agreement. “I feel cheated,” he says with mock sadness.

Ranboo laughs.

It’s a nice laugh.

They sit in comfortable silence for a few moments, before Tubbo turns to Ranboo, a question on his tongue.

“So, Boo,” he says, the nickname slipping out easily. “How old are you?”

If Ranboo notices the use of the nickname, they don’t mention it. “Oh, um, eighteen?” they answer.

Tubbo perks up. “Oh sweet! We’re the same age then!”

“Oh really? Cool.”

Tubbo jumps to his next question with an excited smile. “Where do you live?” he asks, then backtracks when he realises how that sounds. “Oh wait, that sounds weird.” He laughs, Ranboo giggling along with him. “Wait wait, what I mean is, I’ve lived here my whole life and I’ve never seen you before.” Tubbo shrugs. “But then again, this is a big city.”

Ranboo takes a moment to think about the question, seemingly becoming nervous. “Um, I guess you could say I’m new here?” they say, fidgeting with their hands.

“Oh cool! Did you just move here or something?” Tubbo asks.

Ranboo pauses with an anxious frown. “...Or something.”

Now it’s Tubbo’s turn to frown, this one in confusion. “What do you mean?”

Ranboo is silent for a few moments before they seem to make up their mind about something. They sigh in defeat, shoulders sagging as they step to the side, gesturing to the alleyway beside them. The alley they appeared from. “Home sweet home!” Ranboo says, voice laced with nervous sarcasm.

There are some flattened cardboard boxes with a worn backpack beside it. Tubbo’s expression turns to one of concern.

“You’re homeless?”

Ranboo seems almost ashamed as they hang their head, gaze trained to the side. “You see, um, I actually used to be a foster kid, um… Never got adopted, so…” They’re silent for a moment. “I-I aged out of the system just recently, actually, and um, yeah! Got kicked out.” Ranboo chuckles wryly. “I’m making the most of it.”

Tubbo is silent as he processes this information. He honestly feels sorry for Ranboo. That would be a shitty situation for anyone to be in. Plus, Tubbo had been in the foster system himself, so this hits a little close to home, though admittedly he wasn't there nearly as long as Ranboo seems to have been. Tubbo was fortunate enough to be adopted by his aunt after only a few months of being in the system, and he was able to move out at seventeen.

“I’m sorry, man,” Tubbo says sincerely.

Ranboo shrugs indifferently. “Not like you can do anything about it,” they say.

Actually… “Well,” Tubbo starts, an idea forming. “Do you want to stay at my place?”

Ranboo looks startled at the offer. “What?”

“You wanna come to my place?” Tubbo repeats. “I have the space.”

Because Tubbo just can’t leave them to fend for themselves. That would just be immoral.

Plus, they’re his soulmate. He feels like he owes it to them.

But Ranboo looks uncertain. “Are you sure?” he asks. “I won’t be intruding or anything?”

“Of course not!” Tubbo assures. “You can stay for as long you need.”

“And you’re not doing this just for pity points or something?”

Tubbo rolls his eyes light heartedly. “Ranboo, I gain absolutely nothing from this,” he says, then sheepishly, hopefully, adds, “Except, maybe, a new friend?”

Ranboo gives him a timid smile.

“Are you sure I won’t be intruding?”

“Look, how about this,” Tubbo says. “If it makes you more comfortable, in exchange for letting you stay at my apartment, we can ask each other questions to get to know each other.”

“That just doesn’t seem like a fair trade-”

“I will not take no for an answer!”

With a resigned sigh, Ranboo agrees. He gathers his belongings (which is just the backpack) and follows Tubbo down the street, making sure to tell him how grateful he is.

“You really didn’t have to do this, Tubbo-”

“I know, I know, you’ve said this a billion times, now shut up-”

Ranboo really is quite fortunate to have met Tubbo.

When they both arrived at Tubbo’s apartment, they asked each other a ton of questions to get to know each other. Their likes, dislikes, hobbies, that sort of thing. Turns out they both like Minecraft. Tubbo showed them his dj set, which Ranboo thought was super cool, and Ranboo showed Tubbo the short stories they write in their notebook. Tubbo said they’re a really good writer.

They then started talking about different colours, now that they’re able to see them (to a certain extent). Ranboo told Tubbo how they saw green right before they met, which turns out to be the other boy’s favourite colour! Tubbo saw purple, which is Ranboo’s favourite.

Funny how that works.

“I also saw red, this morning,” Tubbo had said, his face scrunching up in confusion for a moment. “It was basically the same as when I saw purple before I met you, except the red faded away after a few minutes. It was weird.”

Ranboo had tilted their head to the side in thought. “Huh. What do you think it meant?”

“No idea. But I guess it doesn’t matter now.”

The conversation moved on, and by the next day the topic was forgotten.

It’s mid morning right now, and Ranboo is walking down the sunny street. Tubbo had to go to work, so that left Ranboo with nothing to do. They decided to go for a walk to get a feel for their surroundings, and to possibly scout out a potential job.

Tubbo was kind enough to give Ranboo a spare phone he had since Ranboo didn’t have his own. (“Can’t remember why I kept it, but it seems to come in handy now.”) The first thing Ranboo did was put in Tubbo’s contact, and the address to his apartment (Ranboo doesn’t want to forget and get lost after all).

Ranboo is walking down a street lined with houses, enjoying the desaturated scenery when something unexpected happens.

His vision turns red.

Ranboo stops in place to adjust. They blink, but the red tint stays.

What?

Wait, didn’t Tubbo say-?

A few houses away, a door opens, and two people step out.

“Are you sure, Tommy?”

“Yes, Techno. I at least know my colours enough to know that this is a completely different colour than what I saw yesterday!”

There’s a man in his early twenties, if they were to guess, and a teenager probably around the same age as Ranboo. The man is tall with long, light coloured hair (is it pink? It’s hard to tell when all they can see is red-) and dark eyes, and the teenager is a little shorter than the other, with short (possibly) blond hair. The teenager seems to be arguing with the older man, his back turned to Ranboo.

Ranboo finds himself slowly approaching the two (well, he’s walking in that direction anyway). The man notices him first, regarding him with careful curiosity.

“Can we help you?” he asks.

Ranboo freezes, not expecting to be addressed. They feel very much like a deer in headlights. “Uh…”

The teenager turns around to look at them.

And…

Ranboo lets out a small gasp as the red fades and blends into their surroundings, clinging to the boy’s red and white shirt. His blond hair seems to shine with the bright, golden sun, and his eyes, as blue as the clear sky above, stare at Ranboo with excitement and wonder.

This is…

“Oh my god,” the boy murmurs.

Ranboo stares in shock.

They have a second soulmate?!

This... This is amazing!

“Oh my god!” the boy says again, an excited smile splitting across his face. “You’re my soulmate!”

Ranboo smiles in turn, albeit more shyly. Though they pretty much share the excitement. “Hello,” they say, giving a small wave.

The blond bounds up to Ranboo, the taller startling for a moment. “This is amazing!” the boy rambles. “Oh my fucking god I’ve been waiting my whole life for this! I’m Tommy! And over there is my kinda cool brother Techno!”

Ranboo laughs at the boy’s- Tommy’s enthusiasm. “I’m Ranboo,” they greet with a smile.

“Ranboob.”

Ranboo makes a face. “Please don’t call me that.”

“I’m calling you Ranboob from now on,” Tommy declares, looking quite pleased with himself.

Ranboo sighs, accepting his fate.

“You’re so fucking tall, by the way,” Tommy says.

Ranboo pauses. “Um, thank you?”

“That wasn’t a compliment, bitch! How fucking dare you! No one’s allowed to be taller than me!”

Ranboo looks at Techno, who is watching the scene play out (he does have pink hair!) “Your brother is taller than you,” Ranboo points out.

Tommy pauses. Turns around to look at Techno, then back to Ranboo again. “Yeah, well, he gets a pass,” Tommy states. “Cuz he’s The Blade.”

Ranboo’s at a loss. “Oh- Ok,” he says.

Is this what every interaction with Tommy is going to be like?

...They can’t say they mind too much.

Tommy may seem annoying, but Ranboo can see that he has a cheery disposition with a smile as bright as the sun. They’re sure the two will become fast friends.

They wonder if Tommy would get along with Tubbo.

Ranboo suddenly remembers the red filter covering their vision minutes before, and how Tubbo had the same experience. And Ranboo’s surroundings, previously full of muted, desaturated colours, are now bright and colourful. They have an idea. “Hey, Tommy?”

“Yeah, Ranboob?”

Ranboo ignores the misuse of their name. “Um, before we met just now, what colour did you see?”

“Uh, purple,” Tommy says with an inquisitive tilt of his head. “Why?”

Just like Tubbo. Ranboo’s heart flutters. “Um, ok, so-”

“Ooo wait!” Tommy interrupts excitedly. “What colour did you see?”

Ranboo blinks. “Uh, I saw red.”

“Poggers!”

Ranboo snorts. Poggers? “Anyways, uh, this probably sounds weird, but uh, yesterday. Did you happen to have a similar experience? Except it was a different colour?”

Tommy squints at Ranboo. “I mean, yeah I did, but-”

“Was it green?” Ranboo mentally crosses their fingers.

They know they’ve guessed right when Tommy’s eyes widen minutely. “How did you know?” he asks, surprise and slight suspicion on his face.

But Ranboo is too excited. “Ok, ok-” They bounce on their toes. “-This is awesome, actually.”

“Ok?” Tommy smiles, Ranboo’s enthusiasm rubbing off on him. “Are you going to tell me what’s going on, big man?”

Ranboo smiles. “There’s three of us.”

Tommy is confused for a moment, but then he seems to catch on. “Wait, do you mean-?”

Ranboo nods. “I also had the green,” they reveal. “I met him yesterday.”

Tommy’s mouth opens in surprise. “Wait, are you saying I have a second soulmate?!”

Ranboo nods.

Three soulmates!

What are the chances?

“Holy shit!” Tommy exclaims. He turns back to Techno excitedly. Ranboo honestly forgot he was there. “Techno! I have two soulmates!”

“That’s pretty rare, actually,” Techno hums, face thoughtful. “Not unheard of, though.”

“That makes me better than you!” Tommy taunts.

Techno raises an eyebrow. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” he says, but Ranboo can see a small proud smile on his face.

Tommy turns back to Ranboo, excitement and hope shining on his face. “Can I meet them?” he asks. “Our other soulmate, I mean?”

“I mean, he’s at work right now,” Ranboo says with a thoughtful expression. “Lemme see when he gets off.”

Tommy chats excitedly with Techno while Ranboo sends Tubbo a text.

10:54 Ranboo: hey when do u get off work??

10:55 Tubbo: hsort shift todsya

10:55 Tubbo: in five

10:55 Ranboo: cool

10:55 Ranboo: got surprise :)

10:56 Tubbo: ??

10:56 Ranboo: get home as soon as u can

10:56 Tubbo: whatss thensuroeirse??

10:56 Tubbo: boo??

10:56 Ranboo: you'll see :)

Ranboo puts their phone away and turns back to Tommy, who is looking at them expectantly. “He’ll be off work in a bit,” they say. “Did you want to go over to his place?” Then looking nervously at Techno, adds. “I mean, if that’s ok with you?”

Tommy turns to Techno, like a child begging for candy. “Can I Techno? Pleeeeasse?”

Techno shrugs. “Sure, why not,” he says, and Tommy cheers. “Just call me or either mum or dad if you need anything. I'll be at Niki's,” the man adds.

“I will!”

With a wave goodbye to Techno, Ranboo and Tommy set off down the street, the opposite direction Ranboo came from.

Now usually Ranboo would feel bad about inviting someone over to someone else’s place without the other person knowing, but they think Tubbo will forgive them given the context of the situation.

Tubbo is going to be so excited when he meets Tommy!

Tommy is so excited to meet his second soulmate!

He might just be the luckiest person alive. Turns out he’s got not one, but two soulmates!

This is the best day of his life.

Ranboo seems like a cool person. A bit shy, with the backbone of a chocolate eclair, but a pretty chill dude overall.

During the walk, Tommy and Ranboo chat. Well, Tommy does most of the talking, with Ranboo seeming content just to listen. He tells them how he had just moved to the city with his family because of his dad’s job, and they’ve just settled into the place. Tommy was stuck in traffic when he almost ran into his soulmate the first time, you know. If he wasn’t stuck in a car they probably would’ve been able to meet sooner.

But Tommy’s glad he met Ranboo.

Ranboo tells him how they technically don’t live at the apartment they’re going to, but their other soulmate was kind enough to let them stay there since they didn’t have anywhere else to go. Tommy thinks this other soulmate must be a pretty decent guy to do that. Ranboo timidly admits they used to be a foster kid who had recently aged out of the system. Tommy then excitedly adds, “Oh my god! I was a foster kid too!” Then goes on to explain how he had been put in the foster system at five years old and was adopted by his current family at ten.

They eventually make it to the apartment, which isn’t actually that far from Tommy’s place, only a twenty minute walk. Ranboo lets him inside, and they both sit on the couch.

Tommy bounces in his seat. “So when will he get here?” he asks.

Ranboo shrugs. “Probably soon,” they answer. “He would’ve gotten off about ten minutes ago.”

Thinking about the inevitable meeting, Tommy suddenly grows nervous.

What if his second soulmate doesn’t like him? What if he finds Tommy too annoying? What if…?

“I hope he likes me,” he quietly admits.

Ranboo smiles at him kindly. “I’m sure you guys will get along just fine,” they affirm.

Tommy hopes so.

The two talk some more, if only fill the silence. Though they only need to wait for a few minutes.

Tommy gasps, stopping himself mid sentence, as his vision floods with green, just like the day before. “Ranboo,” he breathes.

Ranboo gives him a knowing smile. They stand up from the couch before walking towards the front door.

The door opens.

Tommy stands up, too nervous to stay sitting. He holds his breath as he hears a new voice.

“Ranboo?” someone says, stepping through the doorway behind Ranboo. “What’s going-”

Teal eyes meet blue, every bit of black, white and every shade of grey fading away.

Nervousness and excitement bubble in Tommy’s chest. “Hi,” he says, uncharacteristically shy.

The boy’s eyes widen, not once looking away. “Ranboo,” he whispers. “Is this…?”

Ranboo looks extremely happy. “This is Tommy,” they say. “He’s our third.” Ranboo then turns to Tommy. “And this is Tubbo.”

Tubbo’s eyes widen further, if that were possible, giving a brief glance to Ranboo before looking back at Tommy. “There’s three of us?” he breathes.

At the same time Tommy turns to Ranboo. “I could’ve introduced myself, y’know,” he says indignantly, though the words lack their usual flare, nerves getting the best of him.

Tubbo takes a step towards Tommy. “We were about to meet yesterday,” he says quietly. “But we lost each other.”

“Yeah,” Tommy laughs. “You can thank the traffic for that.”

“Oh, were you in a car?”

“Yeah.”

“Oh, no wonder!”

Tommy and Tubbo laugh, both feeling more at ease with each other.

“Glad we were still able to meet each other,” Tubbo says, then adds, “No wonder everything still looked so dull after I met Ranboo! I thought I had been lied to about colours my whole life!”

Tommy laughs, Ranboo chuckling along with him. “Honestly, I thought the same thing,” Tommy says.

“Same here,” Ranboo agrees. “The idea that there are three of us never even crossed my mind.”

“I think you speak for all of us, boss man,” Tubbo laughs. “All of this was very unexpected.”

“Agreed,” Tommy says. “Unexpected in, like, a good way, y’know?”

“Mhm,” Ranboo hums.

“Absolutely,” Tubbo agrees.

Everyone in this world is born colour blind.

People will go through most of their childhood only being able to see black, white, and every shade of grey you can think of.

Only when they meet their soulmate do colours become visible.

Tommy never would have thought he’d get not only one, but two soulmates, as a trio is pretty rare.
